Yup exactly. Pretty shitty. Goes to show you the politicians don't give a shit of our people and these sacred lands. Take a look at Oahu it's a waste now. I can never go back there. Nui Aina is our last stand and we all must defend her loving land. Hopefully they will never get a chance at building their scientific b.s. so that Mauna Kea and her lava will flow in that direction and over flow their project. In due time... In due time. Mauna Kea will get her revenge. Aloha Nui Loa... Hana Hou! EA!
ua-cam.com/video/TrqNyfXDs-U/v-deo.html A completed structural footprint of the TMT would be larger than the footprint of the Eiffel Tower,5 acres,3 football fields or 217,800 square feet. The telescope itself would take up 34,000 square feet. The support and office building would cover 21,000 square feet.It would add 3,400 ft of new road. The construction footprint of the project would disturb over 8 acres.excavate 64,000 cubic yards of summit area. The construction is proposed for the northern plateau, some of the last undeveloped area on the summit. The structure would interrupt view plane to Haleakalā It would be visible from 14% of the island, including Waimea Park, Puʻu Kapu & Wa'awa'a, Honoka'a, & Pu'ukohalā Current telescopes are visible from 43% of the island.Telescope operations will create 74 dbA of noise.Would produce 120-250 cubic feet of solid waste a week. Would use 5,000 gallon underground tank to store hazardous chemicals Road would require additional construction on Puʻu Kūkahau'ula. The Final EIS for the project admits that telescope construction has had a substantial adverse impact on the natural and cultural resources of the conservation district on the summit. www.tmt.org/ The University Board of Regents and the developers of this project have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars propaganda, assuring us that TMT will have little impact on the summit and that past problems with resource management have been fixed.Even the illegal and usurpative occupational Government's law doesn't allow for the TMT to built. Hawaii Administrative Rules section 13-5 (page 5-21) outlines again eight criteria that must be met before the Board can allow construction in a conservation district, like Mauna Kea.The most obvious:4. The proposed land use will not cause substantial adverse impact to existing natural resources within the surrounding area, community, or region; 5. The proposed land use, including buildings, structures and facilities, shall be compatible with the locality and surrounding areas, appropriate to the physical conditions and capabilities of the specific parcel or parcels; 6. The existing physical and environmental aspects of the land, such as natural beauty and open space characteristics, will be preserved or improved upon, whichever is applicable; The TMT can't satisfy these criteria. It would multiply industrial land use on Mauna Kea, forever altering the natural beauty and sacred vista of the northern plateau. Construction will impact fragile habitats of native plants and animals found only on Mauna Kea, with no guarantee of restoration when the lease term ends, in a mere 22 years. The mountain, and the people, have already suffered forty years of unjust, unlawful industrial development. Mauna Kea is conservation lands, public trust lands, and "ceded" crown lands. Mauna Kea is wahi pana, wao akua, dwelling of Wākea, home of Poli'ahu, and beloved of Līlīnoe.
Shaquira-Taiquana Jashanna Tyteyana Patriciana Yoseline Thank you for sharing this! You are awesome for finding this info. These people should be exposed world wide!
Victor Garcia Whether TMT is "nonprofit" or not, profits will be made by the manufacturing and labor of the construction of TMT- profits that will go to governments and corporations- not to locals and native Hawaiians. I love astronomy and understand the benefit of scientific studies but it is not worth it if it is at the expense of our environment and natural resources. Aloha 'Aina is the main concept here. The construction of such a massive project would change our island forever. I think it's ironic that scientists want to learn more about the universe at the expense of native cultures that have always understood more about the universe than these scientists will ever learn by looking through a telescope. If you do not understand the concept of Aloha 'Aina then you will never be able to understand the universe in the way it is meant to be understood.
I'm proud to be from Hawaii and I believe in compromise. The days of old are behind us and we move toward the future as a progressive people. We don't need to conform completely, but compromise is a necessity. No one is no longer "pure blood" so those who attempt to use that as an excuse only shame there families, people, and self. It's time to compromise in all forms.
Lol this youtube ID I've had since I was like 12. Feel free to look me up. Tama Paogofie-Buyten. I don't think they come anymore local than me my braddah.
