Great review JP! I’ve been gardening and undecided about what to get next. Trying to be strategic because some of these card issuers can be very picky about who they approve.
Some issuers can be picky. I always like to plan out a few cards that I'm considering getting, all with different issuers. If I apply for #1 and get denied, I will apply for card #2 immediately after. I'm okay with being denied, but I like to go out on a high note of approval 🙌🏾
Completely agree with you in terms of spreading out Cards + Points across different programs for added flexibility & opportunities with different lenders. I'm also using my Venture X as my Catch All Card- definitely a lot of value in those 2x Cap One Points. Using my $300 Travel Credit for roundtrip flights to SFO next month! Great video JP!
Great review on the cards!!! I appreciate all of the info regarding Hyatt as I have received a ton of value, with all of the promotions (2x qualifying nights etc.), brand explorer and others I’ll have 4 “free nights” by December that I’ll be able to use concurrently for Spring break 2025 with my kids. Winter break 2024 is already covered with a stay at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar all on points!! Thanks again for all of the tips!
The Gold Card only gets 4X at US restaurants, so not being accepted at some European restaurants really isn’t a big deal unless it’s your only no FTF card…
Great video and I’m waiting to do the exact same thing with my AA card because I share the same reasoning as you. I need at least 70,000 points if I’m gonna burn a 5/24 slot
Nice breakdown and how you use them!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you!!

@MattWelterOfficial The Venture X is awesome! I'm glad that you finally got approved 🙌🏾 Enjoy San Francisco

Earning 4 free nights is awesome! I'm glad to hear you're getting a ton of value from the card and program 🙌🏾
Nice video JP. Well explanation on your current thoughts on Amex Gold as you transition your food/dining to Custom Cash card.
Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed the content 🙌🏾

The Gold card gets 4x at restaurants worldwide. The supermarkets have to be in the US
So, you justify the Amex Platinum mainly as your lounge card? Even though, you do have the VX. Does that justify your annual fee? Great stuff my man.
I purchase flights with it as well. Most of my domestic flights are cash fares

Exactly. I haven't gotten a sign up bonus that has given me under 60k points in a very long time.
Great cards and setup! Rakuten is 💪 Thanks for the detailed overview JP!🫵
I appreciate you, Cesar 🙏🏾
