This rehash of the ancient lore actually made everything coherent. I really enjoy the story so far, and I actually managed to learn something new. Definitely waiting for the part 3
+notoriousbig3k You can tell that you're a moron who only played the expansions because of the hype and has never even touched any of the novels. If Pandaria isn't canon then we lose the August Celestials (which played a giant part in the early story of Azeroth) as well as Lei Shen and the freeing of the Pandaren (Which are all core characters to the main storyline before Green Jesus appeared). L2P & L2R kid.
They were "inspired" by H.P. Lovecraft enough to rip off his gods for their pantheon. Cthulhu = C'thun, Yog Sothoth = Yogg Saron, Shub Niggurath = Shul Nagrath... They put less effort into changing the names than a 7th grader copying Wikipedia.
Narev nah, I still give the reward of less effort to the 7th grader, most I knew didn’t change anything from Wikipedia. Few copied the sources section, was disappointing even to me...
Originally he wanted to use the picture of a planet void filled from the star augur etraeus encounter but he couldnt get a clearer version of it hence why he used this.He talked about this on twitter.
+soulkutu Bitch bitch bitch. Doesn't matter how insignificant, someone will fucking bitch. Thanks for taking the time to make this video, Nob. Ignore the complainers.
Watching your videos before going to sleep ain't really the best idea, at least for me. Once again, one video led to another and that another to another one. About 4 hours later, here I am looking for the next video
Listening to this while trying to sleep, gets an 8 minute ad in the middle... caught me off guard. Lost focus, again. I want to learn the lore but my thoughts always wander and suddenly I've lost a minute of it and when i listen again I don't know what's going on. This is well made and I'm sad I can't get through them because my brain sucks.
Fantastic video, Nobbel! it was so well put together and your understanding of the lore makes it so easy for the viewer to understand, too. Thank you for the story telling!
I have never played Warcraft games, mostly I have no idea what are you talking about in those videos, but I really really like em. Thank you so much, those videos truly are amazing.
+Helm Thunderson That's exactly the reason why I picked a female model over male, but that said...The reddit post about the titan spirit describes it as a he. www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/4bnfpn/spoilers_question_about_the_chronicles_story/
+Nobbel87 Oh wow, you replied! I honestly did not expect that... I did see this before in one of your previous videos, but I found it a bit too ridiculous to take seriously. I just wanted to know if you were supporting the theory, since everything you predict becomes canon. Anyhow, thanks for responding again!
+Nobbel87 What if Elune was actually the elemental lord (Lady? Lordess?) of Spirit? I mean... if you kinda think about it, the NE's and the Wild Gods have always been kinda linked together, and I always assumed the Wild Gods (those are like Ursoc and them, right?) were already linked to Spirit. I know this i kinda late, but it was a thought that came into my head a couple days after I watched this video. Maybe that's why she is the "Moon", because the Old Gods imprisoned her there like the Azeroth the Titan in it's egg. What do you think about that?
+Sauceyapples Oh, that actually makes a lot of sense! But... Wouldn't that mean her powers are drained by that aborted World Soul? (According to that reddit post, that is)
I am an old female fart,,and have only just begun to play wow, just to understand what my kids were talking about. After watching ur understanding of the lore it makes it so much eaiser for myself to understand. Thank you for taking the time to do this. The game is great.I love it !!
might be because in the modern nights, the term has grown wider, including ancient beings and even loa, even those who would bot have fit in Freyas definition of the term.
Haha, now that you mention it. A race of ancient, virtually immortal beings, with stronger ties than any other native race to the emerald dream and the ancients. They might as well be.
+AlphosLeo Queen Azshara gained future visions Satyr's are corrupted elfs Naga are corrupted elfs they are basically the fallowers of Azshara that wanted her corrupted demonic gift she got from Manorath
I feel like there is still a lot more to be said about the Titans encounter with N'Zoth, though the reason they decided to not touch upon it is because they will most likely include it in the next expansion. (Assuming the next expansion is revolving around N'Zoth and Azshara)
So what will happen if the titan soul on Azeroth awakens? Will the planet blow up in the process or will it exit the planet in a way that it doesn't kill everything on it?
