Over 25 years after the merger and Santa Fe finally takes charge on a BNSF business train it is indeed the return of a super chief LONG LIVE THE SANTA FE!
Great video and catch! Would love to get one of those B40-8Ws still wearing its original warbonnet scheme some day, admittedly I doubt it'll ever happen though.
This is really cool to see but I operate one of those 500s every day on our local and I am sure that was extremely stressful for the engineer. The officer train is never a very relaxing job and those old units don’t load quickly and the dynamics work extremely poorly, only making your job as an engineer harder
@ryan_danger This was a deadhead move, so there was no corporate brass on board. From what I was told, the GEVO originally pulling it was having issues and 552 was the only other engine available.
An original warbonnet pulling a special WITH its ORIGINAL RS3L! Dude, you just got the catch of the century! Nicely done
We got a return of the Warbonnet to passenger trains before we got GTA 6
RETURN OF THE SUPER CHIEF
Very cool catch.
When I found this video this shocked me I would love to see this!!!
Nice catch!

@@Express-engine_productions I know about the preserved one, lol. Me being able to see that's still a bit slim, IIRC.
@@freebrickproductions just have to look in the right spots buddy! I've got multiple photos of them!
@@PrairieLands702 Unfortunately, I don't live in BNSF territory, lol.
@@freebrickproductions where do you live
Someone pulled some strings to make that happen.
Actually, the GEVO that was supposed to pull the train was having issues and 552 was the only other engine available.
@ oh fr?
@@metalheadrailfanthat GEVO breakdown was 100% intentional
@Hyce777 I’m surprised to see them do this based on your stories and the stories I’ve heard from BNSF people about repainting locomotives
This was probably one of the best catches of 2024. Awesome job!
Great catch! Thanks for sharing it
We got the dash 8 leading the super chief before gta 6 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🗣️🔥🔥🗣️🔥🗣️
