Maaate, can't wait to see what else you have for us, I will be lining up to go out with you for sure. You know what I think of you, you are a fishing god.
You are the best Barra fisherman on UA-cam i think I have watched every episode I’m doing a trip up kinchant dam for a week next week from Sydney I have taken your tackle tips I have a Curado dc and the sustain 5000 and Zodias rod and Molix 120 and RT shads I just hope the fish are biting
congrats man on the guiding n also the pending courses people can do with u. so cool Deano u want to share ur knowledge. Deano the last few vids u have been sitting in a bass type boat, urs.
Great informative video Dean. I’ve had my eye on the 904 Loomis for a while, might be tempted to grab one next time I see them on special. Another good combo from the Shimano stable is the Zodias C75HA with 2-300 Curado, great for heavier baits like the molix shad etc, a bit more budget friendly over the Expride or Loomis combo. The Expride 167MH is my current favourite go to impoundment Barra jerkbait rod.
Yeah nice mate, I will need to check out the zodias rod. I have a zodias soon that I like. Sure am loving the loomis though, need a heavy spin from that stable
@@DeanSilvester not sure if Shimano AU are carrying that model Zodias anymore as it’s no longer listed on their website. It is still available in stores though so maybe for some reason it’s not listed on the shimano site but they still carry it. I bought a second one last week just incase. I’ve got that same model Zodias spin that you are running, it’s a beast, the model down (270H I think) is pretty balsy too and would probably handle the task of a jerk bait rod for those who prefer spin tackle for barra. Wish we had more Zodias and Expride models available over here like they do in the US., they’ve got quite a few models that are perfect for how we fish over here. Yeah I’m pretty keen on getting the 904 swimbait loomis, I’ve got an L904 spin that I built years ago for tuna/mackerel spinning in Moreton Bay etc it’s a tough little blank. Ps…I should ad, the reason I chose the Zodias over the Expride model you are running is the Zodias has a longer butt/rear grip section than the Expride, I find the longer butt more comfortable when slow rolling swim baits and plastic as you can tuck it up under your arm, nicer when your fighting fish with a longer rod too.
Congratulations on getting your coxswain ticket mate! I've been using the system shock leader for the last year or so and absolutely love it, I haven't been rubbed off once and its got that nice stretch. Great video Dean very informative as always 👍🏻🎣
Hello! Mate! Dean congratulations on becoming a fishing guide. I enjoyed watching and listening to your UA-cam video's. I mostly like when you talk about the reel's, rod's, line and lures. Because the fish that you talk about is so different. From the fish in the Uinted States. Your equipment has to stand up against the size of the fish your catching. Have you ever used a power handle on a reel. When Largemouth Bass fishing? Just wondering if I would give it try. 🤔 Shawn from the States. P.S. The reel sound is awesome. Zingggggggg!
I haven't yet mate, but i imagine i would use it mainly on anything larger like glide baits or even when dragging a really big worm yep love the sound of that reel, so cool
Legend big silvey those 120 shad awesome lure for jew finally bagged a big one on it 103 cm.def gonna get you to barra guide me if that's wat yur doing
Hey mate. You’ll guess with this question that iv been watching a while. You used to rate the Quantum Smoke bait casters. Now you’re a big Shimano hob knob 😂. Do you still ??? I understand there may be a conflict of interest so you can wink once for yes and twice for no if you like 😂 Reason I ask is there currently on special. Cheers
👍👍 Thanks for walking us through the tackle , mate.
You bet

Thanks legend, great feedback about that leader. I did see it a while back but had plenty of FC100 left so didnt do the change.
@@DeanSilvester no worries mate, yeah the FG bites into it very well and it's quite thin too for the breaking strength . I like it
