NAMM 2020: Nord Wave 2

Looks like a really cool synth, it’s just hard to get excited about something that isn’t breaking new ground these days. With all the amazing soft synths out and the power of computers matched with a great MPE midi controller it’s hard to spend this kind of money on a keyboard, unless it’s something magical and new. That said performing live while depending on a laptop is no fun at all, and I imagine this is aimed at live performances. The demo wasn’t as bad as some said, he was concise and explained the features nicely. Audio could have been better, but hey it’s UA-cam and this was probably his hundred and fiftieth demo of the day for this thing! Give him a little slack 😉

I have to agree with the comments that this is a pretty lackluster demo. The only sound that caught my attention was at 9:18. Hopefully Nord will pump out some sessions soon where featured artists put it to good use and show us more of the sonic potential of the wave 2

Good grief - it’s 2020 and only 1G sample playback memory!

You have to look at it like money and inflation. 1 GB does not mean everything when you don't take into account the average sample size. Nord does have a compression algorithm but there are a few other key components such as their bal. outputs that are missing on any other regular self

Did you see the list price? I mean, yes it's useless but even looking at the street price - they can afford to put another few GB in this thing. 1GB is seriously not sufficient and a bit of a joke.

very quiet video. i used to hate nord cause of the plastic like buttons and i felt like it was cheap when i tried the nord stage 3 because i never used an analogue like synth but after i got the lead 4 now i want to get the wave 2
