How do you know what Yeshua looked like? The fact that you frame your image of Him as important to you, instead of allowing Scripture to define and interpret Him, makes me wonder if you have even read the Bible?, and seen who He is really, because if you had with eyes that truly see, and ears that truly hear, you would have noticed how the Most High is described, His physical attributes, and that Yeshua ONLY cared about the heart. Yeshua wouldn't care one bit about how he was portrayed in terms of His physicality, only that His words were accurately portrayed so that their meaning and their Spirit brought clarity, clarity of His Spirit, His Love, and His Light! This a a great discussion, such respect for each other's beliefs. This is pure religion on screen, to be open minded brings the spirit and The Chosen episodes are touching people's hearts ☺. Thank you Dallas and the team.
I’d say being “open minded” in the sense of allowing room for totally opposing views, especially ones that clearly contradict scripture, is dangerous. we are told to test all things, and that the spiritual man judges all things.

The keyword here is "plausible". If only we can do away with the "rigid legalism" and just enjoy the show, then there shouldn't be criticisms, instead, there should be compliments on how the bible is brought to life and help us want to dive deeper to the Word of God. So I for one am going to say "Thank You, Jesus! Thank You for leaving us with such rich words that even if we study Your Word 24/7, we would still be in awe of what You have done and what You are doing. Thank You for such creativity, even by The Chosen Team. Thank You, Dallas Jenkins, and each and everyone who made a commitment to make this show possible." I can't wait for the succeeding seasons! Keep up the good work! :)
I have never seen Jesus portrayed in such a relatable way in any other movie or series. In other versions he always seems sad and disappointed because of mankind's ways. In this series he is totally relatable as a human being that you would have liked and been drawn too. I have seen the first season several times and recommended many family and friends to watch it including non Christians. The response has been overwhelmingly positive. I love that Jesus is shown with a sense of humor and kindness in getting to know everyone he meets. His understanding of each individual and love he has for his followers regardless of their past is truly a gift for your heart and has brought my personal faith closer to him. Thank you for this gift.
I love seeing this. The show is amazing! But the fact that people from several faith traditions can talk in respect for each other, that is terrific as well. We all worship the same God, after all!
"blessed be the peacemakers" - this round table of religious traditions representation is a table where peace is existing - especially pertinent in view of history. it's a blessing that this TV show is assisting toward transcending beyond regrettable aspects of that past history
The woman by the well...my favorite scripture... At this round table discussion we see all barriers shattered to pieces. Thanks God for inspiring the making of the Chosen.
The woman kept building religious barriers " thats the fountain of our father Jacob"..." thats the mount we worship"... and Jesus just catch her attention with the things she really needed to hear, unfolding her heart to the truth she needed a Messiah more than man made traditions, desperately. Hes always one step ahead our best arguments hahah
Dallas has directed the most beautiful depiction of Christ, His disciples, and the stories he told her brought to life in the most delightful way. I cannot wait for Season 2. Thank you Dallas. I don't know how we can thank you enough! Just in time for the World Revival!
I love how much thought, prayer and contemplation went into the creation of each episode. Thank you for all of this work - it blesses and enhances the final product, for sure!
I’m really believing that Gods hand is really at work here in this series about Christ!! I thank the Lord for such great writers. May He continue to Bless all of your efforts to present our Christ to the world!! I’m always so excited to see your film!! I just love them!!
Episode one I watched halfheartedly - not really focused enough to catch what this person Lilith was doing or who she was. When Jesus calls her out as Mary and says YOU ARE MINE - my insides both crumbled and exploded!!! The music crescendo empowered the visual and in that moment I was totally and completely hooked!!! This did start the series off with a tremendous bang. I dont normally like to watch the thing with powerful spiritual significance being dissected down to the nuts and bolts for it tends to 'naturalize' and minimize a the thing that had a spiritual weightiness; however, I enjoyed this discussion greatly and appreciate the varying religious perspectives. Its like everything being done around this series is just so anointed and seems to be a demonstration of God's stamp of approval.
