I spent the last 3 weeks researching various miter saw stands and their price points, build quality (metal thickness, wheels, clamping, material support distance, etc). I narrowed my needs to a collapsible stand with wheels to roll in and out of the garage easily and ultimately chose this one.
For a stand with wheels, this is the best miter saw stand I have found when you also factor in the price point and it being cheaper than some alternatives, though not the cheapest out there (the Delta stand is twenty dollars cheaper).
I’m using my m18 10” saw and it has been an excellent and convenient combination, although I had to scrounge for my own screws and nuts to mount the saw on the stand because the ones the stand came with weren’t compatible with the saw.
I love the easy clamping for the material support extensions, it extremely quick and useful. It all folds up easily and rolls nicely back into the garage. The one thing ai will say is that the yellow plastic used for all the clamps feels cheap, it doesn’t align with the rest of the stand’s build quality.
Appreciate the comment and feedback 👍 👌 🙏
Definitely appreciate the comment . I've been researching them for a good while, and I think without laying hands on everyone this Definitely seems like a better stand at this price point. The Dewalt gets terrible reviews , the Bosch is $150 more and most seem to have big flaws or cist way too much. Sometimes both .
I will buy this for my husband , yes it is for father's day ..as a woman, I didn't even know what it was called, now I know, mitter stand 😊😊.. my husband has saw table but when I cleaned & organized garage this week, I think he needs table for his mitter, he loves woodwork. Thank you for the review.
You cleaned and organized his garage??? Wow.......!! Got any sisters? yes....am teasing but wow.
As a DIY'er I've had this miter saw stand for about 2 years - I really like it, and for the price it indeed provides excellent value. I tend to work out of my basement workshop or on the driveway on good days, and this thing makes it a cinch to move the saw to either location as needed. The material support extension sags a bit when pulled out so I have to use a level to adjust the height of the cylinder supports when cutting long pieces - that said I don't see what they could've done about that without making the unit a lot heavier and more expensive. One of the stops on the stand at least for my unit is not very square, which gets annoying when trying to cut material wider than a 2x4. Otherwise it's been fantastic, and what you can also do is with those plastic knobs that were being locked down during mounting - you can unlock those to slide the saw side to side to get farther or closer from material support extensions - which is super useful.
Appreciate the feedback
iv had this stand for a couple months now and its great. 11/7 would recommend. i use it for my 12inch bosh. i also use it for my 13 planner. just picked up an extra set of mounts so i swap them back and forth.
So basically the ryobi quickstand but the big chungus edition
I have the Ridgid stand similar to this one. Mine was free when I bought the saw. The Ridgid stand has 12" wheels so easier to move around. But if I got it free like I did the Ridgid stand I am sure I would find things to love about it.
Looks exactly like my channel lock, just different colors.
definitely go with the rigid. great for home owner or job site use. got mine on facebook new in in opened boa $160 plenty on line used also. just be patient.
@mikemcginn5722 , as far as I can tell Toughbuilt makes them for Channel Lock . I could be wrong , but it looks identical identical, minus the color and price difference. an
The ridgid stand won't fit my flex 24v saw 😢
I’ve had this same stand now for over half a year really like the portability and how easily it can be moved to store. This and the Keter folding work bench have been super handy.
Only dislike are the giant locking knobs tend to get caught on my tool pouch.
Wondering if it's possible to turn the saw around so the locking knobs are on the back side...
Yup. I don't own this stand, I have the lower model for my miter. But I have a stand of a very similar design as this one for my table saw so I can attest. This design is MUCH better, and much easier to work with than the most common design for miter stands. If I were buying for the miter today, this would absolutely be the one.
@@darcijr09 Just turn your miter saw around. It works for my Dewalt
I have this stand and it is the best, most stable, stand that I have used and I have recommended it to my friends often. Great video.
I used to have the Ridgid miter saw stand that is similar. It's great! It was hard to fit it in my van though so I use a foldable table now
A few years ago I scored the Rigid miter saw stand at the depot right before Christmas for $99. Great stand and at that price you can’t lose. Now they’re like $229, basically same price as this tough built stand. This stand though looks bad ass good job Clint!
I was in the market for a miter stand myself a short while ago and was choosing between this and the Ridgid. I bought the Ridgid because it just looked sexier and better put together to me.
@@VincheroKarpintero it has the same features as this tough built stand too. It’s crazy how much the Bosch stand is I couldn’t see myself spending that much in a miter saw stand.
