That's a key thing I found to be missing in Veilguard. The music didn't draw you in like this song and the overall Inquisition song. The scene when they escape the village and everyone starts singing in Inquisition brought tears to my eyes and to my husband's. The music in Veilguard never had an instand like that, it was generic MCU type music, nothing haunting it it to bring up emotion like this song did. The only music in Veilguard that drew any haunted emotions were reprises from Inquisition.
Veilguard's soundtrack was so lackluster compared to inquisition. It was a huge miss for me and it was obvious that hans zimmer was the wrong choice as the composer.
Absolutely agree. There were only two original (as in not heard before) tracks that I even remember. The Nevarran Tomb combat music and the last Harding quest ambient music. There was also some track with modern synth in it which was completely baffling to hear in Dragon Age. What a tragedy.

The fact DA:I and it's DLC are as old as they are and they still make me cry. This is so beautiful and I had chills the entire time I listened, and this gives me motivation to finish my new Lavellan playthrough (obviously romancing Solas, of course.)
I just played the part when Haven gets destroyed, and when it got to the Inquisitor talking to Solas about the Orb, THIS started to play that's on my list! I got f-ing CHILLS! WOAH!
I heard this once around two weeks ago and now whenever I think of the song the part at 2:45 just plays and it takes me a second to realize that isn't in the actual version
"Lavellan sometimes came awake from dreams in which her lover watched her sadly from across an endless distance. If they were more than simple dreams she could not say, for every time she reached for him, he vanished into nothing." I romanced Cullen but I really think it best and recommend people to romance Solas if they want a completely immersive and heart wrenching story experience. Solas was my best friend and knowing that I have to stop him now is breaking my heart, I can only imagine how Solasmancers feel. But still, I think romancing Solas gives you a completely different perspective into where the story goes and despite the heartbreak, you should experience it. It's so sad but so beautiful.

I just finished my first playthrough, and I was also romancing Cullen! I adore that man, but the ending of Trespasser still felt weirdly intimate considering he wasn't my romance. I immediately started a new playthrough, where I'm going to be the exact same Inquisitor as before, just romancing Solas instead. I usually make first runs of games my canon, but I think Solavellan might become my canon. It's all I can think about, and I haven't even reached a point in this new playthrough where I can flirt with him yet. It is literally all I can think about..... I've just been listening to this piece and sobbing all day.

This part just makes me think the game is ended and it destroys me every time, even if I know I can play it again as many times I want. I just love the characters and I'm even disappointed you can't talk to them more in Trespasser. Anyway, I rarely play a Lavellan Inquisitor, my standard Inquisitor is a Trevelyan but this soundtrack makes me cry too
When they showed the trailer for DA4 and just did the song, then showed the shadow beast mural in the wall...I spoke the words... "Fen'Harel...the dread wolf?" And as they left my lips, I felt like I had betrayed my old friend, saying that name instead of solas

Since I'm a girl with a multitude of disabilities I can't always play every single game so I try to study the lore through the music and this has to be one of my favorite pieces from dragon age Inquisition I haven't played it but I swear if I did this would easily be one of my favorite pieces from the entire score I haven't quite heard the entire score but this is easily one of my most favorites right now :-) and before anyone says anything yes I did hear the original version I discovered the original version after I heard this version and they're both equally great in their own way if you ask me :-) ️❤️

Allow me to be Claire I wasn't very clear in the last comment my disabilities include hydrocephalus which is fluid on the brain and LMC which is a brain eating bacterial disease which got rerouted due to the hydrocephalus meaning it was supposed to attack my brain but got rerouted and couldn't sword attacked my eyes instead which severely scarred my retinas and severely damaged my optic nerves beyond repair rendering me completely blind as a baby hence for the reason why I study music because sound is one of the only things I had to go by when I was born and as far as the multiple sclerosis goes I can be a very rough pain to because it can disrupt your skeletal system as far as I know and as such I can't balance very well even if I'm standing up or sitting down so if any of you already know me and you know or seen any of my future or past videos excuse me and you see me moving back and forth that is exactly why because of the fact that I can't firmly plant my feet on the floor and balance due to the multiple sclerosis and that can be very rough I am learning ways on how to cope with it though one thing I can say is I'm very proud of myself for finding ways to cope with it but at the same time I really can't stand it because all I really want is to be like others and even with my money talents such as singing in voice acting those are things I used to cope but not exactly taking away the pain of the past which by that I mean being made fun of for my various disabilities and so I find characters in games that I tend to identify with I haven't quite found a character yet to identify with here but eventually there's a high chance I might find one if I ever do get the chance to play in fact I hope I do get the chance to play sometime this seems like a really good series :-) I'm sorry about the long exposition it's just that sometimes when I say something people either tend to not believe me or they take it the wrong way without hearing me out first so I figured I would explain myself so there's no awkwardness later if that makes sense :-) in other words awkwardness so there isn't any later but if anyone has any questions feel free to ask and I will be happy to answer them accordingly :-)
