Haven't seen the whole video yet, but it's a gem so far. I never had a truly fast car, but I had a bike that was probably about 11 sec quarter mile and later a two-door 2 L inline 4 convertible (no turbo). These days, I mostly drive a 1.6 L inline 4 four-door wagon haha. Thanks for sharing these beasts. EDIT: And for those wondering engine size on the bike... I had a 1 L and a 1.3 L at one point among others.
Love the video. Reminds me of George Ray's Wildcat Hot Rod dragstrip in Paragould Arkansas. Opened as heads-up track, all concrete in 1961. Still running heads-up. Next year will be 65th season. BIG Nostalgia race June 14, 15. Possibly 2 fire burnouts like we did for Hot Rod magazine 25 years ago. If you are close by, try to be there. Chucky
I can’t believe how Car Shows continue to call Street Freaks Gassers! A Gasser is a class of Race Car where as the Street Freaks has the appearance of a Gasser but is street legal! Check with Freiberger, the editor of Hot Rod magazine to name a few and you will see I’m right! Plus there are 50s and 70s cars in here so not just 60s cars!
My recollection is that they were called gassers as they were not using nitro and so they were doing all sorts of other mods to get power such as mutiple motors and the likes. But I could be wrong on that.
If there is any voting in this video..my vote is for the pinto!! I don't care if it's not a 60s car! Hell, some of them are from the 20's, 30's and 40's 😂😂
Too bad nobody's running tri five posts anymore 😅😅😅. Not a single 50 to 54 Chevy. Two Studebakers. One Mopar. One Poncho. No Nash Ramblers or Henry Js etc. Lamest millennium ever 😢.
Gassers were my favorite bracket in the 60s when my cousin had a straight front axle 40 Ford coupe with a Big..Poncho blown motor. He sold it and bought a new 64 GTO and day two'd it and dragged it. The first car I rode in going over 100 mph on the highway 😅
So many memories come flooding back!
I Love it!.… Thanks for Sharing
This is the best muscle car videos on UA-cam!
That's the kind of grit we need on the Detroit Lions ❤❤❤ good job Kerby

Thank you and all the best to you
Black 33 willys is the coolest looking gasser ever the lace paint on the green pinto is 70's spot on !
How can a Pinto be a gasser from the 60s, when it was made in the 70s!?
Exactly!
Same with the duster but I thunk he meant the style of the 60's
More AI crap.
That's what I thought lol
Because the cars really fast in reverse!!!
Gassers are Groovy 👍

Because no one ever heard of street freaks.
The Duster is a street freak .to new to be a gasser.
Thanks .. that was fun !
That camera was so shakey, I'm sure I saw bigfoot in the tree line watching the races🙂
And now we have donks..lmao 😂 thanks gassers for giving them the idea😅
Love em 👍👍🇬🇧
The red 57' couldn't decide if it was gasser or pro street. 🤷♂️

Bro who cares what year it is just enjoy the videos man
🔥🔥
If I remember correctly....GASSERS were NATURALLY ASPIRATED... putting a blower or a turbo on a gasser, changes the classification....

@@Obsidian_Mirroryou sound vaccinated! 😂 Dang it I read the video title! 😮
Did someone really cut up a Nomad.

Cops should get that ole geezer.
Or the '71 Twister
This guy needs to learn what 60's means
First time I've seen a duster with a straight axle, looked pretty vool
That's what I was thinking Brian. And yea, it looks good!
👍👍👊
they bad MOFOs
That was back in the day when Detroit built real cars, unlike the polished turds nowadays.

We haven't gotten to electric cars yet 😅

@@TomWalters-h4n good story 👍
Gassers… competing with donks for the dumbest looking car title.
