To me, the transfer from terra firma to the floating barge, (pontoon,) is the impressive part of this project. So many variables!

The last UK project I worked on, after this was dropped onto the Jacket, it had the drill set, accomodation module and flare hooked up, a huge job and possibly the last decent sized project put into any NE yard.

Is OGN still there? I used to service the air compressors that were fitted in the shipping containers.

What a brilliant piece of work - I didn’t think it was possible to move such a huge structure by road.

Again the Dutch Mammoet (means mammoth) in action. This was conveniently 'forgotten' to be mentioned in this program. :-))

I wonder what percentage of their SPMT Fleet was involved in that job. I bet they schedule smaller jobs around the demands of such a big project.

but Forget thum "expensive-wind" wind turbines. Think of all that maintainance on poles with alternators with whirly propellors bolted to the end. So complex. They could never keep the shaft bearing greased out there in the ocean compared to this "tiny little thing"... so cheap we see.

  • @learemington1700

It is difficult to screen entire blueprints on a computer screen so a plotter is used with paper that is large enough to hold the entire blueprint.
