    Got a few Volca now, bass and Kick A sample should be arriving this week.
    I've found as a 303 copy - the bass is good, but not quite right.
    However as you have clearly demonstrated here, as an actual instrument you have to PLAY to get some satisfying results - for a genuine analogue synth at the price point it is?
    Unparalleled IMO.
    Excellent work reminding us. Thanks

      Hi there! The effects I use most of the time are two software effects. Valhalla Shimmer (reverb) and Soundtoys Crystallizer (pitch delay). Sometimes I also use Valhalla Massive which is a free plugin that is really nice.

    When you use the Valhalla Shimmer on the Volca or any synth in your DAW, have you been putting it directly on the audio's channel or do you create a reverb send with the Shimmer on it? It just sounds so clean bro. Super inspiring, and I admire your work.
    Also, when I use the Valhalla Shimmer demo, it has like this slight pre-delay that is somewhat annoying cause it almost feels like the synth is separated from the start of the reverb. Yours, sounds perfectly placed on the sound of the synth. Almost like your synth sounds come already stuck with the Shimmer reverb. And no, it is not my powerful Macbook or latency. I'm not a noob/beginner, I've been in the game for 3-4 years so I know it's not that. Do you think it's a demo-thing or is that how the Shimmer is but you do something to it to fix that?

    • @RemixSample
      @RemixSample  2 роки тому +2

      Hey! Hmm no I don't notice any delay. I stay pretty close to the default settings most of the time. I usually just play around with the (wet) mix knob. And I almost always put the effect directly on the FX channel. I don't use sends much. I would double check the "diffusion" knob and set it to at least 0.910

    • @RemixSample
      @RemixSample  2 роки тому +3

      Hey! You can control the Volca Bass with a midi controller if you want. You can also connect it via a midi to usb cable to your computer and control it that way. If you want to record the audio from it to your computer you are going to need a usb audio interface (I use a Scarlett 2i2).
