Tom is genius. When Steve had mine in to fit Denalis, soundbomb and weisers I had a code brown 💩 when I saw my bike being dismantled. Wish I’d worn my big kid pants but alas everything went back together no issues whatsoever. Genius 👍🏻
I had a K3 on my R1250GS, found I never used the remote (which by the way had to be replaced twice) so on my R1300GS I installed the K6 Moto, the unit is so much smaller and neater without the options I wouldn’t use.
I’m not really interested in the cameras to be honest, but I was watching this vid for the great banter Bruce, Tom knows his stuff! Good old ex army lad!! What a great chuckle🤣🤣🤣
I'm not sure why people hate the GS, it's a tool for a specific job, touring and off roading and does both incredibly well. Looks are personal and subjective, but in reality, if you need a bike to go places comfortably, two up with luggage, this is the bike.
Maybe because some people just don’t like it? Not everyone has to have the same opinion 🤷🏻♂️ I don’t even know what ‘hater’ means, we don’t all have to love something. To each their own.
@@Kurlach you don't know what a "hater" is? Are you an AI NPC or something? I mentioned the word woke the other day and someone didn't know what that word meant either. There’s so many questions my 7 year old daughter has asked me during this video that I’ve had to reply with ask your mum when I’m dead plus 3 years just to make sure.
Hi, I noticed that you have Carpuride installed on your bike... do you plan to make a review of that device? I have Garmin XT now and it annoyes me to often ;) Maybe a quick question: does Carpuride do anything (like navigation) without a (carplay) connection to the smartphone? I hate having been depend on to much devices ;) Keep up the good job with your YT channel, I been following you for years!
Hi, you have to connect the Carpuride to your phone, it’s basically a screen you cast your phone to. You can store music etc on it if you want and connect your Comms to it if you wanted - but again there’s no real point as your phone can access all the music there is and play that via your Comms 🤷♂️ Regarding a review - not much to say really. I bought it on Amazon and it lasted 3 weeks before the screen went green and eventually failed. I won’t waste my money again.
Do you mean the Carpuride I had in this vid? I bought it on Amazon from the Carpuride store for £239.99 It lasted less than 3 weeks before the screen went green. Rain drops caused the screen to change, as if I were tapping on it, and it ate the battery of my phone so the phone had to be attached to a power source when in use. By the time I got home from touring I was now outside the return period for the faulty unit, so it’s now in the bin. I wouldn’t bother with it personally, but I know friends who have them and like them 🤷♂️
@@teapotone thats not great news I’m surprised they wouldn’t change unit for you It’s still a fairly new thing out Will you try this new one that has a lock screen and whizz wheel works A bike thing is raving about at the moment?
@Nellyboy1971 - I’m sure Carpuride would change the unit if I asked as ‘TeapotOne’, but I bought it as a punter and as a normal punter, they just say there’s a 3 week return period on Amazon and it’s over that, so no return. Doesn’t show much faith in the product to me personally. There are loads of these new plug and play systems out there now, I’m just not convinced I actually need them. My dashcam does its job, my phone takes care of navigation, I can’t really be bothered with another thing on the bike tbh 😬 However I’m in a bit of a weird stubborn mood at the moment, you say black and I’ll shout white… so this’ll likely change 🤷♂️🤦♂️🤣
@@teapotone I like your thinking on this issue Thanks for sharing your thoughts More on topic I’ve the k3 set up Is the k7 worth the change Or just much the same
@@teapotoneI also purchased direct from Amazon, back in February, same thing happened to mine a few weeks ago, screen went green. Contacted Carpuride direct and the send out a whole new kit FOC, no questions asked. Now having to wait on a replacement BMW nav mount, as the replacement unit is obviously newer as the power leads are different sized connectors…again coming FOC
Exceedingly difficult to fit one to a Honda Africa Twin there's a plug under the seat with live, ground and switched 12V, on its own fuse designed for accessory fittings. Break My Wallet need to up their game 😂.
