My baby hated tummy time but we were consistent and within a few weeks she loved it. I believe thanks to all of that tummy time she learned to crawl so fast. By 5 months she was army crawling and regular crawling by 6 months. She is now 9 months and cruising using the furniture... really waiting for those first independent steps.. ❤
Mine is 3 months and I'm starting I had no clue that you're supposed to start so early and mine freaks out but I guess technically he was doing it since a day old when he would lift his head while I held him on my chest and would do that ever since
I am 74 yrs old!! But as an infant i almost didn't make to the age of 74!! My mother put me on my back in the bassinet!! Well, if it wasn't for my grandmother who noticed i was choking...i ended up choking on a wad of phlegm!!! I grew up hearing that story many times! When i had my babies... thankfully in good health!! I either placed them on their sides but mostly on their tummies!! I was afraid of that they might choke on phlegm or vomit during the night!! So they slept on their sides or tummies!! They never had a problem or issue in either of those positions!!
My daughter just had a baby and I am telling her this very same story about not placing the baby on his tummy because he can choke and I'm hoping that she listens to me 🥺
@@nycgirlteethe baby should always be on their back to sleep. Side or tummy sleeping is not safe. I have a three month old and I cannot express to you how much the hospital drilled this into us. Including making us watch clips of mothers who lost their babies by letting them sleep in these ways, or in the parents bed.
@polytoxed ....But how about choking on the back? They forgot that part, as they focused on the back to sleep due to SIDS. I choked as an infant, on my back. My recommendations: Monitor your baby in any position and use baby monitors/cameras.
@@fyarstarterthere is still a chance, but the chance is smaller than on side or back. Babies have something to keep them from choking while on back, i forgot what exactly but im sure its on Google.
Pacifier was advised by our neonatal consultant for a whole host of reasons. Including the fact that it helps encourage feeding and improve their technique. Just don't continue past 1 year.
My youngest of three kids had a favorite place to sleep, on daddy's bare chest with her head snuggied in his bushy beard, starting on the day she was born!

My 2 weeks old wants to sleep on his tummy than his back.... he can sleep for a whole hour on tummy but on his back he keeps waking up... he tries to turn his body and head constantly ... is that ok?
No babies should never sleep on their tummy-the can suffocate themselves at night. Lay him on his back and roll two small blankets up, put them on either side of him and they should prevent him from rolling in the night, he’ll get used to sleeping on his back and then you won’t have any issues but never let him sleep on his tummy, back is always safest ❤
My 1 week old wants to turn to his Left side, so i swaddle him & the excess that goes over the feet gets tucked in a bunch under the side he keeps trying to turn to. It seems to make it more challenging for him to turn & so he sleeps on his back.
Ok, and being an athlete is special how? Your kids don't represent a significant portion of the population. That's like saying seatbelts are useless because you've never been in a car accident.

Most SIDS death due to position are on tummy. Its nit recommanded to let babies sleep on tummy, only tummy time.
What do you mean full term? My baby was born at 37 weeks but has no other medical condition. I can start right? Please support me
As soon as the baby is born ???? Wrong. Only after the cord gets dropped. Not before that
That makes sense. Always want to make sure that stump heals and doesn’t get infected.
Pedantry is alive and well here.
Makes sense. I’ve never had a baby but I think one of the first things they do after a baby is born is put them on mom’s chest.
What about a 1 month preterm baby?
If you all can avoid pacifier the first year it’ll be easier for the baby in the future, their denture will thank you! 🦷😁
I guess that’s good, cuz my baby won’t take a pacifier at all! She hates it 😅
It’s actually the pacifier being cut off by the second year that’ll help the “denture”
I agree 100%. None of my kids had binkies. Thumbs and fingers work just fine, and they're "standard equipment", free and don't get lost.

When to give tummy time, is it after feed or when the baby's stomach is empty?
20min after
Tummy time is crucial for handwriting, we had a physiotherapist or someone of that nature come in and they explained how crucial it is. Very important
after an hour
Beautiful baby

How long and how many times per day should they be doing Tummy Time
I find that newborns are typically ok with somewhere around 2-5 minute sessions at a time. If you can, shoot for 2-3 times a day.

What’s the point of tummy time? I have no experience with children.
It's to strengthen the neck and shoulder muscles, so it can start turning the head better and sit upright
It helps them practice and develop their gross motor skills.. typically babies who got more tummy time learn to roll, crawl and walk earlier than babies who got no tummy time.
😢МАЛЫШ ЖДЕТ БУТЫЛОЧКУ С МОЛОЧКОМ😢😢😢
Why do you want him on his stomach. Let him breathe on his back.
It strengthens their core, neck, and back muscles. They can still breathe perfectly fine.
Also this is gonna cause their skulls to be shaped weird in the back if they are always lying down 😊