The Chosen is going to talk to many people from different backgrounds! A very anointed work and I truly see a lot of depth and great effect in it. We need to share them with all others we know. Blessings
Is there anyone who was raised in Christianity who didn't wish they had lived in the Bible Days and experienced seeing Jesus and the disciples? I know I did ! This Series is giving me a chance to Be There, to Experience personally the life of Jesus. There is a huge Emotional Impact and not just when there are Miracles. Seeing people's lives changed by their contact with Jesus is so moving. I have been brought to tears for some reason in Every Episode, in both happy and sad situations. This is reviving my spirit and inspiring me to reconnect with the Lord in a deeper way ! Thank you! This is a real Blessing !
I would like to tell you that I was gambling, not drinking and was touched by the Holy Spirit. I didn't even know it was the Holy Spirit. I knew instantly that something Holy touched me. I ran and told my husband something Holy touched me. That day changed my life forever... Love the Chosen.
I agree with what Dr. Huffman said about how we "flatten" scripture. I had a hard time relating to who each of these characters were. Perhaps it's a lack of imagination or something, but it actually made it harder to understand. I have since had a better understanding and relationship with my bible but it was seeing past the black and white text to do that. This series has furthered my understanding of scripture by understanding the possibilities of what their character was like.
wow i have learnt so much and from different perceptions of christ God bless yall not to mention am a cross between pentacostal and evangelical, i got know why haven't i been watching these discussions!!

You are not alone. Most of us do. Of course, that is the will of God that we know that He is always with us and we have an intimate relationship and The Chosen aims to achieve that and many other important messages of the Gospel.
The more I learn about this production the more I appreciate the work and dedication of all involved, but above all, the love I have for the Lord only increases. He’s being glorified! ❤️
Hello Dallas I just want to say thank you for showing Peter breaking the commandments of the Sabbath cause many, many , many of us do that and that's what is happening. This literally helps us understand nothing happens when you put everything else first and God last or even so it is ok to break a commandment for our needs cause our needs are provided by our Heavenly Father so really it is not an option or a choice breaking a commandment. We have to keep each of them.
I just praise God for the huge amount of work Dallas, the cast and the crew are putting into creating the Chosen, yet making sure it honors Scripture by consulting Bible scholars. Many thanks!
I want to share about my near-death-experience together with my deceased daughter. It's a NDE story about the way our lives are judged and measured and analyzed by ETERNITY. It's about the strength of forgiveness that can change everything for the better, even on the other side. It's a story of hope and blessings to everyone who is looking for a PROOF OF ETERNITY, and that's the title of my book PROOF OF ETERNITY by Alba Monn. It's a story of hope and blessings to everyone who is mourning about the loss of a loved one, especially for parents who have lost their own children. I came to testify that ETERNITY is a fact, that our loved ones live on on the other side, that they want for us to be comforted and completely consoled by the truth, because the truth will set you free. Blessings to everyone
Love these conversations! So appreciate learning from the different perspectives represented here. Thanks, Dallas, for going “the extra mile”: to ensure historical/cultural authenticity and creative plausibility for The Chosen.
After watching a few episodes, I really enjoyed this conversation explaining some of the details and background on the production of The Chosen. Your hard work is very much appreciated!
What a great table talk. Thank you for this Dallas! Clarifying the purpose of the why and how the chosen came to life is fantastic. I've read the bible many times and I still have many questions to understand what was going on in that time. Your project has just been a bigger resource to my learning of the word of God. My imagination has never gone so far like yours has. Thank you for being so creative and bringing something new to us all. I am enjoying everything you and everyone involved are doing, the behind the sense, funny videos, the set, getting to know the cast,, etc.
I’m touched by the tangible reality of the humanity of Jesus, and the thoroughness that’s woven into every aspect of this amazing portrayal of Jesus bar Joseph. Who earned His Chosen position of The Messiah… Our Lord and Savior Jesús Christ. Bravo👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Love that these faiths came together, it’s amazing how much each belief has so many more similarities then sometimes we realize. We need to give credit to that and recognize that we are not all as different as some would like us to believe.
Dallas, I am a modern Catholic, so I don’t know why other Catholics will take bad. I am new to you, your community and especially to The Chosen. However, I love this type of round tables and for what is worth, you should keep doing them. God love you and your family.
