    Very good vid. I've been changing my own oil for 40 years but couldn't see the filter position of the new car. This vid really hits the marks even for someone that has been changing oil in many machines for many years. Great work.

      Hello! Yes I will do that because time will come and our mazda 2

      Hello! The recommended viscosity of oil for this car is 0W-20 and 5W-30. I've used 5W-30 but I forgot the brand name since i dispose it after the change oil. It doesn't matter what brand it is as long as it meets the required viscosity.

      Yes. That is the OEM filter for this vehicle. Any oil should do as long as it is 5w-30 and has API SG / SH / SJ / SL / SM / SN or ILSAC GF-II / GF-III / GF-IV / GF-V. Before, I used Mitasu 5w-30 which is compatible and works great. You can use any other brands with the required specs.

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  Рік тому

      Well, it's not recommended and indicated in the manual. Others use it for the belief of oil protection under higher temperature. But, it is still better to stick with the original spec which is the 5w-30 since they are designed to run with this viscosity. As long as you use the recommended oils, you can't go wrong with it. Hope this helps. Thanks!

    What is the viscosity of the engine oil that you use sir? I just changed the transmission oil at 43k kilometers. It looks black, i changed it 2 times

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  4 роки тому

      I've used a 5w-30 engine oil. That is the recommended viscosity according to the owner's manual. It also depends on what climate or temperature you are currently in, so be sure to check your owner's manual for the right oil viscosity.
      You said that you have changed your transmission oil at 43k km, is that what you're refering that looks black and changed it 2 times?

    • @fxalexander5842
      @fxalexander5842 4 роки тому

      @@DraftProject yes, since the car new, never change the automatic transmission fluid, so at 43.000 km, i drain the fluid, looks black, so after i top up the fluid, i changed the gears from park to drive a few times, i drained the fluid again, still looks black, lol.
      Until now it's already 45k kilometers. Feels smoother after i changed the fluid

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  4 роки тому

      @@fxalexander5842 Sorry for the late response. Fluid from the transmission was transmitted to the torque converter. Half of the old fluid will remain in the torque converter which means that you won't be able to get all of the fluid by draining it from the oil pan. When you fill it up with new fluid, the new oil will be mixed with the old fluid, resulting it to a dark colored oil.
      Based on my research, some cars have drain bolt on their torque converter. I'm not sure if this Mazda 2 has one. I will check and changed the fluid once the car reached 100k km.
      As far as I know, the ATF machine fluid exchanger can do the job without a mess. But I do not recommend it since the procedure doesn't include the replacement of the transmission filter.
      Speaking of transmission filter, be sure to change your filter whenever you change your transmission fluid. Also, don't forget to clean the oil pan especially the magnet the collects the materials and sediments inside your transmission.
      Thank you very much and I hope this helps! :)

      @@DraftProject Nice, thanks! Your videos are very good, now I want to try doing my own car maintenance, hehe. Can you also do a video of what body & chassis bolts and nuts needs to tighten? The manual prescribes to do it but no list of where and how tight. I'm a Mazda 2 owner also :)

    • @DraftProject
      @DraftProject  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you very much sir! Sorry for the late response. Unfortunately, the bolts that needs to be tighten and the required specific torques for these bolts can only be found in the service manual. Since this car is somehow still new to the market, service manuals for these vehicles are hard to find and usually unavailable.
      I made a research about it and most people disregard it. Even dealerships only inspect them or sometimes do nothing about them.
      Based on my experience, there is nothing much to worry about because all bolts are factory torqued spec. The bolts are tight enough for every condition. The manual prescibes it as a preventive measure. As long as you drive your car in a normal basis and doesn't have any accident, everything is fine. Most of the time, it is only inspected whenever something major happens.
      Basically, everything you see in the engine bay chassis like the bolts for the brackets, reservoirs and etc can be check for tightening. The suspension is one of the things to consider since vibration occurs there. The bolts are in its factory spec and most of them have special washers or lock washers which prevents them from loosening.
      Checking the bolts without proper tools like torque wrench and the service manual for torque specs can lead to the risk of breaking the threads of the bolt. If I only had a service manual, I could have lend you one but unfortunately I do not have one. You can check it by feel but be sure to be careful when doing it. I hope this helps you sir! Take care! God bless!
