Judi Harbin I think prayer is the most neglected spiritual exercise among Christians. For me I can do nothing apart from the Lord, and it is by prayer I realize his leading.
All creatures of our God and king Lift up your voices and with us sing Alleluia, alleluia Thou burning with golden beam Thou silver moon with softer gleam Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, Thou rushing wind that art so strong Ye clouds that sail in heavâ??n a long Alleluia, alleluia Thou rising morn in praise rejoice Ye light of evening find a voice Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, Thou flowing water pure and clear Make music for thy Lord to hear Alleluia, alleluia Thou fire so masterful and bright That gives to man both warmth and light Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia,
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (January 29), I played this for Sunday School Assembly. I did so because our Sunday School Lesson for today was based on Psalm 148. If Psalm 148 is your Scripture of the Day, this is a good hymn to compliment it, regardless of denomination.
“If you have men who will exclude any of God’s creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men.” St. Francis of Assisi #GoVegan!
I was a vegan of many years but make no mistake, being vegan is not Biblical. Jesus fed the 5,000 with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. 1 Corinthians 10:25-26 New King James Version 25 Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, asking no questions for conscience’ sake; 26 for “the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.”
In Heaven there is no harm [Isaiah 11:6-9], no pain, no bloodshed, no death, no violence. As citizens of Heaven [Philippians 3:20], what's wrong with dispensing of these unnecessary unpleasantries now? We are given free will. Our actions define our character. In a world where there is so much pointless violence, why not have a little compassion?
Amber R. Thurman If you're LDS, you are not a follower of Jesus Christ but a follower of a false jesus. I encourage you to seek the Lord through His Word and not the book of Mormon. Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven and the Mormon church preaches another jesus. I have prayed that the Lord would grant you repentance.
Can you believe where we are at a church today.... And how the enemy wants to rob God from His praise. Oh Come All Ye Faithful let us adore him! We ought to obey God rather than men. Let everything with breath praise the Lord.
Just wondering why lyrics changed from the original lovely words of St Francis that are, 'O brother sun with golden bean and O sister moon' with silver gleam?
+Dan Nichols It is the feel. They are trying to keep things on a 4/4 cadence as the traditional way is more in mixed meter so things do not always fall on a consistent beats per measure. It felt a little odd to me when I first heard it ;^)
+Simeon Amburgey + Simeon - Actually, the original is in 3/2, with a slow-swinging big-bell feeling, and does not start in the downbeat, but few people actually feel this or perform the hymn in that manner, which is too bad! This 4/4 interpretation is nice, but, for my ears, lacks some depth from the original. That's just my taste, but I'm more of a Traditionalist when it comes to traditional Hymnody. To each their own. I hope that this version might lead some younger players to investigate what the original version sounded/played like.
to a lot of us, the traditional is stale, boring, has no depth, stirs nothing inside of us (which is the sole purpose of music in worship). Nothing wrong at all with this one. We are all different, and different things appeal to everybody. Thank God someone is out there trying to stir the souls of the millions who aren't traditional.
@@samroney6644 The problem is that there are some things you don't have change to sound "contemporary"...I have been in a congregation where another traditional hymn (Blessed Assurance) was sung with pauses: and let me tell ya, some people were thrown off. Why? Because the hymn has been sung that way since it was first written. So now that made it awkward and somewhat distracting for at least some of the congregation. Changing the instrumentation, vocal style, even the tempo, that's fine...but changing the core rhythm of a hymn just to sound "modern?" Bad. These hymns have been in the church for 100, 200+ years...they have endured because of how they were written. And, you could argue that the very rhythm is etched in the souls of many...The original rhythm captures the spirit of the words the way it's supposed too. Doing this to the meter? It takes away some of that fervor in the music--and the words simply do not resonate as well. No matter what year it is, ya seek to marry the meaning of the text to the music as much as you can. Why? Because the more you do that, the higher the worship gets. And the higher it gets...the more glory to God it brings. And on a side note...really you could say singing the hymn this way is even more stale because of the pauses, lol

JESUS CHRIST COME SOON ❤️❤️❤️🕊❤️❤️❤️ YESHUA HAMASHIACH COME SOON ❤️🕊❤️GOD OF ISRAEL
Let every created thing give praise to the LORD, for he issued his command, and they came into being.
All creatures of our God and king
Lift up your voices and with us sing
Alleluia, alleluia
Thou burning with golden beam
Thou silver moon with softer gleam
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia,
Thou rushing wind that art so strong
Ye clouds that sail in heavâ??n a long

That gives to man both warmth and light

mkl62 I'm a lutheran at Christ The Servant Lutheran Church in Conway and we sang this at the 830 service and it was beautiful
St Francis of Assisi a wonderful man and walked in the Grace of our Father...wonderful words by him. Glad David made his words into song!
The music dates back to St Francis
How can we not sing Alleluia?
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord. Hallelujah!!!
Wonderful song! And great job with the lyrics and background and everything you did. That is so helpful!
Thank you Crowder for bringing us these beautiful arrangements of these hymns :)

Genesis 3:29 NLT “And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife.”
This is a great OPINION! Make sure to interpret a passage of the bible with the entire bible :)

Would love to worship to this song live
The words of the hymn were initially written by St. Francis of Assisi[2] in 1225 in the Canticle of the Sun poem, which was based on Psalm 148
Praise God
Love this version.

Thank you Lord Jesus 💚💛💜
WE PRAISE U HEAVENLY FATHER!!!

I'm in LDS follower of Jesus Christ and I do love this song. I can still feel the spirit very strongly

Why all the 1+ minute and 3+ minute ads before the video plays? The recent increase in ads on UA-cam has to be reducing view count rates.
Excellent song, thanks for sharing!
In this time of Covid when our congregation is not singing, is this video public domain?

What’s good with that snare drum lol
The Music is from 1623, a songbook from Cologne, not written by Ralph Vaughan Williams!
Oh Boy Mr.Bean
blessed song and nice presentation. what software did you used for this?
Why are the lyrics behind the music? Makes it hard to sing along.
Dan Nichols Sorry you're having a problem Dan. I looked at the video and didn't notice a delay. It might be your system. Again, Sorry.

Even the snake?
Hallelujah not alleluia
The first two times he sings Hallelujah but the third time he sings Alleluia.
Take a look at the English Hymnal from 1906...it's 'alleluya'
mr bean
Mr. Bean brought me here
AWFUL!!! Nothing beats a pipe organ and choir..this was just a horrible version