Your slagging KTM but the GS I bought new in 2019 1250gs was shite, battery issues. put me right off. I then bought a KTM 2290 but it was as bad, so I bought A Ducati grand tour in March. Can't stop smiling. Look forward to your test on it
See, if you had a KTM Bruce, first of all, the camera would focus on the subject rather than being distracted as why would you want to focus on anything else, and secondly, there is plenty of room under the seat for additional wiring and gadgets. Obviously BMW's just aren't quite as good 🤪 😘
Nice. It’s a shame the connection in the light at the front is not detailed. Is it pinned, is it soldered, on witch wire, is there a need for a plug and so on… Especially when knowing that Steve recommended in a previous episode to connect it through a side wire through the Hex ezCAN hence your confusion at the beginning of the install.
I appreciate what you’re saying here Jean, but this vid is showing WHY I used professionals to install it, not specifically HOW to do it. It says in the vid that Tom used a posi-tap to connect the live wire feed, but I didn’t show the intricacies of it as that is their business, so I’m not about to give out all their secrets 😉 Yep I was a bit confused about not using the ezcan too, as that’s what I’ve used in my last 2 installs and I was under the impression that was the correct thing to do. It seemed like everything was working fine too - however I trust Tom and if he says not too, then I won’t 👍
OK, I understand. Thank you. Living in Belgium, I don’t have the opportunity to go there and ask them mount my stuff. But this is the third time I buy from them a large bundle, including Denali lights, horns, emblems, and so on. The last package arrived precisely yesterday 😊. I watch every single video from Steve, and certainly multiple times the step-by-step how to do it ones. They are great. But when you realise they don’t anymore do what they say It’s a bit disturbing, hence my question. I guess I’ll have to go to Steve for that.
I can’t believe the amount of plastic on the GS , every thing is to much work , my thoughts are if BMW are charging so much for the bike why can’t they do a better job of all the wiring the bike is a mess for 23,000 . If I had the money I buy Moto Guzzi
Bit of a weird comment that tbh. Most bikes are constructed the same way these days and all are a mass of wires if they have the same level of electronics. The Guzzi’s are developing a good rep though these days 👍
I have a silly question for you guys. I intend on using DENALI CANSmart to connect my camera, so my question is can the yellow wire be connected to the red wire when connecting to CanSmart?
Apparently you should NOT used the CanSmart'EazyCan with these cameras as you won't be able to use the parking mode. You need to use a triggered live off the bike somewhere, on the GS it's easy to connect to the triggered live up the front for the satnav cradle.
Why not install the frontcamera behind the frontscreen? Higher up, better view. Of course you have to clean the screen regurlary, but you wont have to clean the camera lens.
I was really looking forward to the EIS from Innovv, which arrived with the K7. Unfortunately, it is a huge disappointment for me. The EIS works relatively well, but the image quality is terrible due to the low bitrate of the recorded video stream. 12K bit/s for 1080p is far too low. The image is pixelated and blurry, the license plates, etc., are unreadable. I wonder if this low bitrate is just a firmware error because the K5 has significantly higher bitrate. This could be the best motorcycle dashcam on the market, but this low bitrate of the encoded video ruins everything. There are three bitrate settings available, but even the highest is only 12K bit/s. If Innovv doesn’t fix this, there’s no point in switching from the K2 to the K7 because you’ll get almost the same quality. I will have to return my new K7 camera set to the seller and continue using the old K2. Does anyone have this issue, and perhaps have an idea how to fix it? I guess it is just a simple choice in the firmware source code to offer an additional option for a higher bitrate (I think 20 or 24 K bit/s would be perfect) for the video encoding, so it could be a five-minute fix for Innovv to create a much better product.
Cheers Joe, I completely agree that the bitrate is what lets these cameras down currently. However I’m not sure it’s as simple as a firmware update? If it is, then hell yeah INNOVV, get going with the update please 👍
I have an old K2 with modified firmware (20K b/s) instead of original 12K b/s. It works well since 4 years and I can read any licenseplate within 20 meters (1080p). So it's very likely just a firmware issue of the K7.
So , you just did not want to operate and take you're entire bike apart to wire some 0,5 mile of cables ? Smart man 😂🤣👍👍👍👍 and how much did it cost you ?