I also went through quit a few the ridgid was the only one to hold up so far the delta sucked and the dewalts were flimsy
Thank you for the info but this is one of the first time I beat you to a tool I bought the stand four years ago and I’ve been super happy with it thanks for bringing it to the show
Those small wheels are a deal killer for me. The large ones on the Ridgid makes going up stairs a 1-man job, and those pneumatic tires are going to need air every time you go to use it.
I had this stand. And though the lift worked great. The side extensions were absolute garbage. So I returned it. The Harbor Freight Hercules stand is 100% a better product in every regard. Ease of use. Build quality. And yes.. The side extensions are MUCH better! Trust me on this one.. You won't believe how nice it really is..
Just gor comparisons sake..
I own two different DeWalt stands and the FASTCAP best fence stand which is the best stand on the market peroid. (It just costs $1500)
But I use the HF stand the most by far and I absolutely love it.
The HF stand..
I've head a few people mention the HF stand. I may need to try it 🤔
@@ToolReviewZone Definitely do! I think I paid like $170 on sale for mine and to this day.. Every time I use it I can't figure out how they make a profit on it. It's really a outstanding product.
I have to agree on the Hercules stand. I also own one and use it pretty much every day. I get asked about it alot. They're surprised when I say I got it from HF.
@@markvasko2531 Like I said.. I have a Fast Cap Best fence miter stand and it's amazing. But it's also a very expensive stand. The HF stand is super sturdy. Much easier to move around and the extension arms and stops are the best I've seen. And it's under $200! I had the exact stand this video is about and I actually called the company and talked to one of their designers about how awful the stops were on the extension arms. The are pretty much worthless for any kind of repeatable cutting
I've been using my dws780 for around 10 years with the sh***y Dewalt folding miter saw stand that came with it. Just started looking for a replacement stand... after this video, I got this one. O. M. G. What a joy it is to use my miter saw now. (Of course I also just finally replaced the original blade and that helped a LOT, too.) Thanks for this suggestion!
That's awesome Ray, really glad you like it...and appreciate the feedback brother 👊
Delta makes them. I have one for my tile saw. Its been a game changer. Time saver. Worth the money.
This might be YOUR BEST VIDEO yet. The miter saw stand is killer! I’m buying one.
Thanks brother man ron
I like the fact that there aren't any cables, springs, or cylinders to adjust or replace.
I like everything toughbuilt has come out with. Very nice quality and a great value for the price.
I think it would be great if you could find one in stock somewhere!!!!
I've been hearing this a lot. To be honest, it's disappointing that ToughBuilt can't seem to keep things in stock. Not very professional
Love all it has to offer. Putting in 50 feet of fencing the other day and you have to cut an inch off a 4x2 and you need two people because the board is long and need somebody to hold it while you cut. This puts and end to that, right quick like. Gonna get this sucker, rat now. Thanks.
good comment
Yes it's cheap. But for precision and ease of use I will stick with my festool set. But for those who hasn't used kapex it will be really nice stand.
I'm liking that it looks like it can double as a dolly since it is built beefy
Looks just like the ridged stand I been using for awhile
Thanks for the review! I'll stick with my Ridgid Stand, with the 12" wheels its so easy to roll the stand over steps, the wheels on this one looks small.
I have the Bosch gravity rise stand for my DWS779, I've been wanting to get a stand for my Milwaukee 7-1/4 miter saw but I don't want to spend $299 for another one, but that Tough Built stand and price is real nass like yes indeed.
Smeeesh that like button. 👀👉🏼 👍🏽
Thanks for the comment and SMEEESH Jason!!!!
Looks real similar to the ridgid stand. It's a decent unit. But the plastic wheels are massive and the slide outs are kind meh. I pulled the one off the right, put it with the left so it's dual armed now. Welded on the top of a roller stand in place of the round piece.
I wonder if the ridgid mounts will fit🤔. Looks like they will
Only thing missing are measurements on the extension arms. Wouldn’t it be nice to pull a side out with stopper up to say the 8’ mark on the arm and it cuts your board to 8’? I guess they could be drawn on.
Looks pretty comparable to the Ridgid with maybe nicer knobs but more assembly and non-removable mounts?
no really, that's a question. Other comments suggest the mount is removable. One issue I have with my ridgid is that once it is setup if I just want to move it out of the way for a minute there is no convenient handle that allows me to use the wheels. Looks like this suffers the same affliction.
I bought the DeWalt version dw734 I think a few years ago. It is heavy and cumbersome to use.
