    In USA most VFR flying is done without Sids or Stars, not necessary to use Airways even. Just fly from uncontrolled airport to uncontrolled or Delta tower. Use pilotage and dead reckoning, wind correction etc. is where irl training starts, then gps or navaids. Good idea to follow vfr training training syllabus.

    Thank you very much for this video! Although I don't fly on Vatsim, the procedures are almost the same.
    But I have a question: I use P3D v4, and performing VFR flights is difficult because not all visual references are captured in the simulator, despite having the ORBX products (vector, global, OpenLC). Therefore, navigation becomes complex to the point of having to use VOR radials (but not flying only with radio beacons, obviously)
    Thank you very much again!

    1:22:20 You’re not wrong. There is a a couple freeware C172 realism mods that totally change the way it flies. It feels significantly more like flying the real thing. Both of the mods are great by themselves, but they work even better together. If you haven’t seen them, I’d highly suggest downloading them. The mods also change both the steam gauge and the G1000 versions.

      There are other tools like little nav map or Plan-G. I’m not entirely sure, but I think at least the latter comes with that ability. Simbrief is primarily an IFR tool, unless you somehow create custom waypoints but that can be rather cumbersome.

    I am sure I am too stupid. I do not get what I have to do with the QNH information. On an analogue altimeter is the QNH the left number that I have to enter?
    I watched several tutorials but I do not get what to do with this QNH

    • @AviationPro
      @AviationPro  Рік тому +1

      You have to enter the QNH value in the altimeter. In Europe they use milibars (mb) for that as measure, so you use that scale to put it in. In the US they use inches of mercury (inHg) and you will hear in an ATIS a value like 'altimeter 29.92'. Then you use that scale to put it in ;)

    • @thomas_ger4098
      @thomas_ger4098 Рік тому

      @@AviationPro so my understanding is that the left scale can be used for the QNH value. So that means I turn the knob until the left scale shows me the number of the given QNH.
      The crazy thing about this is that I set the scale to the given QNH value but the altimeter showed me that I am at a level below zero standing in the parking position.
      I wonder if I have to set up anything additionally in Microsoft Flight Simulator?

    • @AviationPro
      @AviationPro  Рік тому +1

      @@thomas_ger4098 It should work like that yes. Of course the weather needs to actually match the QNH value otherwise it doesn't make sense putting a wrong QNH in. Airports below sea level will naturally show below zero altitudes. When you put the QNH in you should see the elevation of the airport on your altimeter. The altimeter is just a barometer, that's all :)

    • @thomas_ger4098
      @thomas_ger4098 Рік тому
