The first update is for your display. It’s what sets your bike back in to mode 2 every time. The second update that actually shows the % in the display is the actual torque update on the controller.
I did my update back when they *finally* released it. Yeah, HUGE difference on the mountain bike trails by my house. Hills that I could barely get up with peddling were so much easier. I am annoyed every time I have to open my app and change it back to 4, but I'm used to it now.
BTW, for my Mojave, there was an update a few months before the torque update, that didn't really make any difference to me. That's probably the same one that you did 1st.
finally someone else posted about this, i was commuting home one day from work and i was switching to level 4...saw another caution sign and i said wtf is this...sat and updated - hopped on and it was a BIG difference from the FIRST torque update....it can finally get out of its OWN WAY!
Huge difference for me as well. The best way to notice it is to just ride the trails you are used to and many of the places it used to struggle, no longer does. Combine this with the 10 speed kit and it is bliss! Torque update is must have! Also, I believe the two updates is, one for the battery and one for the controller. You probably just updated the battery the first time.
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE No, I heard it didn’t work as advertised as you saw. My phone is always mounted to my bars and I’ve gotten used to resetting class mode, no big deal. I’m thrilled you finally made this video. Super73 gets a lot of criticism, but in this case they deserve praise. Many companies would not have tried again after the first update and fried controllers.
I got the new update a couple months before you did and I think it is GREAT! it makes it so much more playful. The low end torque is definitely noticeable. My top speed is 1-2mph slower but that doesn't really matter. Also everyone keeps complaining about the class 2 thing.... it takes 10 seconds to change people, get over it lol.
I bought a Revv 1 after watching your video on it (thanks!) and have been enjoying it after some issues got resolved. One benefit of having the bike revert back to standard power on power down, and why I would probably like it, is in case you are stopped and questioned by LEO, you can show them it's a class 2 bike only. Probably not a big issue until they get more tech savvy though!
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE The chain was so tight that it ended up breaking the threaded part of the hub motor plate completely off. Customer service was good though and they sent a whole new wheel. They were supposed to send a longer a chain but the one I got was the same length as previous. I bought a simpler after market chain tensioner and used the new and old chains to make one several links longer, works great now. My only issue with the bike now is that the air shock loses air after a 2 hours or so, so I am going to have to replace it with a coil spring one I think.
Awesome video, and total worth the update. Super73 is probably going to keep it so the bike reverts to class 2 for legal reasons. The cutout may have been a safety cut from the motor temperature being getting too high. The more current a motor gets past its "nominal" rating, the quicker it heats up.
There is another “new” update? I did the torque update a few months ago. One hill I could only go up it on throttle only at 4 mph…another at 7mph, no pedaling. After the torque update it added 10mph more to both hills. So 14mph, and 17 mph. I get the same top speed at 31 mph, but I have the stock tires and I weigh less at 139 lbs. Also, please do a range update with the new torque update!
If you’re just switching it on the display that only changes your pedal assist levels… to get the full power you have to go into the app said it to mode 4 and hit save🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾
Well Shreddie, I don't have the pwr to spare in my 11.2ah folder. My trail riding is winding between trees and going in and out of creeks with almost verticle walls. I use PAS2 exclusively, saving pwr for throttle slaps to get me out of trouble. Looks like you're having fun though!
If you live in East Tennessee you have no option but to update. I’ve stated before I’ve almost died in traffic before it. My knee has been acting up so I’ve not been able to ride recently after commuting for 4 months on it. Sucks getting old😂

I updated the s2 a few months ago for the FW update an yes the difference is huge but it just sucks that I need to open the 73 app to unlock mode 4 😔 can they just release an app for the iwatch for faster unlock 🤷♂️ . My s2 is my work vehicle . It’s my daily with 1,368 miles on it . The super duper is not available on the iOS . Question 🙋🏽♂️ how can I balance the back wheel 🛞

There have been three. The first bricked controllers a year ago and was pulled for another year. The second messed up pedal assist and was pulled immediately and the third stuck with few issues and remains to this day.

@@fredprophete8882 I hear its the same but have not heard anyone with the original to compare. There is a chance all you'll get is the mode reset back to 2 an no additional torque. Just make sure you are actually on the original which is version 2.08.
Ok so touching back, I changed my controller but when you update you have to use the app to reset back to off-road too. It’s gonna go to mode 2. I changed it but never saved it I guess.
I would choose the revv one if I were on a budget…but if I weren’t on a budget I’d get the super73 just for the fact that wheelies are wayyyyyy easier on that bike… which one are you most interested in?
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE tbh not sure, also eyeing up the CTY2. I think if I got the Revv1 or Super 73 I'd be doing a 60-72v swap down the road, so rev1 would be cheaper to start. On the other hand I might be happy with the CTY2 and a battery amp hour upgrade. So many choices and while price isn't necessarily an issue, I could get any of them, I'm still unsure. I have a Fucare Gemini X which is awesome, but only 48v and 750watt rear hub. So I'm making out at 31mph on a flat and doing 16 up hill.

You buy RX for chassis design, sexy stance, quality suspension, and finally the culture. In that regard, it’s still the best one in the class. Then hot- road it if you were still thirsty. Strangely I am fortunate to reach up to 34mph top speed with the full battery so I just will not touch anything but adding the second battery for now then later on I will go 72v. Super 73 VS Ariel Grizzly = Porsche 911 carrera vs Corvette ZR1 No doubt Corvette ZR1 faster.
For me, it wasn’t showing up in the app. I emailed support. I had to send them a picture of my controller and software version to make sure my bike was compatible with the update. Once they got it, they pushed the update to me in one week. This was months ago, so the update may be more prevalent
That software sounds terrible but it gives me more confidence that if I made some tuned firmware I couldn't mess anyone up more than they already were lol Any app that wants me to background it to run my stuff also seems to invariably at some point want to steal said stuff and more so I'm gonna call sus on that little "I'm just here to help ya" innocent seeming app.

I purchased my S2 in October 2021. I never applied the updates, until yesterday. The new torque update worked perfectly and I definitely notice a difference in the torque. It actually had me a little nervous until I got used to zipping around even faster than before. I have to give it to Super73, it’s a solid update! 😅
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE Too many forget to compare the components. How are the shocks, brakes? How's is the riding position? How does it perform offroad? What customization options are there? How big is the after market community? What kind of abuse can it handle? All those are relevant and IMHO more important than top speed! Not to mention, how much riding time is spent at "top speed"? Unfortunately to some, top speed is all that matters.

For some reason mine had a two-step update. It was weird, but yes, the torque is definitely worth it and noticeable.🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾

Well Shreddie, I don't have the pwr to spare in my 11.2ah folder. My trail riding is winding between trees and going in and out of creeks with almost verticle walls. I use PAS2 exclusively, saving pwr for throttle slaps to get me out of trouble.

If you live in East Tennessee you have no option but to update. I’ve stated before I’ve almost died in traffic before it. My knee has been acting up so I’ve not been able to ride recently after commuting for 4 months on it. Sucks getting old😂
Have you had any of the throttle cut outs when hitting bumps?
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE not at all. I just now rode it and sped up over speed bumps 😂🤟🏻 Hadn’t been on 2 wheels in like 3 weeks so it was awesome
Mine was a big difference .ore torque but after 25 mph and up it seems to be weaker especially against the wind
I haven’t noticed that yet on mine but I’ll keep everyone updated on my experience 🤘🏾⚡️🤘🏾

Yooo!! Hype vid man!! My update wasn’t successful. My throttle doesn’t work as I did an update. There was no second update for me to do. I go to Vehicle in the app and it says firmware up to date. Can anyone help?

I updated the s2 a few months ago for the FW update an yes the difference is huge but it just sucks that I need to open the 73 app to unlock mode 4 😔 can they just release an app for the iwatch for faster unlock 🤷♂️ . My s2 is my work vehicle . It’s my daily with 1,368 miles on it . The super duper is not available on the iOS . Question 🙋🏽♂️ how can I balance the back wheel 🛞

There’s been a few updates not sure when this last one was
There have been three. The first bricked controllers a year ago and was pulled for another year. The second messed up pedal assist and was pulled immediately and the third stuck with few issues and remains to this day.
@@MrBoatdrnx Thanks for clearing that up. I was confused. I'm still on the very first torque update with no issues. I wonder if the third is more torquie than the first?
@@fredprophete8882 I hear its the same but have not heard anyone with the original to compare. There is a chance all you'll get is the mode reset back to 2 an no additional torque. Just make sure you are actually on the original which is version 2.08.

Ok so touching back, I changed my controller but when you update you have to use the app to reset back to off-road too. It’s gonna go to mode 2. I changed it but never saved it I guess.
If you were buying today, Super 73 rx or Revv 1?
I would choose the revv one if I were on a budget…but if I weren’t on a budget I’d get the super73 just for the fact that wheelies are wayyyyyy easier on that bike… which one are you most interested in?
@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE tbh not sure, also eyeing up the CTY2. I think if I got the Revv1 or Super 73 I'd be doing a 60-72v swap down the road, so rev1 would be cheaper to start. On the other hand I might be happy with the CTY2 and a battery amp hour upgrade.
So many choices and while price isn't necessarily an issue, I could get any of them, I'm still unsure. I have a Fucare Gemini X which is awesome, but only 48v and 750watt rear hub. So I'm making out at 31mph on a flat and doing 16 up hill.

My super73 R does 32mph after update. Still zero torque in my opinion.
My og RX did 32. Not impressed with these bikes at all. Not worth the price.

You buy RX for chassis design, sexy stance, quality suspension, and finally the culture. In that regard, it’s still the best one in the class. Then hot- road it if you were still thirsty.
Strangely I am fortunate to reach up to 34mph top speed with the full battery so I just will not touch anything but adding the second battery for now then later on I will go 72v.

It’s in the super73 app under vehicle
For me, it wasn’t showing up in the app. I emailed support. I had to send them a picture of my controller and software version to make sure my bike was compatible with the update. Once they got it, they pushed the update to me in one week. This was months ago, so the update may be more prevalent
Does anyone know how much the nm torque is after this update?

That software sounds terrible but it gives me more confidence that if I made some tuned firmware I couldn't mess anyone up more than they already were lol
Any app that wants me to background it to run my stuff also seems to invariably at some point want to steal said stuff and more so I'm gonna call sus on that little "I'm just here to help ya" innocent seeming app.

The torque Update bug is why I won't buy a S73.
I purchased my S2 in October 2021. I never applied the updates, until yesterday. The new torque update worked perfectly and I definitely notice a difference in the torque. It actually had me a little nervous until I got used to zipping around even faster than before. I have to give it to Super73, it’s a solid update! 😅

My favorite torque update I did to my S73 was ripping out all of the electronics and installed a 2000w motor. 42mph on a stock/terrible 48v battery. 😂
The current update has few reported issues. You are referring to the last two attempts before that which had issues.

@@SHREDDIEMCSKATE Too many forget to compare the components. How are the shocks, brakes? How's is the riding position? How does it perform offroad? What customization options are there? How big is the after market community? What kind of abuse can it handle? All those are relevant and IMHO more important than top speed! Not to mention, how much riding time is spent at "top speed"? Unfortunately to some, top speed is all that matters.
