the Gripen E will probably be added alongside things like the F/A-18E and maybe a late F-15C because not only does it have a better engine, it ALSO has
-An AESA radar which is mounted on a plate that lets it turn to the side
-Three extra hardpoints for missiles
-Carries the Meteor and IRIS-T
-Towed decoys
-An electronic warfare suite
-and Datalink
It's more of an F-35 Lite than anything else
I hope you all realize that the JAS39 E is the best aircraft Sweden have, and it will have to deal with Eurofighters and F-22s (Among others) by the time they get added, either early next year or late this year, my prediction. Sweden might be dominating right now, but they are not as future proof as the big nations. Ah, the ''better engine'' version still has a much inferior TWR compared to the planes I mentioned and of course, it can't carry as much ordnance. I guess it might still carry more countermeasures. If someone knows how many countermeasures those jets carry, I'd appreciate it.
As someone who has tested it, the F-16C was NOT able to outrage the Gripen C at 350-400kn, not at full deflection
yep, gripen max turn rate is 1.5 degrees per second higher than of f-16C. For gripen it was 23.5 dps
f-16C - 22 dps
f-16a - 23.5 dps
Now with this update gripen rates 0.5 dps slower than f-16a
p.s. all measurements at 20 min fuel, clean wings, in sim mode

I feel pity for Gripen because when Rafale and Typhoon come, I think it will be the last option a player would prefer in a normal match, Air RB.
The current Gripens probably, but by then a JAS-39E won't be that far off, and there is always a more overpowered missile that could be added lmao, gaijin has plenty of options.
The comparison between the gripen rafale or even the typhoon is very superficial because we in War Thunder do not have an electronic warfare system or even some real radar features. All that makes the plane in War Thunder strong is just the number of missiles it has, but in the future I hope it will make the matter more complicated with... I love to do 1vs1 dogfights in wt, and I think this is a good change, the gripen didn't get too nerfed but it is not op at 2 circle fight anymore, literally the gripen had more alpha than f16A and practically the same degrees per second, it was an absolute beast at bfm

Even 2 circle the gripen was beating me in sim while running both the f-16 adf and the c. Gripen still rates like stupid we will see if this nerf really hits it
I find it odd that in game the gripen can carry the radar missile on the 2 inner pylons but irl can also be carried on the outside pylons witch is not in WT even tho the outer pylons are that big so it could specifically carry the RB99/ AIM120-B but I digress
radar missiles are useless relative to IR missiles rn anyways so who cares.

there's really no need for the twin seat Gripens in game, if there were to be one it'd probably be the JAS-39B and it'd be an event vehicle

Idk managed to take a fight one circle with the mirage 2000 and this poor gripen could not pull enough AOA to keep me from getting on his tail.
It's crazy to me that they still haven't reduced the number of countermeasures the BOL pods carry. Fuckers play the whole match with periodic countermeasures on and still have some leftovers for the post-game flare parade.
Hey Lee I know you got the charts, can you tell me if the Su-27’s flight performance is accurate? I keep seeing people say it isn’t rating enough or bleeds too much speed

The flight performance is like 99 percent accurate, the sustained turn stuff etc is correct. It may bleed too much speed in instantaneous turn but that's hard to prove.

Or is it that jets like the F16A are just over performing? I mean, I always believed that the Mirage 2000, SU27, F15, MiG29, etc.. could handily out perform an F16 in that regime.
Maybe it's different with full real controls, or maybe I'm just wrong lol.

Honestly, it was really needed, For some of us who were dedicated to 1v1, we could never understand how the hell a Gripen could outrun an F16C in a rate fight in the deck, that's simply impossible unless the F16 does quite badly.
I’m just waiting for Hungary to get the modern Leo 2’s so then there can be two nations with modern leopards and delta wing 4th gen fighters…neither of them being Germany
If SARHs actually meant a damn, the gripen wouldnt be able to do what theyre doing rn. Radars and missile guidance being so bad makes these random cheese strats viable and meta

I think Su-27/J-11 is better than gripen due to the BVR ability, even Sukhoi planes doesn’t have the gripen grade weight and manuverability, its still a missile bus that can carry up to 6 ERs. Try to beat a missile that performs even better than AMRAAM and R77 at speed. Well, Gripen is always better than any f16/f15s.

