I know this vid is 4 years old but turns out I’m literally working at his home with my dad and yeah it’s true I talked to him and he said he’d start her up for me this is so cool!
i like the car but to me i will always love the badman model i built when i was a kid. yellow with red windows with a big block and a 4 speed. one day brother , one day!
did not know they made that. how cool and i am jealous.:)
Haha I think I've built like 5 of those at least, when they were still under 5$ at Kmart. (Late 80s)
I don't remember the red windows though, custom?
And now I'm here lookin at a gasser.
If I win a lotto or have someone hand me a bazillion dollars there would be one in the garage.
henry bourdon I had the same exact model growing up!!
The tires were too cool as was the “Adios Mother” decal on the rear of the trunk deck .
@@MrTheHillfolk the early kits had the red glass, my dad built both.
@@notablynova
Oh that's pretty cool, I looked a little more on Google
this car was at the 35th Annual Sheriff's Office Benefit in Kenner LA last Saturday. Amazing interior
Probably my main complaint is the hole cut out in the hood for the breather. I think I would have installed a shorter breather or put on a scoop. Or, as someone else said on here, maybe a different motor with a Hilborn injection setup.
Car was originally called "frost bite" and was built in fond du lac by classics plus
55 Chevy has to be my favorite car!!!!
I love this guy. DON'T............TOUCH...........MY PAINT !!! Personally, Touchy Touchertons piss me off.
+D. R. H. If I had a car like this I'd bring a velvet rope everywhere lol
I urge people to get in my car, touch it , whatever you want. It’s just a fucking car.
@@ricardo340 building a 56 gasser
Painting the fiberglass flip fornt end with black chalkboard paint and will encourage people to put their names on it
Nice.My dad had pictures of drag cars in the 60's called Lawman. They were some kinda dodges,A pair of cars that had a 413 wedge.
Yes !!! You dad's is right he's an old drag racer like me we were there !!!
Blasphemy would suck this car down its carburetor then shit it out the exhaust and it wouldn't even backfire.
Lesson # 1 people. you never touch another person's car...period!!
+Jack roper Amen! You'd think it was common sense
+Jack roper whenever I film someone's car I'm always very conscientious of this and ask before touching or doing ANYTHING. Most of them don't bat an eye but it's always best to be overly sure
Yes, you would think it would be common sense, but you know how it is with people? They don't think or are stupid. Take care!
Also BTW.. Your 55 is real nice. That's how we rolled when I was in High School in 1969. Thank you for sharing.
Yea , if a guys harping about it in a video, then people are idiots !!
Even if it's a rat rod, don't touch the damn cobwebs it's not yours!!!
That engine is so wrong for that car. A tunnelram bigblock Chevy would have been much more appropriate. Or a Hilborn injected 327. That bogus street rod engine ruins it for me.
no the ultimate was from the movie two-lane Blacktop big block for 4 speed
Nope the Ultimate is the American Graffiti car!
No solid front axle?
I cannot wait to get in one scale 25 model now make it like cool too but your car is real so one day I will make a real one
Should have left the bow-tie dash in it.
Not even close. Needs a straight axle front first and foremost. 400hp??? My stock pickup has close to that. I’ve got a 396 going in my 57’ 210 gasser build. His car is cruiser with a race look that’s about it.
Yes Chevy had a 327 with 375 horse In the late 60's straight from the factory ,,,. And that limited 302 that you could get in the 69 Cameron's were a beast !!!
Put it in a glass case if you dont like people touching it, you brought it to the wrong event if that bothers you
What criteria was established to define "ultimate"?
Orange Crate will put it away.
ua-cam.com/video/sJvd603KHUg/v-deo.html
Damn right!!!!
Check out the 55 named Orange Krate. Show car the drag races.
Needs a straight axle...but a nice gasser tribute.
Touch This !
No, this is NOT the ultimate 55 Chevy gasser. If you want to claim you have the ultimate gasser you better show up with a hell of a better car than this. Nice car for the local cars n’ coffee, but ultimate??? NO. Crappy lettering, under powered engine and what’s the deal with that lame front axle? Gassers have straight front axles. And “The Lawman” name belongs to Al Eckstrand.
They had both
Sweet 55
Nice but what I don't get is WHY everybody replace's the bowtie dash.
awesome machine
I had a perfect 55 but it was only 8years old.
It was less of an antique then I bet!
A 383 327-- right..
A 3.750 stroke crank in a .030 over 327 will get ya 383ci. 4.030x3.750.
A Coonass Gasser.. Daz da Firs ! LoL
If you gave the haters your car they wouldn't talk anymore shit about it. And if you don't want someone to touch your car, then they shouldn't touch it. Thumbs up at 88
Confusing touches.
I like Blow by you 55 lot better not that this is not a nice car
That’s no gasser
has cheap paint
