    Lots of the big companies themselves advertise their RC cars on skate park in the promo videos. As for the kid thing, it’s not down to me to Police other people‘s kids. This is UA-cam adults, there’s another app for kids called UA-cam kids if parents let their kids watch adult videos That’s on them not me. End of the day you just have to do the hobby which ever way was the biggest smile on your face and that is the right way that you’re doing the hobby for you. People always complain how others are having fun, and complain about other channel. Solution is simple, don’t watch, 1000’s of other channels out there to watch, they don’t need to watch mine or copy mine.

      @beyondRC  12 годин тому +6

      Of course they do Kev because that's whats been made to look cool not just by you but by lots of large social media influencers. Watch some old school RC videos/adverts you wont see a skatepark in sight. I have never had an issue with what you do or how you run your channel or the fact you run at skateparks that's your business but when i am getting comments from people wondering why i am not doing the same or copying you or others to a certain extent its something i have to address. All channels are different and me making a stand is my way of saying i wont copy you for the 'views/likes' or what you are doing because yes i dont agree with it and im quite open about that. RC cars dont belong at skateparks but again that's my opinion. Everyone is free to do what they want but when the large channels are doing something the majority think that's the way forward. Wrong. UA-cam is about being individual not copying others. Totally agree about watching other channels and i tell people the same. You have an incredible influence in the RC world mate and even though you say parents shouldn't allow kids to watch adult youtube of course it still happens.. did you behave yourself and do what your parents asked at that age? Probably not lol. Kids can and will watch your channel and other channels abusing RC cars even if they shouldn't be and i think its important to remember that as its having an impact on the young ones getting into the hobby (Hobby shop owners have confirmed people coming in looking for the best skate park RC cars). In the 80's,90s and 2000's How many ran RC cars at skateparks? Hardly any lol. Appreciate you stopping by and listening to me moan again nothing directly against you but we are all entitled to our opinions right? I have to see it all from a Dad's point of view as i am getting my young sons into RC. Cheers mate

      Nothing wrong with taking your RC to a skate park if....,
      A- it can handle it. EXB's etc.
      B- YOU can handle it. Unless you know how to drive an RC at a well above average level, you are gunna break stuff.
      I've been driving nearly everyday for a few years, and still only occasionally visit the skate Park. I'm well, em...., my talent and resources are offset by the chance of failure.
      NB- Kev has a few good vids (easy to find) where he teaches higher levels of control of RC cars. They are pretty good.

      @@beyondRC sure you’re entitled to your opinion, 100% you should pay how ever puts the biggest smile on your face, and I’m doing the same. If people and kids see rcs get wrecked in my vids and then think that they can do the same and not break it, even after seeing it get trashed in my video, then I guess they have to find out the hard way, and other peoples kids are not my responsibility. Anyway, I take my hat off to you for doing it your own way and not copying me. So many channels out there copying my style, ideas, thumbnails and descriptions its actually insulting. It doesn’t even help then because if someone wants to watch my, they will watch me, why would anyone want to watch someone pretend to be me?

    Yes, it's a hobby. My hobby isn't buying parts that I have broken. Buying parts for me is hop-ups or parts that do break from a normal run on a couple packs. I avoid bashing. It happens on it's own. A perfect day is charging, running, and placing my hard earned money and time back on the shelf for another run another day. I do buy the durable bashing vehicles because I'm not as good as I think I am.

    I agree with your stance on skateparks. Like you I was raised to appreciate what I own, which is why these type of tests don't interest me. I don't understand the idea when cars/ trucks that are launched 20/30 ft. in the air and land harshly only for the owner to act surprised when something breaks. They just weren't designed for that type of abuse. Keep doing what you are doing, I for one enjoy your realistic reviews. 😁👍

RC was (and is again now) my only outlet to tinker without deadlines or pressure. As soon as I started caring about likes and shares I went bananas. Shut it right down! 😆

    You're SPOT ON about the paid promotion thing. Many channels don't tick that box and they should be doing so because UA-cam could take action against your video for not. Anytime I have even so much as a free battery in a car I'm featuring in a video, even if that battery is unseen, I still tick that box. The only videos you don't see the paid promotion box on, are videos where every vehicle in the video has been bought and paid for by myself, a member of my team, or Rek RC itself. I wish more people understood this because you don't want to get sideways with UA-cam before you even get your channel off the ground.