Haven't used the dewalt, but appreciate the feedback 👊👊
I went through 4 stands before i got the ridgid i have now my dws780 lives good on the ridgid i had the delta terrible had both dewalts hated them and tried the lowes cheapo it was bad but the ridgid lifetime warranty stand is pretty good
I’m glad you did a toughbuilt review. Hope to see more!
i like the setup on this better than my dewalt but i think they still leave out some function... loading these units you have to drag the sides that do not have wheels and the extension sides need dual braces for long boards...
I had the Ridgid one for years...it was REEL NICE LIKE as well. I think Ridgid is considered to be one of the best. As of this moment the Ridgid is $149...This one is $228...but the Ridgid does go on sell (I got mine for $99). Is the tough built worth the extra money???? I am not sure but I wanted ask every ones thoughts?
bosch makes the best if your a contractor. otherwise go with the ridged. large where and folds in seconds with the saw mounted.
Reminds me of the Ridgid universal mobile mitre saw stand.
Bought one just because of you. Great sense of humor. Or maybe I just relate….
Hope you like it Charles 👊👊👊
I have to say, I am a fairly newly minted fan of Tough Built.
When they first crossed my field of view, I thought they were just another budget Amazon creation brand. But then I hot one of those periods we all go through, when money was a little tight. On this occasion, it was tight because I had just purchased brand new miter and table saws. So I bought one of their miter saw stands as a "temporary measure." It did not wind up being temporary at all because, when I brought that thing home, it was of outstanding quality. My miter still sits on t to this day.
I do, however, wish I had seen the one Clint is playing with, back then. My tough built miter stand is top notch, like I said, but it is that completely standardized design that almost every miter saw stand with wheels uses. Mine is great, but the design is absolutely worse than what Clint is showing you here.
I picked up two of their sawhorses yesterday too. It was sone of those lottery winner deals where Home Depot screwed up so badly that the manager not only upgraded me to their top offering (the 700...which really is overkill), but gave them to me for free and refunded me the money I had paid for their lower model. I got an upgrade and paid nothing for the two saw horses which is...real...REAL naas like.
Seriously, I am not a "cheap tool" guy. I am your standard DeWalt XR customer who happens to also be a fan of Milwaukee. But when it comes to the things that Tough Built make, man...their level of quality fits perfectly in my shop.
Listen to what the man is telling you here. He is right. And his affiliate link is to Big Orange, which means you can go pick them up after buying and avoid shipping charges...all while helping our man Clint out in the process.
That's a damned nice miter stand, right there...better than mine!
I have the smaller toughbuilt stand because it’s smaller. It’s awesome also. You cannot go wrong with toughbuilt and most reviewers of top ten don’t even try toughbuilt. Good stuff!
thats got to be the best saw stand I've seen
You need to check out the BOSCH Portable Gravity-Rise Wheeled Miter Saw Stand T4B that is the best stand on the market yes it's expensive but it's well worth it
The Makita WST05 has support extension but with adjustable legs
Yeah Buddy. Nice tool and I like your vibe. When I need this, I will click the link. I always watch UA-cam reviews ! Let's get cooking.
Super excited to see you taking a recommendation I've made to a few different channel or content providers including you I think Toughbuilt is a great brand. Of their products I own at least four of them and I picked all of those up within the last couple months maybe. I am extremely satisfied with every single one. I have two great drill holsters, check out their clip tech tool belt system and their tool tote tool bag storage options, and I also have a great pair of rocker shell knee pads and the cutter scraper utility knife. The only complaint I have out of all of those things is I thought the utility knife would use the normal utility knife blades just that it wouldn't rotate to scraper mode however apparently I was mistaken and you cannot put any utility blades on this utility knife that are not tough built proprietary design. I should have maybe done more research but I priced the tough built blades and their the same price I think if not maybe a little bit different than normal blades so it's not a big deal other than availability in certain stores. I'm probably not going to find replacement blades for this utility knife at the Dollar general or maybe not even Ace hardware but Lowe's and home Depot I know carry them and there's always the online market so no worries. Also you should definitely check out their whole line of levels cuz they've got some pretty nice ones especially their large levels great pocket level as well and even I'm pretty sure a laser level and a laser distance meter or just expanding their product line consistently and regularly apparently because I've never seen this miter saw stand until you just reviewed it. Keep sending and putting out great content God blessed be safe and real nice like
👊👊👊
Great stand and decently priced. I could use one of these. Thanks Clint Great video
Seems like a fine stand, end of the day though you could build some custom wings on it and have a fantastic setup. My wings are all scrap wood off old jobs, but functional and I love them lol.
Clint, this looks awesome, but for those that truly need a mobile stand I think we have to think about getting it in and out of a truck. All the stands I’ve seen are pretty awkward, but the handles on this one looks like they stop in a difficult spot. What’s your take on the loading of this stand? I wish the handles could pivot when loaded creating a more protective box like shape.
