Even though it has its issues and is very slow i still thought this little big rock lookalike was awesome but if you are looking for something much more versatile it has to be the hyper go or HBX 16889/FTX Tracer :) Let me know what you think. Would you buy one? *Only a few days to go on these two Raffles* - raffall.com/beyondrc
I actually have a Suchiyu 1/16 buggy called the Cheetah. I got it a couple of years ago for what seemed like a ridiculously cheap price off of BangmeGood, I think it was around $38 USD delivered. In a nutshell the buggy is a very similar layout as your truck. Same electronics, same radio, but I was actually impressed with the hardware at the time. The shocks look to be about the same, but I remember I was able to fill mine with oil, metal braces, metal drive nuts, and BALL BEARINGS for the wheels! That was a nice surprise! The chassis I thought was pretty solid for the size of the car, and it took some punishment when i was screwing around with it. Basically I thought it would be a good platform as a basis to build something more interesting with... strip out the electronics and replace with a small high Kv brushless motor and appropriate ESC, decent servo and battery, and could make for a wickedly fast mini R/C buggy out of it.
I don't mind the limitations of this truck. I really enjoy small scale bashers, and like a budget-friendly, simple option. The only thing that I really can't stand is the outrageous bogus claims of top speed. There's just no need for it. If it's not as fast as they were hoping, then just don't make it a selling point to focus on. But to blatantly make up a number for attention that is completely unrealistic is inexcusable, imo.
Scy have done a few good 1/16 scale rc cars admittedly with friction shocks but that's a cheap upgrade and their brushless cars have bearings and metal gears, and metals hubs front and rear. I have 2 sg116 max brushless cars that me and my boy have bashed the hell out of and they are still going strong with minimal repairs needed 💪, they have been more reliable than my mjx14210v2 and on a 2s lipo will do 34mph and on a 3s conversion on stock gearing over 50 mph and as stable as hell 👍. Watch Derby rc video on it and rc crazy the dude in Australias video his one is the JJRC Q117 but they are the same car/platform, watch it I think you will be surprised mate 👌
Brushed, this thing is not great. I agree, a bit more for a brushless system, and as long as a bunch of other 1/18 parts fit or work with this, it could be a decent rig. However, this kind of rc ultimately will cost double plus it's price tag to upgrade and dial it in right. I'd rather go with a wltoys a979b if I wanted to stick with brushed, which has tons of upgrade parts and availability. Never heard of the brand(s) before, so it will be reliant on similarly sized platform for spare parts. Excellent review, honest, and yeah,i agree, friction dampers are dead, can we just move on to oil filled shocks as a standard now?
Seriously, was this freebie even worth the time and effort it took to make the review? Im suprised Hotizon hasn't offered you any samples. At least you thoroughly cover the products while others run right to thier ramps.
Nope not worth my time or effort at all but i have grown my channel doing cheap/budget RC cars and that's what a lot of people like to see :) I have worked with many larger brands and been fortunate enough to get free review samples from large brands too like Team Corally (4s Kagama coming soon) but Horizon simply discriminate against the UK and dont provide anything to any UK creators. I dont think they see us as valuable to them compared to the US channels. Anything mid-high range you see on my channel is usually funded by me and not provided by the RC company. I would even be happy to pay full price for early access to the latest horizon products but they arent interested in doing anything with UK creators. Such a shame really. Yeah im not a fan of ramps and skateparks i consider reviews on my channel to be more authentic and i run at places i think most buyers would run. I dont know anyone in person who destroys their cars at skateparks. its all done for the views on here by other channels :)
I appreciate the channel to see the budget stuff's innards up close, since Im often on aliexpress seeing these wondering more precisely how much legit they are for the price
@@beyondRChave you still got your 6s Typhon mate? Never really thought about getting a 1/8 buggy before, then someone mentioned the other day how good value and fun the 3s version is, now I keep looking at them lol.
God awful!! Save me money for winter fuel bill instead 😂😂 poor Ricky out in the cold delivering us these awesome video, everyone don't buy this RC and send your £50s to Ricky for standing out in the cold UK weather lol 😂😂
Na not unless the name brands can get better with pricing. The ARRMA Groms are overpriced and underwhelming (just an example) would pick a hyper go by mjx over the grom range any day 😬

When a cheap RC car is just a little too cheap! This is the end result .
Thanks for the vid mate
It appears to be about one step up from toy grade, which honestly, you would expect at this price point. Good video, as always.
Thumbs up for your honesty
For less than £50 it would be ideal as a beginner RC for a youngster, clearly as an adult(allegedly😅) I would want an RC with all the modern gear 😁👍
Even my youngest child would laugh if I gave him this. 😂

Normally, I would say “Send It” but you literally can’t. 🤷🏻♂️😁

couldn't feel my hands or feet but i do it for you lot 😘
@@beyondRC lol you spoil us 😂 but I think your young lad would even be disappointed with this RC ? No thanks Santa I'd rather have Rudolphs carrots 😂
@ I think so but then again he is spoilt when it comes to RC cars!!
Little Rock 2S 🤣🤣
😅😅
@beyondRC That name might have resulted in better sales, LOL 😆
Don't see the point of teeny weeny rc cars, bro , 😱😱😅👍
Dont get me wrong a small RC wouldn't be my first choice either but i like to appeal to all audiences on here. Some people love the minis
I’ll bet this guy hates the new arrma and traxxas bodies
I’m still 50/50
Good enough for the kids , adults need not apply for this toy lol .
It is problematic when you are the parent needing to repair it for your kids though.
They using traxxas mph. This clearly does 3000 mph
BWAHAHAHAHAAA HAHAHAA 😅 😅 😅
Best model name ever to search for in Google.
hahaha!!
Imagine that…a cheap rc that disappoints….who’d have thought it possible. Yet another reason to buy name brand……

I think the lipo is dead
nope checked the lipo fine. Just lies on the page ;)
@beyondRC oh, well that truck was real darn slow
It's poop
pretty much. A lot better options to be fair although it looks awesome :)
