Matt, Thanks so much for your video. You really saved my day. My brother had a fan like you have in your video but he couldn’t get it apart and ask me to help. I had worked all day to make a jig in order to try and get the field removed from the fan case but unsuccessful in getting it removed. I had made a tool to get the front cover off in order to remove the inner part of the motor but the field really stumped me until you showed me the holes you drilled in order to tap out the field to remove it from the casing. Again thanks again for your video. You really helped me out on this project. BigDonnie336
I drilled the holes and have been tapping the pins for over an hour with no movement of the stator at all. My brother and I are absolutely stumped and beyond frustrated
Make sure your holes are deep enough. If all else fails try a little heat on the housing. Could always try freezing the entire thing then adding some heat to the housing as you use it. Be careful not to get it too hot and melt the insulation off the wires. Just use something like a propane torch that a plumber would use for soldering copper pipes.
Try a little penetrating oil like PB Blaster where the two parts come together. Let it sit for a good half hour. You may need a soft rubber mallet to break it free with some taps. Try not to pry it off with a screwdriver, that will damage the metal, but if you must do so in a location that will not be seen.
excellent video thank you, i have one in a box that has been sitting half done for 10 yrs ..
Glad it helped
it worked. I did exactly like what you said thanks.

So you drilled 3 holes in the back to punch out the stator?
Pretty much. Is it proper? You be the judge, but is it stupid if it works?
How did you pop the cover loose? I can't seem to get mine off.

@@mattkinnard6899 thank you so much. I have been trying for 3 days. I appreciate it.
