In our commodified-conversationalized podcast-o-sphere, having these almost overbearingly stuffy academic introductions feels like a bit of a safe haven as well as a rebellion (dare I say intervention!!) for the times. Thanks for your work, Agon & Frank, not to mention Catherine!
Nice talk! But I doubt that the (counter-marxist) "anarchist state(ment)" is to be looked for back in Hegel - however platizised it may be (ca.min 28). Paradoxically, the place to look for might be the late Schelling, who not only inspired mid-19th century anarchists like Bakunin and French socialists like Pierre Leroux; but was himself since very early a cripto-anarchist; Schelling, whose proto-philosophical anarchism was blatantly disavowed by young Hegelians to the point that Marx even called him "the Prussian policy sub specie philosophiae".
Your first talk I've listened to, really enjoyable thank you. Ps. Greetings Frank from former student 👋
great talk!
i don't understand what is meant by "a performativity" around 23 mins