I've always taken the wheel side out first with the handles towards the front of the truck, pulled out the stand till I could set the bottom of the stand down and then wheel it to where ever you want. If you are worried about the end caps of the handles, then you can cut x's in some tennis balls and put them over the ends to protect them
Then vice versa for the load up
To load, get it to a spot where you can tilt it back on the handles to rest there then move to wheels and lift up and scoot forwards. Hope this helps
Send my favorite miter saw stand on over and i will put it to use. That would be real nass like. I dont know whats cooler, you or the stand.
Hahahaha definitely the stand John 🤣🤣🤣
That doesn't look like it comes in even as a third place finisher compared to a Ridgid miter saw stand from Home Depot.
The Ridgid stand doesn't require all that assembly. It's super easy to use an extremely durable.
The normal price at Home Depot is about $248, however, you can get them on sale sometimes for as low as $99 right before Christmas.
Nice stand,
But..... I own one of tough built other style of miter stands and the locks for the extensions which are on the one you demonstrated will fail to lock after you use a couple of times.
So there goes your measuring stop.
It will slide and will not lock.
It was discontinued?
BOSCH Portable Gravity-Rise Wheeled Miter Saw Stand T4B is by far the best miter saw stand on the market . It literally blows any and all miter saw stands away including that one. even though that's pretty decent
You had me at #1... By #5 I was already on the HD website... "Real nice like" CLINT 👍🏻👍🏻
Robert 👊 👊 👊
Pretty fitting I have been looking for a stand. The only thing that’s holding me back is it seems a bit bulky. Do they make a model for someone who wants more portability.
They make a smaller model and it's about $100 cheaper
Is the gravity included or is it an upgrade?
Lol, definitely an upgrade 🤣 👌
Wish someone would make one of these out of carbon fiber like a pro race bicycle. Knock off 25lbs. Put on larger tires.. larger tires help on stairs.
Since I've been watching your videos almost everything I do comes out "real nice like"!
Awesomeness 👊 👌 👏
I got my dewalt one new for that price (christmas time) but for an everyday price that's pretty good
It looks almost identical to the rigid I actually like my Ridgid SAW stand it's got the notepad holder and everything on it too
Looks like it’s sturdy and I’m gonna get this for myself thank you for the video
Looks like the RIDGID mitre saw stand with beefier knobs, oh it’s yellow
I'm not in the market for a miter saw stand these days, but TODAY, and TODAY only, I'm in the market of recommending some good workout music. You reminded me of Electric Callboy- Pump It. Maybe you need to do a reaction to that video. And see how long it is before ol' Vance does a reaction vid. Stay cool and stay fresher than the 2 day old refrigerated fried chicken in the deli.
Lmao
Hey it's been a little while do you still feel as strongly as you do about this miter saw stand or is there possibly another budget one out there that's equal or better than this tough built one?
ridgid is better and cheaper and wheels are biger. I've bought it for $119 when it was on sale (there was at least 2 sales events within one year) And it's lighter..
Same here the ridgid is awesome i have a dewalt dws780 on it just a dream tough unlike the flimsy dewalt delta and bosh stands
Got mine for 99$ three years ago
I want this unless I can find that Bora portacube miter saw table with the holding wing sides. Know which one I'm talking about? What's your opinion on each and how would you compare? There is a big price difference
Also just found the Ridgid that looks kinda similar to this and it's on sale for $179. Can I get your opinion between this tough built and the Ridgid one that looks similar, I see the Ridgid has larger wheels tho, not sure about the other differences
Do you guys carry anything else in your trucks besides a miter saw?
First this is a great review. I have the DEWALT Miter Saw Stand With Wheels (DWX726). On Amazon it is $226. Granted it does not have the pnuematic tires but in my opinion it is comparible.
That typo at 3:00 was unfortunate but made me chuckle
That thing is bad ***! And for that price? Love it!
I'm pretty happy with it Michael. They did good on it 👊
Cool stand like. So 2 things, first, on the outfeed bars, some will move when clamped. On my Ridgid.stand, I can reset the tightening levers and get them really tight..won't move unless you slam your stick into it. In my buddy's Delta stand, it seems like it's a spring leaded friction fit that can be bumped out of correct length. Looking at his tomorrow. 2nd, on the round tube supports, the can ruse and lower and you can set the stop plate. They all seem to have the tightening screw welded.into the corner and it cants the stop plate off of 90. It's fine for 2 board because it cants out but if you put 2 boards, which u don't recommend unless you blade is balls 90 side to sides, the 2nf board will stop in a longer length. Can you check yours or do a video on this.
