    The best way to remove the tag on the base is the method you used. The pins can be stubborn but with enough tapping, they will come out. Some WD-40 will help. Also a helpful tip: I would clean the exposed shaft with WD-40 before pulling the rotor out. The hardened oil, grease and rust on the shaft can score the inner bearing surface. Good progress so far!

    Here in southern California on job sites its pretty much only dewalt and Milwaukee. I use dewalt myself been for the most part very happy with them, my old impact driver i dropped from over 20 ft and was fine

    Very Nice! I can already tell this thing is going to come out AMAZING! If you need I can send you some pics of my AOU and AUU, both have really nice original green GE paint on them if you need a better reference than what is left on your fan! Can't wait to see how the rest of the project goes!

    When tapping out the stator what holes are you tapping in? The 4 screw holes or just any where on the edge? Having trouble getting mine loose
