My definitive playthough of the StarCraft 2 Campaign Collection trilogy and Nova mission pack. Each mission video will be a walkthrough explaining and executing strategies to succeed and obtain most achievements on Brutal difficulty. All dialogues, cinematics, and story-related material will be at the end of each video.
In some cases I omit completing Mastery achievements that would require a separate playthrough detracting from a full showcase of the mission in question.
Achievements completed this video:
Demolition Man - Complete the Shatter the Sky mission without losing a unit to a Platform explosion on Normal difficulty.
Speed Too! - Complete the Shatter the Sky mission on Hard difficulty in less than 25 minutes.

I would say having the towers on the outside was an oversight from Blizzard... imagine you would have to send an unit in to place a charge or something and not having them destroyed from the outside. Nukes could have done that too. (Thats how i usually take em down after all). Making the objections to "Orbital Nuking them" not working kind of a lie.
Yeah cause you're required to destroy the coolant tower,not the burrowed tower.
So... If the cooling towers were exposed, why wasn't Tychus' suggestion taken more seriously? You'd only need 'surface detonations' if your target's on the fucking surface!
I usually do this mission instead of Belly of the Beast, so I can make a team of at least 10 Banshees and go through the area around the base in the next mission just destroying Nydus Canals as they appear.

They likely did you you have to board the space platform first to pull it off. Its just a simple sabotage mission.
The cave mission is more interesting, but arguably the space platform mission is better to play. If you neuter the Zerg's ability to produce air creatures, you can save on minerals spent on anti-air turrets. Even better, you can save on SUPPLIES spent on aerial superiority units, and build up a bigger groundforce. Get you some of them Banshee girls to hunt down Nidus Worms as soon as they emerge, harass Zerg attacks and help put Kerrigan down faster when she attacks, and you are GOLDEN. Or, even MORE Siege Tanks, because the damn Zerg are DEFINITELY hurtin' for a squirtin'.
One reason why I choose this mission is because I love the Battlecruisers with the missiles attacks.
The Battlecruisers is my favorite Terran unit in SC1 since I started to play.
Firebats in this game are so much more useful in more missions than in starcraft 64, remastered, mass recall, etc...
I remember that huge zerg as i was defending against the queen i had to use my ships to fire blast and then retreat and get repaired and repeat i think
At least the mission allows building new units unlike belly of the beast.
How about making a big force during All in, made of Diamondbacks, Vultures, Helions and other stuff you never really use?

Those coolant towers could have been taken care of by nukes, which makes the entire mission irrelevant.
I agree. It would make more sense if you instead need it to deploy some unit like a SCV or Ghost/Specter in some control beacon for certain amount of time to overheat/shut down the reactors and bring down the platform.
you could have just made 30 or so spectres and psionic lashed the fuck out of the leviathan

I think this and the secret mission are the only missions in wol that takes place on a space platform.

Nah; but it would have been cool if it was. I'm not sure if it could have been written like that though story-wise, as Raynor nor anyone else shown in this invasion was there during those events.
Got to say, I like your new take on the series. I watched your videos on SC2 a long time ago but forgot most of them. After binging this new campaign in just a day, I went to your old SC2 campaign to binge and oh boy were you such an insufferable whiner back then. You can't just have a single minute in the whole series not complaining about every single bit just for the sake of complaining that it gets extremely frustrating to watch... So I stopped and I'll just wait for these new videos because at least, the whining is gone (or at least I haven't noticed them.) Just pure gameplay commentary and how to tackle the missions.

So it turns out Warfield is full of shit because this mission can be beaten using only using Specter/Ghost nukes. . .