I really enjoyed episode 1, and enjoyed this dialogue!!! Very happy that these voices were heard, and the writers took their views and expertise into account. Can't wait to continue watching.
I love this show. I don't know enough about Judaism. It really is amazing to me. I find that I have grown spiritually from this show. There is so much of our Christian heritage that we don't know about. I appreciate it so much. I am donating to the show tomorrow. It really is so needed. Even my teenager's love it, and the one is wanting the t-shirt for his birthday!
I disagree as a Catholic. I have no qualms with Simon Peter and how he was portrayed. We remember that Peter denied knowing Christ 3 times. He was anointed on Pentecost and went on to head the church and die for his faith. Saints were human ! They struggled and inevitably chose to give it all to The Lord in true obedience. No need to be scared of that portrayal. Love the show!!
Why did it take me so long to find this!?! I was talking about the show with a friend over a campfire and he turned me on to the extra stuff. Thank you so much for this ministry and may God continue to bless you and keep you safe!
Your not alone in that. Learned of it a few months ago and tried to watch the first episode, couldnt get into it. There was alot of distractions while we were trying to watch. Revisited it a couple weeks ago.....and really engaged! Binged the entire first season, and first three episodes of S2 in a couple days. Absolutely cannot get enough of this bonus content now waiting for new episodes to be released.
This is so interesting and the fact that you have cared about all of the faiths that are affected by the story of the chosen and accepted their counsel is obviously a strong component of why this series resonates with so many and touches us on a deep level. One thing that is confusing to me it that I always thought the admonishment at the end of Revelation applied only to the Book of Revelation. The New Testament as a whole was not put together as a "book" until after John's time.
The Holy Spirit ignites the imagination and fills in the beautiful details making this just come alive in ways that are true....Deeply moving and alive!
I love how at 31:14 when he’s describing redemption and exile that the catholic and evangelical both start to smile and get happy knowing that the difference is God being there.

Thank you Dallas for being so open-minded to have an open discussion and understanding of all denominations. You are a role model for the world for how disagreements or differences can be done respectfully. I wish our entire world in the religious and political Arena could work that way! Wouldn't that be amazing?! We all love our Lord and we all are doing our best to serve him.The panel was very kind and understanding and respectful of each other's differences. Dallas I understand that some evangelicals believe that we Catholics idolize statues but that is not true we honor the beautiful historical religious people in scriptural history. We honor Mary the Mother of God, we do not worship her. Miracles have been done through the power of Jesus through his mother with many miraculous appearances through history to encourage people to pray . Catholics pray to Mary with the Hail Mary prayer using verses from the scriptures of the Bible to ask her to pray to her son Jesus for us as her intercession with Jesus is a very strong bond. That bond is beautifully exemplified in the movie The Chosen. Great Job Dallas!
Why were the round tables removed from The Chosen app? I only viewed a few but looked forward to getting through them eventually. I loved how the focus was on what brings us together as believers rather than what divides us.
21:40 “evangelicals are very sceptical about calling anyone a saint”? Saint is the word used by most translations to talk about anyone who is saved and made holy through Christ’s death. If you’re a true Christian, if Christ actually lives in you, then you are a saint. Even if you don’t feel like one.
@@FiatVTua333 Yes. But I'd say much more than that. We are saints in the present. We have been given His righteousness. We grow into who we already are in Him. Bless you 😁
In the Catholic faith a saint is a person who makes it to heaven. Saint with a capital 'S' is a someone who has Died and has enough miracles attributed to the intercession of that person therefore we KNOW that person is in heaven. We believe the miracles would not have happened if that person is not in the presence of God in heaven. They are in God's presence in Heaven which is why the miracles came to pass. To clarify, God chooses to grant the miracle because of the Saint praying for it.
am thinking the context was more about canonization of an honorific sainthood status - not salvation status. Evangelicals might be ok with St. Peter or St. Paul, but start to squirm a bit when going beyond the apostles in so far as using that appellation as part of the person's title
I agree with the evangelical preacher, I couldn't wait to grab my Bible, The Chosen helped to deepen the connection, and helped me to imagine what the characters were going through in the moment and what they may have been like, (like the Catholic priest encouraged).