So idk why they artificially “killed” any kinds of BVR fights in the game and also all fox-3’s will be as “useful” as fox-1’s - they’re all will be defeated by flying not even extremely low(how it should be, below 10m) but just low) and rn if you can bring any plane to rb/sb match - Su-27 and MiG-29SMT will be the last options cause they’re literally 2 the worst top tier planes rn(especially in SB). Even 11.7 M2KS4 with only 2 Magic 2’s and 2 530F/D’s will win 99 out of 100 fights against Su-27/29SMT in the game

And I do not agree that their missile can be defeated EASILY by any kind of planes. Just go try to 1v1 a su-27 or mig-29 at bvr range, they are definitely going to outclass any plane in war thunder. But all in all, it just depends on the situationl
@@dereks_zd6607 lmao, R-27ER is as easy to defeat as any other SARH: at long distances by turning sideways or cold and the missile will go to nowhere/will run out of energy, at close distances by just flying below 50-60m and the missile will go straight to the ground(even 6 of them, doesn’t matter) and 1v1 is even easier to play against these planes cause you can force em into mid/low speed BFM and annihilate them with a Vulcan without worrying about 15 other guys that can “3rd-party” you

Cmon man, if you have played top tier before, you will find out that r27ers are just better overall.It must be HARDER to flare compared to other SARH missiles.

Nerfs to the FM and performance do not come as a result of 'nerfs' for gameplay. This came as a result of a bug report identifying a discrepancy of the in-game performance as compared to known datapoints.

As an American main I’ll say, it’s crazy they have to nerf things because they are built for specific purposes in reality.
You do realise the stuff they add into the game isn't identical to the real things. Su-27 for instance has a garbage flight model to balance its missiles loadout (which is really dumb)

Firstly, it is very difficult to maintain vehicles exclusive to certain nations due to the globalized world, secondly, you may not have liked it, but the Italy mains probably liked it because before, Italy in relation to air was a completely abandoned tech tree...

@@wilmeroberg9794 that is what usually happens, the best mig-29 came out in german tree, the best f-5 came out in chinese tree, the best f-15 came out in japanese tree, the best f-16 came out in israeli tree etc. mainly because the origin nation will receive the best variant later. that is how gaijin does things, it's not like they are picking sweden to bully or something.

Now they can nerf the R-27ER speed (while still keeping it the fastest missile, just not so much more than everything else) and make it an even better day.
Realistically if it gets power creeped in the future when more modern 4th gens arrive it will get buffed back to patch day status.
The problem is right now there's not many planes that stack up to the grippen in terms of capabilities.

Granted it does take them a while to do so.
@@unlockingsnow8571 They buff soft stats like reload rate, and will add historically correct features that they’ve sat on to make a vehicle more competitive. But something like an aircraft sustained turn rate isn’t increased or decreased just to buff or nerf it.

still dont rlly get why the gripens sustained turnrate is so good to begin with. its an 'advanced' high t/w delta canard design, sure, but its still just that: a DELTA canard. gaijin gave the same treatment to the J-7E, which can almost outrate wing-slat F-86s in a 1v1 lol, despite being a double delta with the same thrust as the MiG-21MF (the weakest high tier fishbed in terms of t/w iirc?)

it sucks, i really expected the delta canard design to allow it to pull really cool high AoA maneuvers and ballsy tactics, but i find the gripen literally so boring to fly because all its good at is 2 circling for some reason??? like other than really good turn rate, the gripens turn 'radius' just feels so lame lol

Just because it's delta doesn't mean it will turn like Mirage III. There's much more into it than delta wing < normal wing.
The f-16 is a delta wing too…
The LERX on the f-16 are also delta shaped…
Even the tail plane on the f-16 is a delta wing.
There is much more to a wing than delta or not, the induced drag from turning is not limited to delta or not.
This combines with the fact that the gripen is a very aerodynamic aircraft, having the highest lift to drag of any delta canard (AFAIK).

Realistically, the F-15J should be the only F-15 to get ground ordnance until the F-15E comes out. Id just be happy gaijin went ahistorical and added ground ordnance to the F-15As.

If it really was bias then the Russian jets should be hyper maneuverable which they aren’t. They are absolute bricks which is funny because you would expect the American jets to be the bricks but no, they are the maneuverable ones.