This stand has a few SMALL improvements than a stand I bought from Ridgid 12 years ago. As soon as I saw it, first thought was.... that's a remake of my Ridgid stand.....
Good review though.....
Looks good. Thanks again for the entertaining teaching style.
LOVE your video, had me laughing and entertained the entire time.
The BEST stand I have ever owned was the Ridgid AC9944 paired with the Ridgid R4121. The AC9944 WAS a beast and I say it was because I had to sell her. WAYYYYY too heavy for mobility. Now it's the DeWalt stands I use for ease of mobility and weight. But I miss the table of the ac9944 and the SCWEEEET out feeds.
👊👊👊
I'm having trouble finding this stand, it seems it was discontinued or never restocked
Can't find this stand anywhere...Home Depot says 'Out of Stock' even online. Lowe's doesn't show it at all.
I heard that the stores felt it was taking up to much space, so they are going to start selling directly from the ToughBuilt site
Just subscribed to your channel and watched your video on the ToughBuilt saw stand. Very informative and entertaining! I did not know about this stand before I bought my Ridgid stand. Mine was actually a little less money than the ToughBuilt one but it is very similar in build quality. Just assembled it yesterday and ready to mount my new Hercules miter saw on it. I also have Tough Built sawhorses from Home Depot and they are super strong! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the comment and welcome to the channel Rick!!!!
Great video - looks like a great stand, but is it too big and heavy for small people with goggles?
Its a nice stand but I will stick with my DeWalt DWX726. I just think those rail adjustment knobs would get in the way...
Nice stand. I think it's from the same manufacturer as the old Ridgid AC9945 which is the one I have. Parts of it look identical. I like this one better though because of the rails have the ability to mount saws that don't have an "exactly square" 4 bolt mounting pattern.
I just picked up the Hercules 550lb Miter Saw Stand from Harbor Freight on sale for $130...it's real nass like...wish I'd seen this first though. How do you level this out on uneven surfaces?
Can you do a comparison to the bosch gravity rise stand? That would be real nass like 👍
Hey Cliff!! How goes it mi friend? Yo, umm, I likest Toughbuilt and all that stuff, but, the stand is just a copy of Delta's Miter Saw Stand. 👀 (I)dentical. I've been using the Delta for a couple years and you are correct, the design stupidcool. My favorite feature is being able to fold it, roll it, and stand it in a 24"x24" spot. This thing is so awesome that it is dicriculous! The Delta has larger wheels and last but not least, the Delta costs less.
Schweet it’s what the Dewalt should have been.with its release mechanism with questionable reliability. ,Great simple design no BS
Did you ever actually use the Work Pro 4 in 1 miter stand mounting tube features? And if so how would it compare to this?
I have. I still love the work pro table. Someone actually asked me if they could buy it today and told them no. Thay said, this is definitely more portable that the work pro
Could you compare this to the 128” model with 3 port gfci attached
That thing looks tough Clint
Jamal 👊👊👊👊
That span is much further than my older toughbuilt roller. I was thinking you were about to break it when pulling them out!
Lol, they just kept coming out 🤣
Thanks man. I was looking to buy one of these and this is perfect.
Just another data point - it works fine like on both my iPhone and my Android TV youtube apps.
That's a Shweet Shweet Stand TRZ👍that auto stop is Real Nass Like!
Looks just like Ridgids stand, which is excellent but the metal here looks beefier.
so why didn’t they put the handles on the opposite side as the wheels ????
Thanks for making me smile.
Looks like the SawStopJSS stand, which is awesome.
Love the design and functionality on this one. Looks good too 🙂✌️❤️
Does anyone know where I can buy one of these??? I have searched many hours over several days, and simply cannot find one. 😞
I think Lowes booted them out. That's the one issue with ToughBuilt, they are hard to find after a while. Have you tried their website
@@ToolReviewZone Yes, in fact, that was the first place I looked. TYVM for your reply!!!!!
Milwaukee needs to make portable ones with wheels for the miter and table saw
how does it hold up since you made this review? been thinking of getting one for my 12" dewalt saw
I had this stand . It was fine at first but the support arms are week and end up twisting making it horrible to use . Not up to site work .
Really, the Herculies is a great stand if you can get a coupon.. Light, and sturdy aluminum.
Saying out of stock thru Home Depot... Any other places have this item...???
Thanks
Lol thanks I was looking at this vs a delwalt one. Keep up the good videos
Will the Bosch GCM 12 GDL fit. Since it so enormous
