I love this! I was expecting watercolors- but you’re rocking the markers. It looks amazing!
Thank you very much, Tara. There is another video on watercolour sketchbook through Europe as well :)
That was a great demo! 😊. Thank you! I love painting plein air in Winter, though my tolerance for cold is dropping as I age. Nowadays I have knit socks on my hands with the little heating pads in them. I push the brush handle through the weave of the sock, (if coarse woven), or through a hole, if tighter woven. That way I have my fingers directly on the brush and retain full dexterity. Also, when I have to use my bare hands, socks come on and off much quicker and easier than mittens or gloves .
Thank you very much:) What a great idea! Might try it myself :)
beautiful work! is your easel selfmade? i m looking for small travel gear but hard to find.
Thank you very much. I have many different set ups when I paint outdoors, depending how big I want to paint or how far to hike. This one is a u.Go box 6”x8” really compact and light. It is perfect for small panels and when you want to travel light
Nicely done. Painting outside around Edmonton in Feb is a challenge.
Beautiful work! You made a nice picture in such a short time. Thank you!
Thank you very much, Yelena:)
❤❤❤
Adorei seu trabalho en Palin air .👏🎨
Nice study, Oksana-the light is beautiful. You must have been freezing!
Thank you, John. It was a bit chilly by the the end :)
Nice study.
Hello,witch color using??
Que bonito❤
beautiful. question for you. how well does the coldwax mix adhere to the canvas?
Hello . Thank you for watching. Cold wax adheres to canvas just like oil paint . You can use cold wax as is ( to create texture and glaze or paint with oils on top) if you can mix your oils with it . It also makes your oils dry faster . Happy painting!
@@zheliskoart thanks for the reply. but to what degree does it stick to a surface such as a damar glaze, or say acrylic, raw canvas etc. I think this would be a great instructional video. (though it might take some time to see the results) I can tell you that oil stick on a damar/oil mix tends to flake over time. there is some difference in drying speeds that causes this? I dont know...
Just like oil paint. Never had problems if it flaking off . You just need to be patient and let it cure for at least 3 months before varnishing. As it can be dry to the touch quickly but not fully cured . Application of varnish will give you another protection and archival factor to your painting
My class did this in grade 5. It was fun and I've wanted to do it again sometime. Thanks for the tutorial. I couldn't remember how to do this. Maybe I'll try next yr. Your design is beautiful.
Thank you for watching! It is a lot of fun :)
Loved venturing out with you virtually. Plein air painting is a wonderful experience. Lovely result.
Thank you for your kind words. Can’t wait to paint spring greens and blooms .
I really appreciated your video tutorial. Thank you!
Thank you very much for watching
One of the finest artists of our times and for times to come 😊
❤❤
So realistic ! Photo like
Wow 👌
Beautiful ❤
I'm neither Ukrainian nor Christian, but I've wanted to try doing this since I was maybe three years old. Maybe someday I'll get the chance 💖 They're so pretty.
Thank you very much for your kind words and for watching. Pysanky making is a form of art and so much fun. Hope you will be able to try it soon :)
Well done, ma’am.
You've done a great job painting this scene! Thanks for sharing your processQ
Thank you for watching and your kind feedback :)
I loved following your plein air. It is so inspiring! Thanks
Thank you very much. I am glad that you got inspired :)
I won't be eating that yellow snow. Thanks for sharing this little exercise in plein aire.
so sweet and helpful thank you
I am glad that you have enjoyed it :)
Awesome job, and only in 20 min! good tips 2.
I enjoyed watching you paint your quick 20 minute study, and it turned out so well. You achieved a very nice composition and I love your colors. Thank you for sharing your adventure.
Very cool, thanks for sharing it.
Thank you for watching:)
At 1:41 - thought it was another painting at first glimpse! Beautiful surroundings. 🙂
Amazing work, especially under those conditions. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Great demo, Oksana! I enjoy your teaching and encouragement, and am inspired to try plein air too… but not with an audience, lol.
Thank you very much, Vera. I really encourage you to try it. It might be a little challenging at first but really rewarding and meditative . Keep creating! You are doing great!
Well done, you achieved a great study for 20 minutes. It's amazing what you can do when you're against the clock. Working in those harsh conditions too....
Thank you very much, Nick. No brushstroke was waisted, that’s for sure :)
@@zheliskoart Yes, I see that. I paint much better outdoors. You need full attention and adrenaline
Great video!! How cold was it anyway?
Thank you very much. Not too cold. Maybe -5. The sun was actually warm, but infinite I was in the shade
I did enjoy watching! Thanks! Also love the time constraint.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for your kind words
💕💯🎨🎨🎨
Wonderful demo, Oksana. All your plein air paintings in this video turned out beautifully. Do you prefer canvas over panels? Is it difficult to get them back to your car or do you use some kind of wet canvas carrier?
Thank you very much:) it was such an amazing trip. I like to work on panels if it is a small study . For bigger paintings I use canvas. It also depends if I am hiking far or staying close to my car. I have a multiple set ups with uGO and Italian easel . Wet Carrier , box lids , anything works :)
I loved watching this. You're so inspiring and you make it look so easy. I've been a fan of your work on FB and am thrilled to see you have a UA-cam channel. Looking forward to more demos to watch and learn from. I see from your bio, you are also of Ukrainian descent. No wonder you paint so well! :D
Thank you so much! This was definitely not an easy one;) between painting out in a cold, trying to film and deal with people :) lol. But I love a good challenge. Yes, I am from Ukraine :) Thank you for your kind feedback :)
Can you varnish over the wax?
I’d love to know more about your plein air set up.. 😊
I do have a few videos about my previous set up . Feel free to check it out on my Chanel. Now my set up is a bit different. I will make another video in the spring time. Thank you for your suggestion
I love it! With the pottery tool did you cut back to the canvas?
Yes I did:)
I learned a lot....just bought my first pot of cold wax. Cannot wait to experiment
I am really happy that this video was helpful. I know that you will have a lot of fun with the cold wax. Happy painting!
