@baboonlurker the cymbals are real cymbals which of course do not come with the kit. The pad on the left above the floor tom triggers an analog hihat module which had been available during 1981 (Musicaid time) and early 1982 until Simmons replaced it by the digital hihat module
Great video! it's a shame that the old sds 7 modules have crappy connectors.. Should be possible to retrofit them with better ones, but then you'll probably have to rebuild it from scratch.. Anyway.. Nice!
(it's me, but answering under a different user) The pitch is quite low, close to a kickdrum's pitch, a bit of bend-down, decay in the middle (not too short, not too long), noise about in the middle, noise tone pretty high, much attack. Must have been something like that. But keep in mind: It's analog gear! If you have two snare modules, their filters might react totally different
You're a great singer and drummer! Thanks for these Simmons videos.
Great video and fantastic performance! Very nice drum set too, I wish I had these.
Excellent beautiful sublime inmortal. The 80 amazing rules.

amazing analog sounds. Simmons electronic drums are excellent
Why can't Dave Simmons do a Comeback like Bob Moog, Dave smith and Tom Oberheim?
Too bad you couldent do a version of Naked Eyes "Always Something There To Remind Me"
Great demo of the brain and pads. Once again Wolfgang, you've done a better job at capturing the song than the original artists.
You sing much better than the original!

Omg dude can you send me the sdsv settings for that snare??? It would be mazing

Do you have a SDS 2000? If so, I'd love to hear it on here. They're hard to come by.