+NOBUNAGA1991 That's what I was wondering, too. They never really say what happens to the worlds the titans are birthed/wake up from. I'd imagine the waking titan soul would be a zone/raid of some kind either way. Either we'd have to lull it back to sleep so we don't all die or protect it while it does... whatever it does while transitioning from sleepy to wakey.
+NOBUNAGA1991 The exact way the Titans are described makes them sound more metaphysical than physical. So when the Titan is born, he doesn't hatch and destroy the planet, or even go Transformer and shift into a humanoid. It is very likely they instead either a) simply emanate a new metaphysical body, b) their inhabitants create an avatar body which the Titan then uses to move about away from its "real" body, the planet. Remember: the Titans are world-*souls* not worlds. Disclaimer: this is informed speculation.
+NOBUNAGA1991 I think this is gonna be the hidden motives behind why Sargeras wanting Azeroth so badly, he wants to kill the slumbering Titan, because of what nobbel just said the slumbering titan will either be just as powerful as him or even more. This plus the fact it could become corrupted makes him just want to destroy it and be done with it. (Or steal its power)
These are so fun and itnresting, Since im lonely i really like to dream how i would be in these universes as a hero. I always solo old content and listen to all the lore. This is so good
I want a World of Warcraft Let's play :D You playing wow while talk about the Story of the Quests. I could watch it for Years :) Keep up the great work
+Writer Shard it does, I'm here hoping they will released it somewhere this week or at least the released of Civil War, that seem like a good marketing strategy.
+Thinh Vo The audiences for captain america and WC have lots of overlap and most probably would rather see captain because they know it will be a decent film at least. Video game movie adaptations are very murky and there is still some lingering skepticism over the WC movie.
Before Chronicles came out, I always wondered why on earth did the Titans create Well of Eternity on Azeroth but not on Draenor? Like, there's got to have been more purpose in there than just maintaining planet's life force. Now I know and I can relax.
You should make a video, or a 4 video long series, about the specific stories behind each Old God. I would pay to see that. Unless I missed the video in my google search. If there is one by Nobbel, somebody please tell me.
About the possibility of there being more islands to visit, I remember someone asking Blizzard why the Southern parts of the game are more tropical rather than icy. You can say is because we already have Northrend but even then it would make the world really small, like smaller than Pluto, that could mean that we're only seeing a quarter of the full planet, there could be a Southern region and also a West/East region. Opening the story to more villains and new unique races.
Wait there are Five old Gods? If you go to about 18:58 and read the box in the bottom left its say:" The Pantheon shattered the Old God´s citadels and chained the five evil gods far beneath the surface of the world." Weird i always thought there where only four. Great video Nobbel..watching alot of you Lore stuff at the Moment really interesting and im having a blast. Keep it up!
I'm trying to find the video where Nobbel talks about the pandaren and how (someone) created the pandaren before the elves and humans in Azeroth. Does anyone know which video it is?
+Mad Max Yeah. The Titans didn't even take part in the fight themselves (except for the destruction of Y'shaarj which was very easy for Aman'Thul since apparently he just killed him with one hand) Also the fact that a Titan fell was supposed to show us how mighty and scary the Old Gods were. Now the Old Gods seem to be way below the Titans in power and the Void Lords seem to be the strongest evil in existence.
+Mad Max Practically everything the Titans did on Azeroth has now been retconned to the Keepers doing it. Apart from that not much has changed, but a staggering amount of details has been added to the story.
Very cool new lore tidbits! Gotta say, big fan! I love listening to these while I'm at work. It's like listening to books on tape of really interesting short stories! :D That said, I have a couple of questions regarding some info from this video. If the Well of Eternity is the band-aid/result of the wound to the Azeroth Titan Soul from Y'Shaarj being ripped out, what do you think the implications are to the Titan itself would have been when Azshara and the Highborn opened the portal to the Legion through it? Has the Titan been "bleeding out" for 10,000 years after the Well blew up and became the Maelstrom? And, if the Well was the manifestation of the band-aid over the wound, what do you think the new Well that Illidan created with the waters means? Would that be a new wound to the Titan Soul? Could the World Tree a band-aid for the band-aid? Taking that a step further, using the same waters to create the Sunwell, was yet another wound caused to the Titan Soul? Is that perhaps why the Wrathion story said that we must rebuild the final Titan? It seems like we may, inadvertently, been slowly been bleeding it dry like leeches. If the Wells do indeed run off Titan energies, what do you think the implications might be for Draenor/Outland? In the Black Temple, during the warlock green fire questline, it is remarked by Kanrethad Ebonlocke that "The powers of this room are not unlike the original Well of Eternity on Azeroth" in regards to the pool under the Reliquary of Souls. It even had enough power to break the Legion's hold over the demon-kind that now serve Illidan. Do you think this may indicate the presence of a Titan Soul within the planet of Draenor?