Karen Crutcher Aunty, no disrespect intended, but just reread that whole statement and realize that the Hawaiian people today are much more than just Hawaiian these days. We all are a melting pot of cultures. I am Samoan/ Dutch born and raised on the Big Island my whole life. I feel pretty Hawaiian, but I believe in compromise for people. Peaceful protest all the way! A true Chief realizes when it is time to fight and when it is time to move into the future together as the melting pot that we are today. People like yourself will cause more problems than solve. Aloha
To Karen; Thank you for the knowledge. I'm really not educated in the matter well enough. Wow that could really be a bad thing for them. There is a part of me that believes they were brainwashed and I think it has to do with the injustice that took place a long time ago and I feel that it needs to be corrected. I hope it gets worked out. It's all so sad expecially watching innocent people be arrested. I'm preying for good things to happen. If they ever touch our mauntain for the peanut money I'm gonna be sooo mad. So I really need to stand strong. Thank you Karen.
Soooo sad! But thank you to all you OFFICERS for doing your job! Everyone has to do there job. Totally understandable! I'm just sad that it has to come to this! At least it no one was hurt physically! Thank you for that part! Good job.
I do NOT respect these Police Officers! I wish they would understand that they have every right to NOT obey orders! Remember what happened to the war criminals that used "they were just following orders" as a defense???? Ruled not a defense!
I beg to disagree with you. The Officers do have that choice, the same as the war criminals had that choice: to NOT obey orders that went against humanity.
It all comes down to FOLLOWING ORDERS. Whether that even goes against their own culture and their own people. The war criminals that were not excused for just following orders, they had families to support too.
***** Good responses my bradda. Recognizing our kamaina even with the difficult task they have is what keeps our community so strong. This aunty is a bit of an extremists who wants immediate reform, and almost an all out retaliation. Much mahalos for the calm demeanor it's our way towards a greater future. Well said!
Yeah. My kids cannot even go to there own beach that the queen set aside for the children. It's like there not even important. Only money is important. That's what it feels like!
+AddingQueue i don't think you understand what i'm saying. there is nothing "advancing forward" about destroying a dying culture. I am native Hawaiian and I wish that there were still things that we had today that are lost from the past. First our land is taken from us, much like the way Native Americans' lands were taken from them. Our Queen imprisoned in her own palace and her monarchy overthrown at gunpoint. The continuous building upon building upon building on an already sinking and eroding group of islands that really won't have any beauty left after being developed so much. This fight that Hawaiians are fighting for isn't opposing the advancement of our knowledge of the universe or humanity, it is a fight to protect what little we have left of our culture. there is nothing "depressing" about that. rather, what is depressing, is the fact that people don't see it, or do see it, and still continue to press for the desecration of something beautiful
+kiki roman hey hey hey "it was" the native Americans land "it was"" native Hawaiians land. But now it's Americas. You should just plug that into your head because Hawaii is not gonna be like how it was back then in the past that's over and done with. We don't want to go backwards we want to go forward. You should be proud the be apart of the best country in the world!!
AddingQueue "Old and depressing". Trust me, it's way more depressing than before. You white people taking our jobs. Leaving us nowhere to go, but the mainland?! Somehow you white people find your ways to live on Hawaiian homestead?! We were perfectly fine before you guys came. We have to pay to visit our mountains (hiking trails) which are usually ran by a mix of people.
That's what I love about Cerro Armazones. There's nobody there protesting construction of huge telescopes. It's not as high as MaunaKea, but the peace of mind is worth it. Telescopes should not be placed where they are not appreciated.
Can we remember that there are two sides to this and I am in no way wanting to be disrectful. I would like to end this discussion. I don't feel that I am educated enough on this matter to be having this discussion. I first thought maybe it would be helpful. But I know that I am in no position to make any statements that I shouldnt. I do not want to be disrectful or say something that would not be beneficial. I can though speak for myself as a human being and as Kanaka. I will stand for what my heart feels is pono and that is to work, give back when I can, and have respect and love for everyone. I know my children will learn by example. I was taught this from my Hawaiian familly and am so thankful to be the person I am today. I will prey for justice and for all the wrong to be made right. I do not have a benefit package in all of this nor do I want one. I am not a greedy person. I am just Kanaka and proud to be Hawaiian.
I apologize! I stand strong for our mauntain and always will just as I stand for our people. I'm happy that they were warned because this is all so wrong! And we just gotta keep standing stronger and worry about ourselves! But still have kapualoha. We never did anything wrong. If anything it was very nice to give a warning. Shows how much of good people we are to care about others also.