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  14 годин тому

      absolutely. I am the same if there is anything featured in my video which at some point was sent for free its still classed as paid promotion. As a small channel myself(much smaller than you) I focus on what makes a smile on my face! Anyone that watches my videos will see pretty much anything I feel like doing. I've done skateparks as well, kinda mixed on them too. I'm also mixed on crawling. Everyone thinks you need a course, I get the best fun out of natural settings! UA-cam can be frustrating, because honestly to compete with the big guys you need to have engaging, fun-filled content! I've taken a step back and crack out my own way...seems to work for me! One day maybe I'll have a decent following,if not it was fun making the videos! I like your videos because it's different, technical, sometimes boring. For me I appreciate the beauty in the design, and function as well as the tricks. Keep doing it your way, I'm still watching like many others brother!

      RC cars have gotten so reasonably durable, that we don't even do skatepark videos anymore unless it's somehow relevant to the RC car in some way. Otherwise we just stick to head to head type stuff and reviews based on performance and entertainment purely. Skateparks seem to have run their course in terms of being a realistic method of testing, because EVERY RC breaks at the skatepark. Personally speaking I don't want to know if an RC breaks at a skatepark (because they all do) I'd rather want to know if it breaks under reasonable levels of bashing or hooning around.
      Don't get me wrong, a skatepark can be a thrill, but it's really no way to test an RC because the end result is eventually the same every single time, SOMETHING BREAKS!

It makes for a great complete picture of a car. I think having your channel focus on the more affordable end is a smart move, and brings more newcomers into the hobby. If I see all three of you say a car is good, then I know it would be a great one to get. I know that you have to go where the viewers are, but I think your channel has a nice identity right now and the longer you can keep that the better

    I dont agree with the free product guidelines... does the cost of the product they sent you compensate you for your entire cost to film, produce, and edit that video?
    Most of the time is a fraction of the cost because, your time costs money, transport to and from filming locations, etc etc. Unless they are covering that entire cost, I haven't been compensated, it's costing me money to make a video about that "free" product.....
    I've got no problem mentioning how I acquired the product to my audience, but Its not a paid promotion, since it's costing me money to make, that's a joke, that needs to be removed or elaborated on by YT IMO.

    • @beyondRC
      @beyondRC  День тому +1

      I agree. It definitely doesn't. Yes the product may be free but like you said what about your time. Time costs money.. The way youtube sees it is that the actual product is the paid part and that's what we declare to the viewers. It can be argued that without a steady flow of new/recent products which a lot of the time are free once again that channels would find it harder to grow and stay relevant without seriously large investment. Very difficult topic but sadly no getting away from it. A lot of the videos made have cost more than the actual products themselves.. you will find a lot of creators make way more money through patreon, raffall, affiliate schemes and other sources compared to the actual ads on videos.

    There are some Rc’s that I will or would take to skate park and the rest I don’t. My goal is not to see how long or how many bad landings it will take to break them. My free time is valuable, and definitely enjoy running them than I do repairing them.😂
    I do however like to run them hard just breaking them is not the goal for me.
    As for checking the box for paid promotions, I think many channels state in their videos that they received the product from the supplier or manufacturer for free, and to me that should be good enough. When my channel was current, I would always mention that something was sent to me for review. 95% of the time everything I reviewed was something I purchased with my own money. I didn’t want the hassle or pressure to review something I may not of been interested in or had time to review. So I think stating it in the video = to the consumer as checking the box.
    Great conversation though my friend! I’ve been contemplating giving my channel another go , but with a slightly different format . Been wrestling with ideas for months now. Great job , your doing great it seems! All the best to you and your channel!👍🏻🙌🥂

Like you I was brought up to look after my things not destroy them plus I wouldn't be able to afford to keep replacing parts broken. As I said the hobby is doing what you enjoy or what makes you happy. Keep up the great work.