Same here. The practice of imaginatively reading the scriptures by St Ignatius of Loyola is truly a powerful and immersive experience. (See Ignatian Contemplation) It's like a time machine that transports you to Jesus' time. I imagine how I would feel, what my reactions would be, what I would say to Jesus, and what He would say to me. Sometimes I imagine I'm one of His disciples. There are moments when I'm crying especially when meditating on the passion narrative/the sorrowful mysteries of the rosary. When meditating on the mysteries of the rosary, I imagine holding Mother Mary's hand as she walks me through her Son's life and try to empathize with her and imagine how she's feeling; like when the Angel Gabriel appeared to her in the annunciation, her worry when her Son is missing, her agony when her Son is being humiliated, tortured, and killed, etc.
About Mary and Jesús scenes; when she sadly said “He doesn’t need me anymore” brought tears to my eyes, been there said that, but a nice laughter when he came back tires to the camp. No Matt how old your children are you are there for them🙏🙏
I'm pretty sure this will never reach Dallas but I truly hope we get many more of these roundtable discussions between the four of you because it is an eye-opener as to what sort of discussions occur behind the scenes to come to the storyline portrayed in the chosen episodes. Really interesting!!
I’m really appreciative of the effort that was put into this show, and I love the fact that these round tables are held with constructive criticism from people who know what they’re talking about. It’s awesome to see these traditions in conversation with eachother: this is *real* ecumenicism - the kind that really matters.
@@jamesmaher1989 yeah you don't understand what i'm trying to say. yes i practice my faith but i'm still in the fork road of Catholicism or orthodoxy. what i'm trying to say is about protestantism
The marriages of Peter & Nicodemus were eye opening! One wife expected her husband to follow Jesus. The other wife wants her ‘old life’ back. She seemed to shame Nicodemus into doing ‘the right thing’. My heart broke for Nicodemus.
As someone who is theologically and philosophically inclined I appreciate The Chosen as it provides a decent amount of context (with some artistic liberties to be sure) of the Gospel narratives to a large group of believers and non-believers alike who I believe like me appreciate a point of context to connect more with the Gospel narratives. I also like that it is providing alternative “entertainment” (or perhaps “edutainment”is a better word?) that carries themes that are redemptive and hopeful in juxtaposition to the overwhelming hedonistic and nihilistic content that seems to be popular on streaming platforms these days.
In the last day there will only be two churches. I love the unbiased faith of those who love and serve God coming together to make this film. It's a beautiful work.
Excellent, excellent, it makes one feel how REAL these people were. I wonder how many people really do take that day of rest especially today. I was in a detox unit in Florida in a horrible physical and spiritual condition, waiting for an ambulance to take me to the ER because my blood pressure became uncontrollable when Jesus changed my life..so portraying Jesus going into a bar in my opinion is great and probably something he would have done to save that one sheep, he often used that in his parables. Did he not?
Dallas (and Team), I believe your "ad libbing of what the Bible actually says... by putting "filler" that shows some of what everyday life in that time, might have looked like was great. There appear to be "historical" style authenticity to the filler that's used. I believe GOD'S blessings are on this fantastic job you all have done. Continue the great work, in Jesus name.💞

We are all children of the One Holy One - "Eyeh Escher Eyeh". This whole series rings true. Much gratitude for you all.
i’ve read my Bible cover to cover, like a novel, and now on my 2nd round. BUT after watching the Chosen series, it’s become MORE ALIVE for me…. their humor, their heartaches, their doubts, their faith…. EVEN their names, now i know who is who EASILY.
Thank you, Chosen team! ❤❤❤
A discussion rich in wisdom, honesty and insight. More of this please!

I love the commonalities revealed through this discussion. Faith really is beautiful.
My fave also!! 👏🙏❤
I really like how they did this. Please please PLEASE continue these round tables.
Watching The Chosen makes me feel closer to Jesus
Dallas has directed the most beautiful depiction of Christ, His disciples, and the stories he told her brought to life in the most delightful way. I cannot wait for Season 2. Thank you Dallas. I don't know how we can thank you enough! Just in time for the World Revival!