Nothing anyone can do but have love, respect and aloha for each other. Imma let it go and live life and stand up for what I believe and what I know I need to do for my children. I have to do what I can and let go of what I cannot. My bottom line is to just prey for eachother and love one another somehow things will get worked out and hopefully there will be peace for everyone.
The first guy was a very good speaker. I haven't been there in 20 plus years a few of us went snow skiing that day.I hope that doesn't disgrace You or your people. I may like to ski up on the volcano again.
I'm sure the officers and police are really good people just as we are good people. There has to be some kind of injustice that accured for this to happen. Wouldn't you say.
To the creep guy; This is all insane. I think she had to live with insanity for a long time. At least she's standing for something and not busy judging others.
To John O Riley; Nice blog! Sorry didn't mean to say good boy. I'm sure your all grown up into a good MAN now. If you get a chance please say hi to your dad. You don't know me but your dad does. Take care and God less! 💜👍😃 oops back to the issue. Thanks for all comments.
And the truth! You better dig deep! Your living in space! Maybe they should put the telescope in your back yard. Sounds good! And let us eat our poi! We love it! 😃
Sorry for spelling. My fingers are to big for this phone. When I said who it you sit back and allow someone to bulldoze your home I meant with your Familly in it.
Stay the course. Man know not what you do for a higher power Ke Akua is the one who fill you to do this. All these things are for a reason and time will reveal the reason. Only short sighted people who only see the physical and have no depth to their spirits which is the majority of the world would say hurtful demeaning things. God bless them too for he shows mercy. But I am not God and will readily defend and protect sacredness "by any means necessary." Forgive me of my trespasses as I forgive those who trespass against me.
Oh my gosh. Mot many of us are Bart of America and that probably happened by force! And yes I hope they do build the telescope. It would look even more beautiful in your back yard!
We should be proud of this opportunity to keep mauna kea at the leading edge of astronomy. Tmt will bring 200 million into the economy annually and happens to be the best place on earth for astronomy...its a sacred mountain no doubt, but this telescope is temporary and the lease will run out one day...the telescope is placed in a way so it won't be an eyesore. This is a project Big islanders should embrace..
I think This goes much deeper then just having a telescope on the top of a huge big mountain. There is sooo much behind building this telescope and the way it is being done. We find it hard to embrace and welcome something that will hurt us. Yes it will bring money to the community. That's all good for the community but dpe'a the community benefit in the long run? I'm worried that thd big Island will soon become like honolulu city lights.
I understand there is a struggle to find a balance, but who says the telescopes can't be built and used in a way that's pono? The mountain is sacred for Hawaiians and foreigners alike, so I support all parties...but I feel there may be miscommunication between the project developers and the Hawaiian community. There's no Honolulu city lights coming....astronomers hate light pollution, so its in their interests to stop overdevelopment too. We all have more in common than we think, but sadly people are quick to take sides and point fingers. There's got to be a way to stop this pattern of conflict..can we not share the sacred mountain?
Sherry Hanato There is no doubt the telescope will negatively impact the flora native to the proposed construction site area...regardless of what the EIS found, it's a no brainer that this 9 acre site will be graded and altered to a great extent to make way for this large structure. But then again this is also a massive opportunity for economic, scientific and cultural growth in Hawaii.
What I'm trying to say is thank you to the officers for doing there job the best they could because I know they didn't want to have to do what they had to do. No where did I say I do not respect them. They have to take orders from the haule. And I'm not disrespecting haule's. Like how a lot of them do to the Hawaiians. I am Hawaiian / Haule. And yes this is very sad to see. I cried watching this. I have respect for the aina and the people. This isn't the officers fault. It's the haule connection that is at fault!
Let me make a correction. no one is at fault. It just needs to be done the right way. We cannot just sit back and watch bad things happen. This telescope is not a bad thing. It's the abuse that is a bad thing. And I don't see the Hawaiians abusing anyone or anything. They can't just sit back and allow bad things to happen and irrepairable damage to happen. They have soo much respect and love for people and earth.
Sherry Hanato Hey, there aren't any Hawaiians in command of the police officers? The police officers were noticed that if they arrested anyone, they could and would be held accountable for war crimes. To "follow orders" is not a defense when war crimes are committed.
think us Hawaiians can navigate the stars just fine without dat telescope. POINT IS WE NO LIKE UM ON OUR SACRED LAND!!!!!!! DERES A LOT OV PLACES UP IN DA STATES WEA DEY CAN BUILD UM WE NO NEED ANYMORE STUFF BUILT ON OUR LAND!!!
