Great job on the paint scheme. That's my friend driving his Le Man's MX5 in the photo at the beginning of the video so it's a car I know personally which is great. In fact I almost bought it myself.. ATB, John.
Many thanks - it took me so long to get the confidence to start painting and adding the decals but at least it is a lot of straight lines rather than curves. The orange is very bright! 😎
Thomas you have done an AMAZING job on this one of a kind model! I like the roof on but it hides your interior work. I never tried to adapt decals from another car to create an entirely new version. Looks like fun. Look forward to the next video.
Many thanks, Richard. Yeah, it's cool that it can be opened up - I thought about not doing the roof at all but I'm glad I did. You should definitely try a racing conversion like this.

Another great build, Thomas. Very original. The rear wing is a bit too whide, but not unusual for a hill climb or a Pikes Peak car. Love the livery. It's another car in your collection that nobody else has. After winning the 1991 Le Mans 24H, the Mazda's 787B rotary engine was banned. BTW Bertrand Gachot was Belgian not French. Also very good of you to warn people for resin dust !!!! Love your builds, until next time.
Many thanks, Ed. Yeah, their next le Mans car had a V10 and was based on the TWR Jaguar I believe. From what I've read, Gachot was born in Luxembourg and drove under the French, Belgian and even the European flag during his career. I said he was French because this car has the French flag next to his name.
@@BOABModels Yes Thomas you're right, I didn't notice the french flag alongside his name. sorry. I think he was in F1 in the early 90's and he had to miss a race because he was in jail ! Molesting a London cabdriver?
Well Thomas I think that your "outside the square" treatment was well worth the effort. The 787 decals really set it off and the little touches like the roll cage and front splitter came out very well. The rear spoiler looks a bit large for the scale but overall you should be very proud of the model. You mentioned you found the roll cage etc on eBay. We don't seem to have a supplier like yours here in Aus. unfortunately but will keep looking Cheers and keep them coming.
Thanks a lot, Allan. Yeah, it's certainly different! Good luck finding some bits - I've seen the site BNA model world in Australia has some good stuff - I ordered my extra Renault R23 decals from there last year.
@@BOABModels Hi Thomas, Yes I use BNA quite a bit for my consumables but we don't seem to have much in the way of the roll bar type bits and also decals are hard to find. I usually get decals from Indycals in the states although with our borders still closed, it's a bit hard getting anything from the states at present. Keep up the good work and I'll be watching. I'm building an old Monogram kit Rolls Royce Roadster phantom 2 and the amount of flash and mold lines is doing my head in.
@@allanlowe9346 I can imagine getting things delivered to the bottom of the world can be a a bit challenging sometimes! I've never made any Monogram kits I think - good luck with it!
Thomas, for a "what if" build, its come out very well, not sure about the rear wing tho', would look more in proportion on shorter supports and mounted on the boot. Brilliant paint job and the decals look spot on. Well done!👍 spares box envy😂😂
Thanks Paul - yeah, the wing isn't exactly realistic but then this isn't a real car! Hasegawa and Fujimi kits are very good for filling up the spares box!

Oh wow, that's awesome! It's a great looking car. Thanks a lot for watching!
Wow! That's really nice. Great build my friend
Many thanks, Steve 😁👍
Brilliant. I used to sell Mazdas and I was at Le Mans when they won .What a great build and an inspiration to us mere mortal modellers~ well done
Haha - I'm pretty sure I'm mortal too! 😅 Wow, I hear the 787b sounded incredibly loud!
@@BOABModels It really did I took my 12 year old son and a couple of motor trade mates it was great
Wow!
Great Job , turned out looking like a young Mazda Cousin of its older Mazda Uncle , I like it.....
Many thanks Alan!
That is very nice. You did an excellent job. I love it with the top on the car.
Many thanks, Michael. Yeah, I was happy with how I got the pattern to continue.
. This is a Really Cool build!!!! Looks Great!!!! Love the livery on the Miata.
Thank you very much, Mike 👍
Look at this awesome crazy mental build! Great execution on this Thomas, I really like how it turned out
Many thanks Chris. Now I've got two weird Mazdas on the channel!
Wow! Not an easy masking and decal job, but you got them spot on! The model is definetely an eye catcher on the shelf. Congratulations!

That looks terrific.
Many thanks!

Yes, that's right! He was replaced at Jordan for the Belgian GP by Michael Schumacher which then led to him getting a contract at Benetton!
Nice build & clean work.... keep up the good work...🤘🤘🤘
Many thanks, Faizal 👍

Many thanks, Mike 👍😁
A 100% "like"! So unusual. I'm not a fan of MX-5 but 878-style turns it on.
Many thanks - yeah, I do like the MX-5 but as I'd already made a stock one, I wanted to do something different. I think I have achieved that! 😅
i really like this version , i buy 1 and gonna do something like this, great job my friend thats fantastic
Many thanks for watching and I'm glad you liked it! It was a fun experiment!

Thank you!
did you post this in the facebook group?
I think so...
wow, the wing and front lip aren't subtle are they? 😂 Love how this ended up. Amazing paint and decal work. Glad to see something so unique.
Many thanks, Spencer. Yeah, a bit out of the box for me but the livery is so unusual that I wanted the whole car to be different I guess.
