On Reworking an Old Painting - cold wax and oils

When you have an old painting that just didn’t make a cut - you have a few options… donate it, burn it OR! Rework it. I have decided not to use an easy path. Join me in this “fun” process in reworking my underwater abstract lilies and giving it a completely different “ face”

Can you varnish over the wax?

So, you just start painting on the dry painting?

Yes. As long as your oil painting is fully dry and not varnished, you can rework it :)