ZoZO baybeeh808 Aye bruh, I can tell you're not the smartest. But no, Their are not. There is only one other place on earth and it's not half as good. God damn bruh. Nobody is going to listen to you if you talk like you have no fucking education.
Im listening to him. Remember long ago the Hawaiians were not allowed to speak there own language. Growing up they were treated with severe punishment if they tried to. They were not given equal education. So I give this guy credit for just standing up for Hawaiian people as best as he can.
To frigate; I understand where you are coming from and what you are trying to say. There is a part of me that would agree with you. However I think we cannot make pono on the mauntain what is not pono to begin with. I think the Hawaiian people are not only fighting to protect the mauna but all of Hawaii. Just emagine if we did go ahead with the supper ferry and now the telescope. Sure it makes life easier but how does it make life easier on the Hawaiian people? I feel that this is a fight to protect the mauna and Hawaii and the culture as well. I think if we don't stand as protectors no one else will. I think this is also a legal matter that needs to be looked at. I do hope that things will be pono in the end and I hope the Hawaiian people will continue to stand strong. The lease will run out one day. Again this lease does not exist to the Hawaiian people. I don't think they were even presented a lease. It seems like there is so much talk about vacation rental going to happen at Liliuokalani trust. They plan to lease the land for peanuts. We haven't had access to the beach that the queen set aside for the children. we stand for the mauntain. We are the mauntain. I think astronomy needs to some how give back to the astronomers. I Am kanaka but I don't have the mana or permission to say if it can be pono or not. That answer should only come from the Alii. I hope by reading what I'm saying you can sort of understand a little more. And I don't mean disrespect toward you I'm anyway. If anything I am happy to know we are able to have a discussion on the matter.
Sorry. I don't feel bad for anyone being warned about war crimes. It is what it is! Its sadder to see our people have to bow down and be arrested on there own land! So I tell my self don't feel bad or worry about others when our own people are having to fight so hard to protect what is theirs! And no one is threatening anyone. This is just what we believe. And we are giving a warning. I have seen karma before and that's what we're trying to say. No one is threatening anyone!
Keep your money! Build your telescope! Do what every you like but not on our mauntain! Sorry I don't know if anyone is getting it. Tired argue. When can. Can. When no can NO CAN! If you don't love OUR mountain. Fine. We do! So have respect for others! And don't touch what doesn't belong to you!
Sherry Hanato All right. then stop using OUR technology. If you and group that you representing is didn't want to participate in development of knowledge as a part of humanity then you deserve only those technologies that your people developed by themselves. No more tv, cars, cellphones, computers and you can keep your sacred mountain.
Okay. But remember to pay us back everything that was taken and I don't think you can afford all of what will be owed. And I didn't know that you owned technology. Am I paying my cell bill to the wrong company?
Sherry Hanato Wow you are ignorant one. You can use your cellphone because hundreds of scientists in dozens of laboratories around the world developed necessary technologies and then thousands of workers in many factories assemble them. All this laboratories and factories build on somebodies land, but not yours so you don't care. Look around you in your house and say how many things were made in Hawaii and more importantly how many things could be maid in Hawaii if it cut from the rest of the world? By-by modern medicine, every thing that uses electricity, cars and so on.
it's only a matter of time. It will be built. They can delay it for now but not forever! My nephew is an aspiring astronomer... Born and raised right here on Big Island and he is ecstatic to enroll in astronomy at UH Manoa or Hilo when he finishes high school. He wants to learn about our universe and everything about it. Hawaiian kid with a passion! Education for our Keiki. IMUA TMT!!
Benni Duque I really hope that most Hawaiians share your view. Just to think about possibilities - maybe first extrasolar planet with life signatures will be found by this instrument in your (so to speak) neighborhood maybe even by your nephew.
And I hope all this construction that you say it would take gets stopped because it sea like it has started. I really would like for my kids to enjoy the beaches and the mountain. But we can't and if we try to we get kicked off by park rangers at honokahou harbor. This is all illegal!
To the guy who knows what he's talking about. You got some of it right but your still missing the point! It's not worth arguing over. Peace to you. I hope there will be a solution. However I think this choice should be up to the Hawaiian people.
