Thanks for this great and informative vid! It served as a vital piece of the puzzle in choosing a fin in a market with such a diverse array of designs.

Nice info. As I already have my split fins, they are better for the general types of diving that I do to go from place to place without exerting too much energy. But a more traditional type would be very useful depending on the type of diving I plan to do. Two sets would be nice. Just to add that I do a very much more straight leg kick with the split fins and I chase down those little or big fishies very fast for a photo op., but they are still much faster than me lol.

You pretty much got Everything Correct. I have a bit different approach in explaining the Physics.
I compare it to a hybrid between: the scoop (or half scoop) and hydrofoil in my video:
"Split Fins, Slots and Efficiency - Practical Science Explained + Bonus: Hydrofoils & Hobie Mirage Dr"

The only thing is worth mentioning that “frog kick” with ANY split fins is a matter of Practice and Experience. I use it on the way back after swimming out 3-4km (2-3 miles) out freestyle then breast stroke (and frog kick) mostly on the way back another 3-4km (2-3 miles).
This video shows shorter swim (40 min) but when outside the air is freezing and water temp ~43F and I do it in speedos changing styles:
