I wouldn't normally comment and Im not trying to be rude but when you said the stand was heavy duty I took your word for it
I recently had my motor die on my 4 year old de Walt cordless miter saw ( I was less than impressed) which I use off a stationary stand also de Walt but as I get older the 12 " saws are hard on my body lugging them round I had made the decision to buy a Makita 12" cordless and was looking to buy a stand with wheels, so off the back of the review you gave the stand I bought them
It took about an hour to figure out the assembly instructions and I don't know if it was just the one I got but the folding up and down was less than smooth particularly when the saw was attached, Im used to the de Walt style which is really easy to quick release from the stand this one would be near on impossible to slide off with a 70lb saw attached to it and if you leave it attached and stand it upright the saw pulls it over.
Im fortunate to have bought them from home depo who took the stand back and bought the ridgid stand and that is night and day folds up easily and doesn't fall over with the saw left attached and can be quickly to removed from the stand. The Makita was heavy but the extensions felt cheap and flimsy the ridgid feels solid and it has 12" wheels just thought Id add some balance to your review

*Works great. First thing I did was use it to build a stand for it **MyBest.Tools** Added 2 4X4 to both sides of it to get more surface area to hold the larger boards. Instructions are easy to read and follow to set up.*

Insider Carpentry has a really awesome miter stand / station. I personally love the thing and do a lot of production trim and cabinetry type stuff

I mounted the XSL08 12 inch Makita miter saw on a Bosch T4B Gravity-Rise Miter saw stand. The amount of time it took to raise the one leg on that Makita stand, the Bosch is already broke down ready to be loaded on the trailer.
I only buy Makita, so it took me a couple days to pull the trigger on the Bosch stand. lol

Nice product. I just ordered one. You seem very knowledgeable but the extra step of drawing a square line when your saw will cut what ever angle you want. Well just saying

its important to draw a ""Square Line"" to see if its cutting TRUE or not because many of these saws come directly from the factory with a ""Factory Set up"" and therefore need to be calibrated in order that they cut straight and true when they come out of the box -PLUS lots of these guys that haul the saw in and out of a Truck time and time again will obviously bump it and bang it around so throughout the life time of the saw its good common sense to check from time to time that it cuts properly and accurately

Is that roller attached on the wrong side?

Question being a carpenter like yourself, why can’t we get tape measures the right way around for right handed, we are always reading the tape upside down.

Carpenters don't loose tapes. It's always in the tool belt.

Carpenters just buy enough tape measures to always have one around lmao

These stands are absolute crap. I bought one and tried to assemble it today- apart from the fact that it came with broken parts and will be returned, I won't be getting another. Flimsy but heavy, badly designed, useless instructions. The adjustment knobs wouldn't last a week on site. Wish I'd spent more on the bosch gravity rise.