I'm thinking Blizzard could be using these new books to move toward the Titan soul awakening in-game. I wouldn't be mad if that's the way WoW ends. but of course, they want to milk it for all it's worth, so who knows how long that will/would take.
Hi Nobbel, great video, but it left me with some questions I was hoping you could address in a follow up. What happened to the Old Gods or Elemental lords when we "killed" them in World of Warcraft? We fought C'Thun in An'Qiraj, Yogg-Saron in Ulduman, Ragnaros in the Firelands, and Al-Akir in Skywall, but are they really gone?
Hey Nobbel! What's the deal with Venture Co. in WoW? Are they actually digging for something mysterious or are they just excavators all around the wow universe?
+Nobbel87 i have 2 question. Why the keepers didn´t help fighting the Legion @ War of the Ancients. And is Aggramar dead?, what happend with his weapon Taeshalach?
I've read the book but was left hanging about what happened to the World Soul of Azeroth after the Well of Eternity explodes, causing The Sundering. Does it is still there waiting to be born? If it happens, would the planet cease to exist? Like the planet itself is the Titan's body etc. so many questions
There should be an in-game NPC named after Nobbel. He´s doing a great job by completing the story of the game. That NPC should be part of league of explorers or something like that. I´m just curious if there is any possible way how to contact Blizzard about this. I´m pretty sure that Madson would support it. :D
very awesome. I always wondered where the well of eternity came from. wish there was more on the void lord/gods and old gods as they are something thats been very vague
I like the proper explanation for why they only killed Y'Shaarj, the Sha never seemed THAT bad, but if killing one creates another Well of Eternity, that makes sense
Hey Nobbel, i stopped playing the game after MOP, but i still enjoy the lore, I was wondering if u can make a SUM UP vidio about what happened in WOD, with all the cinematics and to line it up with the forthcoming events in Legion.
Nobbel, you mentioned 4 Old Gods in Azeroth, but what about that one in Dark Shore with a huge sword in his head? Was that a Old God or just a very powerful minion?
Wow, so is most of the keeper corrupted by the old gods later?? wish you would made a video talking how and why the keepers turn against the players...... soooo confuse right now....
Hey Nobbel, when you max zoom out the ingame map, you will see the three planets : Azeroth, Draenor and Outland but left and right there are two guys.. who are they ?
Another retcon, of lore almost everyone forgets. According to the Uldaman discs Dwarves were buuilt out of flesh on prior titan worlds, and Azeroth was the first time making them entirely out of stone. Since Draenor had Ogres that were not made of pure stone I think it's still PARTLY true that the titans didn't always make rock and metal servitors.
I cant help to think that Blizzard has taken a lot inspiration from norse mythology when writing this. There are also lots of norse mythology in Legion as far as I have seen.
+Rene-Pierre Blanchette Mimiron wasnt always a mechagnome Loken killed sif, Thorims wife, he didnt want Mim telling so he killed him, Mimiron's gnomes contained his soul and built him a new body.
I know history of Warcraft more than history of the world
Considering the history of the world are all differences with each individual country and culture that are not connected to each other, I can see why.
both not true. but this one look better :)
It’s okay I don’t really have
TiTiiititiiTyittiyIi
This rehash of the ancient lore actually made everything coherent. I really enjoy the story so far, and I actually managed to learn something new. Definitely waiting for the part 3
It's worth mentioning that the August Celestials from Pandaria are also part of the Wild Gods created by Freya.
+Rodrigo Linhares
PAndaria cannot be called canon
+notoriousbig3k lol yes
+notoriousbig3k Pandaria is more of canon then wod is.
+notoriousbig3k why?
+notoriousbig3k You can tell that you're a moron who only played the expansions because of the hype and has never even touched any of the novels.
If Pandaria isn't canon then we lose the August Celestials (which played a giant part in the early story of Azeroth) as well as Lei Shen and the freeing of the Pandaren (Which are all core characters to the main storyline before Green Jesus appeared).

