David Shadman The elves can be restored and they should. The veil took everything from the world and it needs to go. What need to happen is a way to bring it down in such a way that it doesnt cause mass destruction IF possible. But Ultimately Im with solas on this. Humans enslaving and killing and kicking his people in the dirt like the nazis thedas humans are, is why solas feels the need to do what hes doing. At least the evanuris uplifted his people as a society, and they may have been dicks. But humans man, just fucking sick and cruel and evil even without godly power going to their heads.

Solas is honestly one of if not the greatest villain I've experienced in fiction. His character is so incredibly well-rounded, layered, fleshed-out, and realistically emotional. Damn egg
@@kamen42 With situations like this, it's a matter of perspective. On the one hand he freed the world from tyrannical deities. Yes it tore apart the known world for the elves, but according to Solas, any other plan could've outright destroyed it. On the other hand, now he wants to undo what he did which will not only possible destroy the world but also bring back the false gods. One may agree with his intentions, but not his methods.
@@kamen42 He's not a villain along the lines of Corypheus or Diablo but as you said he is very well rounded out and strongly reminds me of Irenicus in his layers and what drives him. Overall his goal is bad, but what motivates him is what separates him and makes Solas/Irenicus more sympathetic than some grandiose megalomaniac you can hate.
@@kamen42 He's a villain, no question. He wants to kill everyone, and you are meant to stop him, so yea. Whether or not he's EVIL is a different story, but he is a villain/antagonist of the game (and will be for DA4) but villains aren't always bad.
The best "villains" in fiction are always the ones whose motives are in the gray areas, as opposed to the black or white areas. When you think they might have a point, they stop being caricatures of evil and start being a challenge.
True, only character I truly very like from DA series, funny is, that I dont like him when first playing, I was thought "meh, he is without hair, and ugly and boring and died almost every time" :D and then end of main campaign become, that was such mindfuck that I must play again an be more attentive. And now, when I finished trespasser (with Solavellan :3) I cryed two hours, it was so depressing and beautiful sametime. T_T :) Bioware make very good work on that game. :) (sorry if what I wrote is little strange, I knew english on medium level and google is not good enough for my language) :D
Honestly I didn't like Solas either until the end of the game, but I never disliked him for typical reasons, I respect his character so much, that my own personality clashes with his, even though he's just a fictional character. My first playthrough I got far as I could with his friendship as I played a human and couldn't romance him, then my second playthrough was of his complete enemy (She was a Templar) So it was very interesting to play this DLC twice, once as his good friend trying to stop him, and talk sense into him, and the other as his enemy who wanted to stop a lunatic from destroying the world. Now with my newest file to romance him. (I also hear about how amazing his romance is)

