Are two string trees standard or can you use more or less? How does the number of string trees affect playing and/or the sound? I clearly have no guitar knowledge but this entire build and customization is fascinating.
With some type guitars like Gibson the head stock tilts back so trees are not necessary to keep tension on the nut. As far as sound or tone it has been a long time argument if trees help improve tone or vibration. My experience is that it’s not a measurable difference if any. But I have played many guitars with flat headstocks that have no trees and some of them have a slight ringing noise on the high strings. When a tree is added the ring goes away. It depends on the guitar if it needs one or two trees. Thanks for watching and your question. 👍✌️
