- Опубліковано 15 жов 2024
- Across the globe, those who stand with Mauna Kea sang and jammed the same medley, at the same time on August 11, 2019 at 11:11am HST.
The intergenerational Hawaii tradition of “Backyard Kanikapila” is not just a jam session. Itʻs a time & space where relationships are fostered, creativity flows, and stories are preserved.
This is our TIME. Our BACKYARD. Our RELATIONS. Our STORY. Our PEOPLE. No matter who or where you are, NOW is the time to step up and stand with Mauna Kea. Better yet, sing and jam, with and for Mauna Kea - #EKanikapilaKākou!

As a haole boy that's lived in Hawaii most of my life(I'm 50) ,I've never seen Hawaiians come together in mass like this. Get'um !
Mahalo mah braddah
Braddah you not haole, you Hawaiian. ALOOOHA TO YOU FROM AFGHANISTAND.
@@RYDENROAM72 You Gettin' Action Out There?!
Being on Havai'i as a Diné (Navajo) man and to have my Mother there as a symbol of our home lands was a powerful movement within me. We returned home only to hear of the eruption. The people are rising everywhere and I believe that Havai'i will start it, you are the center of the world! Like the coming together of the lodges. They call us "Something Else" or "Indigenous Creatures" but their subtle hatred for us gives us strength to love, forgive, to hope and have faith! Bless your homeland and may Havai'i give the world balance and harmony!
I hope it isn't late. I am participating here in Canada's Saskatchewan Culture Day. October 16, 2020. Proud Kanaka here from Saskatoon.
Such love and pride. I am in awe.Heritage is vital to teach.

Regardless of what branch you serve, thank you for your service. Especially of Hawaiian descent, even more thank you. To sacrifice for this country, which took from you and yours far too much, thank you doesn’t do justice. Much love and respect from the PNW dating a Hawaiian. Learning of the BS overthrow of your country and government makes my blood boil being a haole.
Love and respect brother!

@@Rogers253 Your Comment Seems Contradictory. On One Hand You're Proud Of A Guy Serving Your Country, Which Implies That You're Proud Of Your Country While On The Other Hand Guilt Ridden, Ashamed, Angered, And Embarrassed About Your Country's Past. You Just Seem Conflicted.
@@peegeebeedee7563 shut the hell up donkey he probably was already in before this even happend. Some of us still serve but still don't forget what our ancestry had to go thru. We must all do as much as possible to make sure scientific progress goes no further!! I mean, some algebra was alright and I could figure it out, but all that science and math after that is too dangerous and difficult for people to learn and understand! We don’t need that much knowledge!!!
The Inquisition was the right thing for humanity! We should have burned Copernicus and Galileo when we had the chance!

So proud to be Hawaiian..and to hear all those singing I felt their spirits and the Mana how strong it was. 😢🤧 I may have not made a video but I do stand with all those there at the Mauna this day. Mahalo my people!

This is why we love Hawaii - for the Kanaka and the ‘aina. For the history, the culture, her people, and her natural, miraculous beauty. Ain’t got a damn thing to do with no Hilton Waikoloas. Victory is yours you magnificent people. Anyone who still thinks there’s the slightest chance of TMT being build on the Mauna just ain’t paying attention.
ALOOOOHA NO KAKOU. IM IN AFGHANISTAN THAT STAND WITH ALL OF YOU. I DEFEND MY COUNTRY AND I WISH WAS THERE TO DEFEND MY STATE.