I am a lifelong Catholic and I really enjoy this show. God bless you!
I love how much thought, prayer and contemplation went into the creation of each episode. Thank you for all of this work - it blesses and enhances the final product, for sure!
You see - this show also inspired more dialog between churches
Oh, I think Jesus really loves it 😊
I’m really believing that Gods hand is really at work here in this series about Christ!!
Its like everything being done around this series is just so anointed and seems to be a demonstration of God's stamp of approval.
same 😂 thank you for describing the feeling perfectly ! that moment
I really like the openness in this ecumenical discussion.
Yehshua...Messiah for all. His name MEANS salvation!!!
God bless this program, in Christ Jesus. Amen.
wow i have learnt so much and from different perceptions of christ God bless yall not to mention am a cross between pentacostal and evangelical, i got know why haven't i been watching these discussions!!
My family is all what I would call devout Catholics and we love The Chosen! They do a phenomenal job bringing the scripture to life! We tell everyone to watch it! Thank you to all your hard work Dallas! Praying for you and all of The Chosen team!
Keep this up and you are going to create a wonderful, respectful world where we LISTEN to each other!!!!!!
Our Father in heaven must be “well pleased”. THANK YOU!!!!
I really felt close to Jesus after watching The Chosen
You are not alone. Most of us do. Of course, that is the will of God that we know that He is always with us and we have an intimate relationship and The Chosen aims to achieve that and many other important messages of the Gospel.
@Gabriel Wilder I can't believe this worked! Give it a try!

I am only alive due to Jesus. I was supposed to be dead from a car wreck on Oct 22, 1999. Almost 21 years. I love these films.

What I love the most about this series is how it shows the human side of those we have read about in the Bible. It makes things more real
The more I learn about this production the more I appreciate the work and dedication of all involved, but above all, the love I have for the Lord only increases. He’s being glorified! ❤️
Agree and thankful.
1st time listening in on the roundtable discussion. Really appreciate the depth of searching and understanding. These teachers really teach!
Hello Dallas
I just want to say thank you for showing Peter breaking the commandments of the Sabbath cause many, many , many of us do that and that's what is happening. This literally helps us understand nothing happens when you put everything else first and God last or even so it is ok to break a commandment for our needs cause our needs are provided by our Heavenly Father so really it is not an option or a choice breaking a commandment. We have to keep each of them.
i just want to say this... cool profile picture lol
Y.E.S. ! ! ! This just gets better and better. I truly love y'all. "...For such a time as this..."
THANK YOU DALLAS. I FEEL MUCH MORE SAFE WITH YOUR ATTENTION TO DETAILS AND GOD.
Love these conversations! So appreciate learning from the different perspectives represented here. Thanks, Dallas, for going “the extra mile”: to ensure historical/cultural authenticity and creative plausibility for The Chosen.
Very good talks and helpful to bring bible to live today. Thank you very much
After watching a few episodes, I really enjoyed this conversation explaining some of the details and background on the production of The Chosen.
Thank you so much for all your efforts to make this show as authentic as possible GOD bless you all
This show is SO anointed! It has made such an impact in my life. I love the level of excellence in every detail of the show.
I have to say that I love this roundtable and I learnt a lot about the differents traditions of religions
Love the show!!
yeah evangelicals is really annoying lol, they are just spiritually dead, most of the american one
@@feliciaf8 how many do you actually know , personally?
@@feliciaf8 evangelicals put this show together. Dallas is an evangelical.
@@liljade53 yeah that's the sad part, i hope it was written by catholics or orthodox

Mary's declaration in Luke 1:46ff is profound. "My soul magnifies the Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God MY Saviour..."
Absolutely cannot get enough of this bonus content now waiting for new episodes to be released.
are you nuts? Catholics are NOT Christians.
This is the best.I am sharing all I know about CHOSEN. God bless
I'm New in The Chosen App. I'm from.Colombia. God bless You. You bring heaven on heart.
I love how at 31:14 when he’s describing redemption and exile that the catholic and evangelical both start to smile and get happy knowing that the difference is God being there.
are you nuts? Catholics are NOT Christians.
