From jazz to pop and even disco, Roberta Flack has been delighting fans with her sophisticated sound and intricate musical arrangements for more than three decades. This concert features the legendary vocalist and pianist performing light jazz, romantic ballads and career favorites before a live audience in Washington, D.C. This concert was recorded June 15, 2000 at BET's Studio II in Washington, D.C. The show premiered on the BET program "Jazz Central" later that year. Program content and artwork BET ON JAZZ.

She is one of the best female voices out there.
Came back to say that her remix of “Why Don’t You Move in With Me” and “The Thrill is Gone” may have gone under the radar with some folks, but not me. I find those songs quite a joy to hear. I love her spin on them in 2000. I love her original of “Why Don’t You Move in With Me” from the 70s, but I love all of her live versions as well. But this live version is supreme IMO. The lead up to “The Thrill is Gone” is just as entertaining as the song itself. And I love the story behind the lyric change of “Sweet Georgia Brown”. That is another song she remixed to perfection. I honestly wished this was a two-hour performance just so we could’ve gotten more of her blowing our minds on the stage. ❤️💫✨🤗
YEah , good that you mention , I was a bit away, thanks dear,. Soo. many, but indeed: not Miss R. Flack I learnt about her reallylie 47 years ago in an NL Radio program from Willem Duys, he made the Public aware of toop artists.
This concert was amazing. I remember it airing on BET Jazz channel, but it is a gift to see it again all these years later. Ms. Flack has wonderful stage presence and rapport with the audience. I also enjoy her connection with the bands she plays with. Her direction of them, she is basically producing/co producing (or directing) the show. I love to see it. I showed this concert in my class today, since we have been watching her documentary and she is our door theme for BHM. My students really enjoy it and some who were in the back of the room slowly moved to the front to be closer to the screen. And then requested to see another concert when this one ended. 🤗❤️🖤💚💫✨

Me too. It makes her sound so rich. If I’m not mistaken, I think she began doing that with the Feels Like Making Love album…the album she first produced.