Disappointed...i'm wondering how many people here really understand the TMT project. This is a typical example of how science becomes the victim of politics. So sad for you.
Where are the real leaders of the Hawaiian community? Where are the Kawanakoa's who are from the loins of Kamehameha of which was born, raised, and once owned all of Hawaii? Kamehameha then was the owner of the mountain but not all Hawaiians. If you are not related to Kamehameha then you are irrelevant to the Mauna. Look like the activists and wannabes are running the show up there.
Again This great opportunity that you speak of goes against our hearts. It against everything we are as Hawaiian's and as human beings. By allowing this to happen would be like someone stabbing your familly member in the stomach. Would you sit back and let that happen for money? I guess this would be a great opportunity for growth and all the good things you speak of but I think this will abuse for the mauntain and the Hawaiian people. We stand for the aina just as we stand for ourselves. We don't want someone to bulldoze our home with us in it. yes we have homes that we physically live in but our aloha and respect lives in our hearts as well as our homes.
Iaorana te mau tae ae na roto te maru e roa ai te manuia te ara ra te mau Tupuna na roto te mau fa oto o to outou reo hau faitoito te mau tae ae no Tahiti teie tapao aroha ia outou paa toa to our Hawaii tae ae your fetii Maohi love and support parahi a na ae
+John Smith Mauna Kea doesn't belong to anyone. Us Hawaiians are trying to get that through the thick skulls like people like you. How about you come out to Hawaii, put away your technology, and work in a loi field or fish pond, then you'll know what hard work is.
bradda. Me being a native hawaiian. A desendent of the ryal family. I ask that you please respect are ways and culture. Listen. Hawaiians are not against science. Or tmt. We are against the location of tmt. I see you on every video talking about are aina and how hawaiians are dumb and we cause pilikia everywhere. Bradda. Do you want to live a life with God or go down the other path. Treat people how you like be treated. Have aloha back. Malama back. If you reject this message. What ever you do to others will come right back at you. God will help us. God knows what your country did in 1893 was wrong. God will send a Hewa on your country. Do you understand? Aloha aina
+Aloha hawaii nui loa eh "bradda" Hawaii is apart of America you aren't different. You are an American. You should learn history, if it wasn't for America this island probably wouldn't exist. They protect this state more than any other. Some people in Hawaii are just so ungrateful for what the United States does for them. America is the greatest country and I'm glad Hawaii is apart of this beautiful country. And Hawaiians need some serious education!!!
People, if you guys listen to the hawaiian with the camera, he's telling the damn truth! Hawaii ain't officially a state! Yet, we have state workers, firemen, police officers mayors playing state in a place that belongs to the small but smart hawaiian government! If you're gonna take some place over don't do it half ass or you'll have to hear from educated hawaiians like us hah!
I think we need took at what benefits us as well. We live on islands I the middle of the Pacific Ocean. There is so much to look at before we can just say go ahead hurt us because it benefits every one.
Religious nonsense? You need to choose your words carefully when speaking about our ancestors. You are obviously non- Hawaiian. Perhaps maybe ignorant to the issues at hand? This goes far beyond Mauna o Wakea. This is about sovereign independence, an issue that's being avoided by the fake state of Hawaii. Here are the facts that must be addressed first & for most... Illegal overthrow No treaty of annexation No title to the land Laws are invalid to Hawaiian nationals. Royal patents are the true deeds to the land. Not Tax Map Keys. "Kobayashi vs Zimring" land dispute. Check it out! Before we can even talk about telescopes and the scientific benefits of having one or more, The underlying truth & the real question we need to be asking is... Who owns the land? State of Hawaii? US? Or the Hawaiian People? Was there a treaty of annexation? Can the state provide True title to the lands? The answer is NO.
Papakõlea Asing If this is about independence, take up arms if you think you own the land. And yes, it's nonsense. Native Hawaiians should focus more on the restoration of you culture than protesting this crap. Culture is in you heart not is a piece of land. I come from a culture that totally respects the land and I understand that this (building a telescope) is bigger than my culture. Science is bigger than Hawaiian culture. It is the road to the betterment of Mankind. I honestly respect Hawaiian culture but you have to know what battles to fight.