    Its not a durability test its just when will something break. Last year when I went to Arrmageddon there were plenty of ramps setup most people were ground pounding, just racing up and down the street and through the field. So most people dont bash like that this is what I call this the Tolbert syndrome you see a lot of small channels copy this because they think its the way to grow a channel. For me I keep my cars because I buy them I dont prefer to scratch them up or break them or break them I did it a few times but no more for me. Anyways here in the US we have the same here with the paid content it does seem like we get money to make the video and for most especially me its not true. I find review vids sucking the fun out of it I like setting up extra cameras and that all the extra work it takes I stopped doing it for every car but just going out and having fun sticking a camera on my head is still fun its fairly easy to make and for me it gives me a reason to go out and not just sit in the house I am retired military with back issues so rc gives me a reason to go outside and have a little fun.

    I like to take my RCs out as often as I can & I can't do that if they're always broken from ragging them around a skate park.
    I aim to take them home in the same condition they were in when I took them out.! 😉
    I'm 100% fine with Raffles mate, if it gives us a chance to win something & generates a little income for you & your channel then that can only be a good thing.!!!
    In moderation though...
    Some channels are all about their raffles nowadays, they talk about them all video long & have multiple raffles at any one time & it just feels cheap.!
    As long as you're still enjoying the hobby I believe you'll always find the motivation to carry on.!!👍
    It's important to give yourself a little break from time to time too.
    Just keep on keeping on my friend.!! 👍 👍 👍
    I don't think it's right for us to expect a constant & regular supply of videos from you or any other UA-camr... Quality is more important than quantity & the quality would definitely suffer if you were to push yourself too hard & it became a chore to do.!
    Just go at your own pace, keep it real, HAVE FUN & we'll be more than happy.!

    Skatepark bashing is for clicks, and the intension is to break the RC. Its like watching NASCAR just for the crashes, or a hockey match for the fights. It fine, but also played out and missing the main part. I like watching your videos for the realistic approach, and respect for your investment. Keep doing what you do. Its good to see a different approach, and keeping it realistic. I have never seen Raffal until I got into RC's. Drone channels don't have it, and other hobby channels are not that big into it. I have mixed feelings about it. I personally wont ever buy ticket to be honest, but at least you dont plug your Raffal 4 times a video like some do... Anyway, thanks for the video and looking forward to more.

    Bashing on a skate park is not what the rc hobby is about or what the are made for, like you say. It's about enjoying it. We are spending our own money at the end of the day not being a UA-camr myself, rc companies just what people to review their product to get them out there to sell rather than us making our own minds up, we all know what we can get and want without companies pushing free cars out there

  • @kevincain6843

    I seldom go to skate parks and if I do, I take my toughest Chinese 18th, 16th, 14th scales. For one they are cheap and the smaller they are the less weight contributing to breakage and really bendy plastics makes them last longer as a rule. I watch Thunder RC, Kev, Phil just to name a few. Its fun to watch others on skate parks breaking their stuff. I am not sure how you convince people that skate parks are the hardest thing on RC products breaks them and that is part of it. No such thing as a skate park proof truck. Micro fractures can occur on just about any of them and eventually that part will fail. Its like people do not want to hear it. Then they call the product trash which is wrong. If it does not break, then I say you had a lucky day.

    When seeing all of these RC channels on UA-cam show up over the years I've seen one thing durability testing, of course it's not all about durability but if I'm going to spend large amounts of money on an RC I'd like to know that it's up to the bashing, I know it's not all about the bashing or durability but that's a big part of it, whether it's out of skate park or a BMX track or an MX track or or a giant field, don't get me wrong I get it , just to review an RC and break it just for the review no I'm not quite into that either, but from what I've seen with all these different UA-cam channels whether it's crawling or bashing they're always trying to weed out the weak spots in these RCs, no better way to get the bugs and all the little quirks worked out of an RC then to put it through its paces, whether it be racing crawling or bashing RCs as long as you're getting your message out there should be nothing to complain about, there are so many channels for RC out there there's a little something for everyone now whether it's bashing racing crawling or just going for a walk, as long as you get a message out there without being a total retard about it" you know the channels I'm talking about",if I'm going to spend over $2,000 on a giant monster truck RC I'd like to know that that thing can handle the punishment that they say it can handle, everything in life can be broken sometimes we'd like to see if that thing can be broken before we buy it and it breaks on the end user.