I love how Blizzard have been inspired by Norse, Greek and Egyptian gods with their Keeper names, . :D

So... does that mean that right under our virtual feet there is a baby titan? What happens when it wakes up?
+John Smith i dont think it literally cracks. its a spirit, not a physical thing i think
We die.
+John Smith That would be cool if we at some point were forced to work together with the old gods to kill the titan soul so it would blow us all up.
+A'lar Yeah right! Better dead than with the Old Gods I say!
Liam Dalton There is no escape, not even in death. Submit to the will of the old gods. Shr'alfg urugh, rogg shara norshkusz!
Nobbel, now we have art for the old gods, I am really tired of seeing C'Thuns everywhere.
You must love Hearthstone then

You used a female Titan model for Azeroth's Worldsoul, am I overthinking things or are you on board with Elune being the Titan of Azeroth?
+Helm Thunderson That's exactly the reason why I picked a female model over male, but that said...The reddit post about the titan spirit describes it as a he. www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/4bnfpn/spoilers_question_about_the_chronicles_story/

Damn , the story of the titans and their creations really is fascinating ... we need more ... MORE !
16:09 apparently Satyrs, Naga and Queen Azshara are counted among the Wild Gods.
might be because in the modern nights, the term has grown wider, including ancient beings and even loa, even those who would bot have fit in Freyas definition of the term.
Jonatan Rydén Unless elves are considered Wild Gods... fuck no.
Haha, now that you mention it. A race of ancient, virtually immortal beings, with stronger ties than any other native race to the emerald dream and the ancients. They might as well be.
Jonatan Rydén Please stop lmao

Queen Azshara gained future visions
Satyr's are corrupted elfs
Naga are corrupted elfs
they are basically the fallowers of Azshara that wanted her corrupted demonic gift she got from Manorath

You are a superb storyteller, Nobbel!

+NOBUNAGA1991 The exact way the Titans are described makes them sound more metaphysical than physical. So when the Titan is born, he doesn't hatch and destroy the planet, or even go Transformer and shift into a humanoid. Fantastic information, gathered and presented in a phenomenal way with the most terribel diction on youtube.
It would have been great if they did this lore revamp and polish before cataclysm so they could weave the story really well into every zone.
The chronicles answered so many questions.
These are so fun and itnresting, Since im lonely i really like to dream how i would be in these universes as a hero. I always solo old content and listen to all the lore. This is so good
Just what i needed, a lore video when i can't sleep :) tnx man
Nobbel can read a damn Phonebook and it'll sound interesting :D
So much Norse mythology in Blizzards Titan lore. Aesir and Vanir are the 2 pantheons of the Norse Gods. Really cool stuff!
Metzen is a huge fan of that stuff, especially Marvel's take on norse gods.
I love going back and watching your old videos :D
I want a World of Warcraft Let's play :D You playing wow while talk about the Story of the Quests. I could watch it for Years :) Keep up the great work
Nobbel, you should have your own soundcloud or podcast, dude. I am sure I am not the only one that is listening to this as a bedtime story.
awesome vid as always. keep up the great work.
@nobbel87 Hey nobbel at 1:19 is there any explanation for the Decay and the shadowlands?
Thanks for these lore videos i really wouldn't know where to begin being
Amazing video Nobel, instantly my favourite ever of yours.
i like the way you roll the "r". just like velen does ^^ nice work and great videos :)
This was great Nobbel. I wish it was 5 hours longer :)
Ah~ your voice is so soothing. Thank you for the lively, and passionate explanation with your lovely lilt. ^-^
You are 'intune' with the story. Listening to your excitement is very interesting. Not boring at all. :)
BUT I WANT NEXT EPISODE NOW!
How about a Twin Emperor Vek'lor lore video?
I love all of these videos Nobbel87, please put them out faster.
Essentially there’s a hierarchy of gods from both light and dark fighting each other and Azeroth is their battlefield.
The Faceless One's are from Lovecraft too!!!! Luuuuuuurve it!!!!
*Elementals fighting endlessly* "Why do you do this?" Elementals- "Its fun??"
I need more lore!
Nobbel87, I love you so much for your videos!
Keep 'em comming. Please! :D
where do you get the family tree tables like the ones for the old gods at 2:26?
Nobbel do you plan on reviewing the new Warcraft trailer?
I rather not, it look shit.

I'm trying to find the video where Nobbel talks about the pandaren and how (someone) created the pandaren before the elves and humans in Azeroth. Does anyone know which video it is?
So did they retcon the whole "A Titan fell fighting the Old Gods" thing?
+Mad Max Yeah. The Titans didn't even take part in the fight themselves (except for the destruction of Y'shaarj which was very easy for Aman'Thul since apparently he just killed him with one hand)
Also the fact that a Titan fell was supposed to show us how mighty and scary the Old Gods were.