Brother ANYTHING having to do with land issues in Hawaii IS the battle. That is NOT your land or the American people's. It is Hawaiian land. And also WE as a Hawaiian people will decide what battles we choose to fight. The only thing that is full of crap, is your foul mouth and ignorant little brain. It's the same thing as me going to your house, holding you at gun point, kicking you & your family out of your own home, & asking your neighbors (but not you the true home owner),"what color should we paint this house?" Everybody is arguing over the issue of color, when the real issue is the home was stolen, illegally. And if you never figure this out yet... Hawaiian take up arms using Aloha, a word you'll never understand. Hawaiians no talk like you, There action speaks louder than words. E holomua kakou! Eo Ka lāhui!
Stand up for indigenous rights!!! Thank you for standing strong! Mahalos
Mahalos to all the Hawaiians protesting! Stay strong and keep speaking truths, mahalos
U cute as hell
So proud of my loving niece Hawane for standing up for our Mauna!!!!
Awesome to hear. Thank you for all the knowledge and comments. Maybe the fact is the are really uneducated amongst other things but I hope in the end Justice gets served. Thank you Karen and zeph. Politics makes this happen.. money and corruption makes this happen.. The will of a wicked man is the will of a wasteful man.
I applaud this Hawaiians for what they are doing. Maybe if all Hawaiians thought the same way we can take back what's rightfully ours!
amen!
Look at the cops faces as the guy is talking. They all could care less to what he is saying. Lmao
***** They cared but, they cared about their paycheck a little more.
I would care about my check too.

Sad that they send Hawaiians to arrest other Hawaiians.
The ole divide and conquer. We need to stand united
Thank you lavajon. Much mahalo.
Well said!!
I think the time has come to stop "compromising" ---the time has come for Hawaiians to take back what is theirs....take back what was STOLEN!
Aloha
Please look at this video just released today!ua-cam.com/video/p2g12tWWMaM/v-deo.html
On side not, Police in other states should take not on how you treat protesters.
Thank you Mateo. Your awesome! 👍
Very sad, we don`t have to be like the western world! Protect Hawaii Hawaiian`s !
Thank you!😃🙋
To Karen;
Thank you for the knowledge.
Well said!
And, look where it has gotten you the past 122 years....
Thank you John o Riley for understanding. Smart boy. You must get it from somewhere? Take care and keep positive vibes.
Very powerful, whichever side you're on.
There is much to be learned. And much to be accomplished. I look toward moving forward as well.
it just makes me so sad to think that one day, there is not going to be anything left of my hawaiʻi
Yeah. My kids cannot even go to there own beach that the queen set aside for the children. It's like there not even important. Only money is important. That's what it feels like!
I disagree I think that it is good that Hawaii is advancing forward!!! These Hawaiians just want it to stay old and depressing
We have to pay to visit our mountains (hiking trails) which are usually ran by a mix of people.
they should not build the TMT at all!!!!
:{
#nobuildtmt
It looks to me like our mountain is helping us as much as we are helping her. We are mounakea!
I'm learning! Now when people ask I know how to answer the truth. No threat. Just truth. And not to worry.
Maybe it's that these officers are not educated and have to follow a chain of command in order not to loose there jobs.
I hope it can be pono in the end. We all have sooo much to learn.
Sherry Hanato Was criminals were denied the ability to use "just following orders" as a defense.
Thank you ~ ♥
When war crimes was mentioned. It wasent a threat it was reality! That is what is being done to us. So I am thankful for the warning not the threat.
All of those arrested are heroes !!!❤️
Arent there mountains in Colorado?why not biuld it there? And leave ours alone. ..
Astromomy is awesome! Justice for all is awesome!
I think true education is very important. I'm still learning everyday.
To the creep guy;
This is all insane. I think she had to live with insanity for a long time. At least she's standing for something and not busy judging others.
"If you area fisherman, have you not seen what happened to our waters, its because of the water."
To John O Riley;
Nice blog!
Welina mai i ke aupuni o Hawaiʻi, ʻaʻole i ka Mokuʻāina ʻo Hawaiʻi. Ku kia'i Kapu Mauna Kea.
Then again they were warned. This is definately a hard situation. I will prey for everyone.
ay, there taking away the mountain protect mauna kea its my home my family and i used to go up there to look up in the sky's
I do t think it was ever said that Hawaiians didn't want to use bulldozers. Yes maybe not on sacred sites. I really don't think we are that stupid.
Who is living in the past?
To "follow orders" is not a defense when war crimes are committed.
there all ohana what u doing
at 1:52 he is being hypocritical.