@@56pjr how dare you judge my salvation! Judge not lest you be judged. For with what judgement you judge, you shall be judged... Matt 7:1-2

Great discussion! Some fascinating revelation. Looking forward to seeing this in Canada!
This series makes the story look real and you are drawn in because they feel like we would feel if Jesus came now in our time to our village.
This was really a enlightening table talk....God bless you men of courage
I think this show is magnificent. Just Love it soooo much.
Thank you so much for all of this, every piece of content I have watched from this show was amazing!
Why were the round tables removed from The Chosen app? I only viewed a few but looked forward to getting through them eventually. I loved how the focus was on what brings us together as believers rather than what divides us.
not removed, just placed in a folder “Bible Stuff” at the heading along with the “Home” button
Thank You so much Dallas! I am so Grateful ☺
We are all saints in the making, I agree. Jesus only got the process started
Paul, but start to squirm a bit when going beyond the apostles in so far as using that appellation as part of the person's title
amen, if we’ve been sanctified by the blood of Jesus then we are saints
I am so glad you guys are having these discussions. It’s just so cool
What a great conversation about interpretation of the Bible.
I'm a fairly traditional orthodox Catholic (not a sedevacantist though!) and I love 'The Chosen' !!!!
I’m really appreciative of the effort that was put into this show, and I love the fact that these round tables are held with constructive criticism from people who know what they’re talking about. It’s awesome to see these traditions in conversation with eachother: this is *real* ecumenicism - the kind that really matters.
used to be these traditions really upheld but not anymore
Bird man: I don’t agree or understand ! Do you practice your faith? If not how can you judge others?
@@jamesmaher1989 yeah you don't understand what i'm trying to say. yes i practice my faith but i'm still in the fork road of Catholicism or orthodoxy. what i'm trying to say is about protestantism
birdman that’s ok 👍 perhaps each faith tradition helps us to approach and draw closer to God? Perhaps no single tradition gives us the whole picture?
The marriages of Peter & Nicodemus were eye opening! One wife expected her husband to follow Jesus. The other wife wants her ‘old life’ back. She seemed to shame Nicodemus into doing ‘the right thing’. My heart broke for Nicodemus.
Well N's wife didn't know he met the Messiah. You cannot compare both situations and shouldn't blame N's wife
@@CoachMischatrue, but N’s wife also didn’t care enough at what is bothering N, why he wanted to stay. She just assumed he is being silly.
Thank you Dallas, for acknowledging what Greek believers have done for Christianity. Its often overlooked
Excellent, excellent, it makes one feel how REAL these people were. I wonder how many people really do take that day of rest especially today. Some of us break the rule but it doesn't mean we love God any less. I never gave thought to Matthew being such a young person. All I can say is I can't wait for 5 through 8.
TOM EDDY....NOWHERE IN THE BIBLE DOES IT TELL MATTHEWS AGE ..HE ALSO WAS NOT AUTISIC..THAT WAS ADDED TO GIVE HIM A PERSONALITY...LESS IS SAID ABOUT MATTHEW THAN ANY OTHER PROPHET...
Wish all 8 episodes of the discussion panels were on UA-cam. Only seen this one. Can't watch on my phone cause it would eat up my data like a lot... Can't wait for more episodes! God bless!
Jesus Christ is the way the truth and the life
I loved listening to this dialog. Fascinating ! Thank you.
We are are going to start a group discussion (a book club) within a few of my church friends; and using many of these questions as talking points. Thank you!!!
This is awesome, I was literally having a discussion with a friend today about that last verse in Revelation. I think it is cool, y'all are like the God's knights of The Chosen round table! I asked God if watching this I was ok, as He has convicted me on other things in the past and told me to avoid some entertainment. This show you have made, it is good. God definitely has a hand in this and I am excited for season 2!
Hey thankyou so much for the Chosen...I love how it relates with my life...i am now able to relate more with Jesus
I hope you will be able to do the same with every othe book in the Bible. The old testament.Bring the relatability of the scripture....You are a blessing may God continue to increase you.
You did this series about Jesus very well. The best I've seen.
What a fascinating discussion! Putting things into perspective...