And you don’t get a realistic view of an rc car. I’m primarily a basher myself and i do from time to time break my rc’s but I’m not fan of skate park bashing. We have crawlers that are geard to the limit, 6S systems or higher, sencerd at least sometimes, basically taking something that is exactly made to do one thing and making it into something else, that can be fun, but is it really useful, who wants a crawler that hits 40 to 50 miles per hour? Yeah, problem is it's not just kids it's adults or ages 16 and up who are easily infuanced and smash their cars up to fit in.
    Have you seen how many channels are popping up doing the same thing and even copying the styles of other channel presenters lol. Really, the bigger channels that do that sort of thing are the ones that want to chase money, the fact about entertainment, whether it be TV or UA-cam is that the audiance want excitment and action. So, they deliver that and they get views which equates to more money coming in, and so they can buy more cars and parts to smash up again and it's a circle. They then acheive their goal of making lots of money.
    Money makes the world go 'round and we all want to make as much of it as we can, some people throw morals out the window and just go hell for leather to get their goals and others try to set good examples while trying to reach their goals.
    Facts are the ones with the action, shouting and distruction do far better than the calmer ones because, again viewers like distruction and action.
    Either way, I suppose as long as you make your money genuinly it's all ok 🤷🏻‍♂😆

I don’t have to copy the larger channels and judging by the comments on this vid people like watching me for that very reason. The fact I go against the grain if you will. Some may say I’m boring to watch mostly with my running footage but I don’t care I’m doing what I see is right. Following the crowd and copying large channels is for losers 😛

    Keep skateboards at skateparks, that's why they are there. I mean really, what isn't going to break by hitting concrete at 10+ ft from the air. Definitely not a plastic "toy" car. How much testing is required to know this. The UA-cam channels that purposely wreck these cars for the sake of durability test have lots of money and obviously get sh*t for free. So why should they care.. And then, Isn't that what a UA-camr is, a Influencer. Definitely influencing people in the wrong ways. On the other hand, most of us should be smart enough to make the decision how and where we want to ride our cars. If you wanna see thing fly get into RC Planes or FPV Drones. When I see people crash their planes I wanna tell them get a RC Car, none of that stuff with cars, well now there is plenty of it with the cars. People love seeing their cars "define gravity". They always lose though.. Lol

    The Raffles are cool if the tickets are cheap and capped!! and not trying to raffle off a used RC for $1000's!. and I mean let's be real most creators are trying to make as much money from us as they can, which really there's nothing wrong with it when its kept somewhat realistic, but I don't think it's fair raffling off a $200 RC car and waiting to sell a couple thousand dollars worth of tickets before the Raffle is up. There's got to be some kind of cap on it,IMO. That would be like me going to a group with 2000 hungry people there and telling each of them to give me a $1.00 and after everybody gives me their dollar then I'll go out and throw it to one of them hahah!!! Imo 😂😂🤷🏼‍♂️. Sometimes even the company will give them an extra car to do a "Giveaway" but instead they auction It off on Raffle lol. But It is about making that mighty dollar and I'm obviously I made the wrong career move!!!.😂😂.
    Ok Sorry for the silly Rant., but about the skate parks I don't have a skatepark around me but even if I did I wouldn't go near it. I never liked the skate parks, closest thing to a park I've ever been to is a baseball diamond lol.. I even hate the sound of the it when they're slapping chassis off the concrete, I like my trucks and cars in the dirt or off road, it's definitely more enjoyable kicking up roost around the the burms "Braaappp"!! 😂😂 Taking hole shots and blowin donuts!.. come on now ,.if you don't find that more pleasing and exciting than just hitting a jump and waiting for the chassis to slap the cement and throwing a prayer up to the sky that's going to drive away after each landing, then have at it at if it as long as your having fun..🤘🏻.
    It doesn't mean I baby them either because I'll rip through the culm dumps and trails full tilt shredding the tires right off it haha. I just don't see the meaning of going to a skate park possibly only hitting one jump and crack your rig in half on the first landing, remember!. it's the Landings that breaks your cars, not the jumps. 💯✌🏻.. but anyways always love your videos. Keep doing what you're doing.