How is he being hypocritical?
2nd Amendment; It's useful against tyranny and would of prevent any arrests.
amendment? push i don't need that
Seeing Hawaiians on here that really don't understand the importance of these Hawaiians who are standing up for what they believe is right. I
think us Hawaiians can navigate the stars just fine without dat telescope.
Sorry u no can undastan wut u lai (n btw lai= like)
I know da person dat posted dis idiot ya opinion dun matter
#hawaiianpride
Im listening to him. Remember long ago the Hawaiians were not allowed to speak there own language. Growing up they were treated with severe punishment if they tried to. They were not given equal education. So I give this guy credit for just standing up for Hawaiian people as best as he can.
Obstructing traffic is a crime..... misdemeanor I believe..... When you commuted it, Doesn't that make you a criminal? Just saying
To frigate;
I understand where you are coming from and what you are trying to say.
The Triangle is strong kia Kaha bro.
Hewa!
SAD😢
they want the tmt then take down all of the others
Your wrong! Not all of us are part of America! We're still here!
Sorry for spelling. i meant M. Lao.
mauna kea i mean
Why are those protesters up there?
Protectors not protestors. Gotta watch videos and get educated.
+Sherry Hanato no actually they are protesting
AddingQueue how you know ??? Were you there???
AddingQueue this is own land. Land stolen by devils. Shut the fuck up.
Peanut money or any money.
What the heck kind of a person is s creep. You gotta be one to know one!
Sorry I didn't mean it that way. I actually love honolulu city lights. It's the abuse, disrespect and injustice that I don't like.
Stop arresting the Hawaiians
Sorry for spelling.
Disappointed...i'm wondering how many people here really understand the TMT project. This is a typical example of how science becomes the victim of politics. So sad for you.
i hawaiian and i only 11 me'au u'i malama to mauna kea.
i not trying to be mean but don't arrest them there good people let them go if u were them they'll do the same
Where are the real leaders of the Hawaiian community? Where are the Kawanakoa's who are from the loins of Kamehameha of which was born, raised, and once owned all of Hawaii? Kamehameha then was the owner of the mountain but not all Hawaiians. If you are not related to Kamehameha then you are irrelevant to the Mauna. Look like the activists and wannabes are running the show up there.
IMUA TMT!!!
imbue means to move forward, not backward
How about you come out to Hawaii, put away your technology, and work in a loi field or fish pond, then you'll know what hard work is.
do these people have jobs or just on welfare? cause it seems they like to make a big scene on a work day with nothing better to do.
And Hawaiians need some serious education!!!
whateva bodda.
+Ezra white yup I know u can't handle being outsmarted
the truth will surface! i am on the side of the truth!
Very true!
You guys aren't educated. Hawaii is a state and apart of the us and you should be proud. Ha and you say you guys are smart lol
I guess.. i'm stupid ..At least the equipment coming down.. Thanks Supreme court hehe
+j02h no actually it's pending lol
Native Hawaiian should stop this religious nonsense. I support native Hawaiian rights but this is insane. Science benefits all.
I think we need took at what benefits us as well. We live on islands I the middle of the Pacific Ocean. There is so much to look at before we can just say go ahead hurt us because it benefits every one.
You a fucking dumb bitch
Religious nonsense?
You need to choose your words carefully when speaking about our ancestors.
You are obviously non- Hawaiian.
Perhaps maybe ignorant to the issues at hand?
This goes far beyond Mauna o Wakea.
This is about sovereign independence, an issue that's being avoided by the fake state of Hawaii.
Here are the facts that must be addressed first & for most...
Illegal overthrow
No treaty of annexation
No title to the land
Laws are invalid to Hawaiian nationals.
Royal patents are the true deeds to the land.
Not Tax Map Keys.
"Kobayashi vs Zimring" land dispute. Check it out!
Before we can even talk about telescopes and the scientific benefits of having one or more,
The underlying truth & the real question we need to be asking is...
It's the same thing as me going to your house, holding you at gun point, kicking you & your family out of your own home, & asking your neighbors (but not you the true home owner),"what color should we paint this house?"
Everybody is arguing over the issue of color, when the real issue is the home was stolen, illegally.
And if you never figure this out yet...
Hawaiian take up arms using Aloha,
a word you'll never understand.
Hawaiians no talk like you,
There action speaks louder than words.
E holomua kakou!
Eo Ka lāhui!