That said, I have a couple of questions regarding some info from this video. If the Well of Eternity is the band-aid/result of the wound to the Azeroth Titan Soul from Y'Shaarj being ripped out, what do you think the implications are to the Titan itself would have been when Azshara and the Highborn opened the portal to the Legion through it? The Well is basically referred to as scar tissue. So the wound is not bleeding, but not completely healed either.
That portal would have probably reopened the wound imo.
The new "wells" are just made from the arcane energies that were in the well: it's a magic source.
Question: When Galakrond's events had place?
+Sslifer01 Galakrond events happen just after the Pantheon leaves Azeroth, so they might be in the next video. (source: the book)
I'm thinking Blizzard could be using these new books to move toward the Titan soul awakening in-game. I wouldn't be mad if that's the way WoW ends. but of course, they want to milk it for all it's worth, so who knows how long that will/would take.
Your narrations are amazing, man. But, you sound so incredibly Dutch xD
Epic quality of videos. Huge thanks for sharing so much of interesting info! gg, Nobbel87
So wait, the Titans no longer gave some of their power to the Dragon Aspects for them to bring and keep order to Azeroth?
Hey Nobbel! What's the deal with Venture Co. in WoW? Are they actually digging for something mysterious or are they just excavators all around the wow universe?
You got the wrong voice file for Y'shaarj, Wowhead has it wrong too, Y'shaarj's is the one has set as N'zoth's and vice versa.
+Nobbel87 i have 2 question. Why the keepers didn´t help fighting the Legion @ War of the Ancients. And is Aggramar dead?, what happend with his weapon Taeshalach?
'Like larva from a hive'
That Starcraft reference though.
really good video. thanks for doing it
I've read the book but was left hanging about what happened to the World Soul of Azeroth after the Well of Eternity explodes, causing The Sundering. Does it is still there waiting to be born? It only took two lockouts to kill all of the elemental lords and it was likely more difficult content back then.
Impressive.
I like the proper explanation for why they only killed Y'Shaarj, the Sha never seemed THAT bad, but if killing one creates another Well of Eternity, that makes sense
Can't wait to hear about the Dragon Aspects
Hey Nobbel, i stopped playing the game after MOP, but i still enjoy the lore, I was wondering if u can make a SUM UP vidio about what happened in WOD, with all the cinematics and to line it up with the forthcoming events in Legion.
Nobbel, you mentioned 4 Old Gods in Azeroth, but what about that one in Dark Shore with a huge sword in his head? Was that a Old God or just a very powerful minion?
I got into thw WoW lore thanks to you Nobbel, so thanks for that :D
love the video. cant wait for the next one.
I would watch this, but already watched Hellscream's vid on it. So I'll just throw a like and be on my way :)
+Bremwynn You should watch it anyway cause of his Beautifull voice.
Wow, so is most of the keeper corrupted by the old gods later??
wish you would made a video talking how and why the keepers turn against the players......
soooo confuse right now....

"He unleashed the greatestof his GENITALS..." 😳
Hey Nobbel, when you max zoom out the ingame map, you will see the three planets : Azeroth, Draenor and Outland but left and right there are two guys.. who are they ?
I remember long ago fighting a battle against C’thun and becoming a Scarab Lord.
Thank you for your service
Pulling up Old Gods like weeds.
You know, Nobbel, I hate you (not). Because of your cool videos I constantly return to WoW :)
Nobbel, tell us the lore about "The Ancient One", from hearthstone!
I'm lost, why doesn't Nobbel use Mimiron's image?
+MASTERSHADOWLINX Mimiron wasn't always a mechagnome! I imagine Nobbel will talk about how that happened next week.
+MASTERSHADOWLINX I guess because because back then Mimiron wasn't a Mechagnome.
***** ah I thought he was always a mechagnome, was afraid the answer might've been that.
You should make a video on either The Bloodsail Buccaneers or the Syndicate.
God... Your story telling is better than my kindergarden teacher.
I cant help to think that Blizzard has taken a lot inspiration from norse mythology when writing this. There are also lots of norse mythology in Legion as far as I have seen.
Great video as always
why no pictures of mimiron available?
also, were the picture of y'sharaaj and N'zoth accurate or just fan arts?
+Rene-Pierre Blanchette Mimiron wasnt always a mechagnome
Loken killed sif, Thorims wife, he didnt want Mim telling so he killed him, Mimiron's gnomes contained his soul and built him a new body.
Crazylegs677 Nitin Shekhar thanks guys!
ya nobbel the best lore man ever
by ya I mean yay