I was first dissapointed because I dont understand why this char is romanceable only with elf female, but after mythals temple and trespasser its make sence. :) Funny is, when I start playing DAO Zevran very charmed me, because of his interests of "bed time" :D lately in DA2 Fenris was so cute and lovely, I symphatize with him because he was slave and have sad past. :3 Now this two interests me none, only Solas stay in my hearth, like the best pc char I have played with and romanced... :) Its pity that DAI is not translate to my language, Now I understand almost all thinks, but on first playthrou I dont understand many thinks and in the end main campaign I was very suprised that Solas is "Fen'harel" and more. :D
Aurilndia Yeah, I never romanced Zevy but I did Fenris, I was eh with him, Solas does seem very interesting, and I actually cant wait to romance him. I find it funny that a dalish elf romances "Fen'Harel" even though they always say watch out for the dread wolf. It sucks DAI doesnt translate to your language. Where are you from?
GamerWolf I think is ironic that dalish elf dated Fe'Harel is funny and cute. :D And Im from Czechia, its in the middle of europe. We have some games translate by professionals but my country have no more contract with electronic arts and bioware, so games from them must be translated by fans for free and because our language is five harder on the world, if I remmember well :D sooo is not always possible get games translated, its because we have many expressions for one english word, so even for us is hard translate to form makes sence. And DAI have weeery many sentences to translate... But this worries me no more, I already learn enough english to understand main story. :) it only little pity that I not enjoy that game in relax state, always I had to very concetrate to understand whats going on. :D
This piece is so powerful even if you're not romanced to solas. The romance adds a different layer to it, but I can equally hear the desperation of trying to catch a dear friend before they take that final step too far
I would normally agree with this sort of statement, but in all honesty... I just completed this for the first time yesterday. My Inquisitor is a Dalish mage, and she romanced Cullen, and I had intended that to be my canon story. But then I experienced this, and the score combined with the looming desperation and the fact that for whatever reason, the rest of the party doesn't also travel through the Eluvian; I still felt this scene was oddly romantic. Or "romanticized" is likely the better way to describe it. This interaction alone has made me restart a playthrough with the exact same Inquisitor simply to change the romance choice. I'm testing out if I'd rather have that be canon, and although I adore Cullen... It's difficult to feel like the game isn't pulling you in the direction of being with Solas.
To me, it feels like Solas isn’t trying to do the whole “end the world” bit just to bring back the life he once had, but to see which life is worth fighting for. You (the player character) survived the planned explosion along with the main antagonist (Corypheus), and through the course of fighting to stop him, Solas began to doubt whether or not his plans are something that should be followed through, simply because of your actions. He wants to save his people and stop the Evanuris from being in power again, but at the same time, he doesn’t want to kill innocent people and lose his best friend, or lover, in the process.
A year later. Still getting dev tweets about writing stuff. So... its not confirmed officially, but its still happening. (Hopefully before we die or TES 6. Whichever comes first.)
I love the implications of the title of this piece. It plays while we're looking for "our lost elf", while he has lost himself in that mad plan of his. And he's been lost for thousands of years. Damn fitting.
Very few themes manage to portray a character so well as Lost Elf does. It's ancient, tragic, brutal and mysterious, just like him. It breaks your heart, what a masterpiece.
I was so disappointed by the ending of the main questline. But this DLC saved the game for me. One of those rare times a DLC actually was worth all of its money, if not more. Chapeau to Trevor Morris. Amazing soundtrack worthy of my favorite game trilogy. I hope DA4´s composer will be just as good as him and Inon Zur.
i think it was really shitty of them to make it a DLC, though, since it's basically the true ending that'll affect the next games. that should've been a part of the full game, not a DLC. but yeah, it was def amazing to play, regardless of that

The Lost Elf theme is a melody that directly summarizes the relationship between Solas and Lavellan in Trespasser. It starts with a paced piano that runs like the ticking of a clock, a reminder that time is running out. The strings gradually increase. Solas is represented by the cello and Lavellan by the violin. (Throughout the entire song, they’re having a desperate back-and-forth conversation that can be heard both in the forefront and background of the melody-if you listen with headphones it’s even more noticeable). The violin enters at 0:16 with a pleading accompaniment to how quickly their time is ticking; i.e. the piano. It’s the first real addition of emotion to the song. The first “chorus” at 0:36 features the dramatic cries of the cello-of Solas-telling his story. In the background you can hear the faint violin trailing above it all like Lavellan’s voice of reason. When the chorus fades, we fall back to the piano. Tick tock. The second wave of music, announced almost by a war drum at 1:22, features deep, haunting bass and cello, likely reflecting Solas’s plans and his determination to see them through. Lavellan’s reply clashes with this tune in an almost eerie mash of strings, reaching it’s height at 1:46 in raw emotion that swells and dips… Only to fall back to the ticking clock at 2:09. Violin solo. A gentle sound, beautiful and miserable and pleading. Lavellan’s urging is answered by the climax of the song at 2:37. Strong, harrowing strings accompany Solas and the Inquisitor in a final conversation (can you hear the instruments talking?) that is eventually swallowed by the heartbroken melody when the chorus hits its peak at 3:00. Now they are both singing along. The sadness has engulfed both parties and there is no conversation anymore, no rebuttal, only gut-wrenching music as they are forced apart by goal and duty. And after the climax fades, again comes the ticking of the clock at 3:25, along with a weepy cello and violin accompaniment that ends the song with a final tear as Solas leaves through the eluvian.

you will use another protagonist, and based on your choices at the end of the dlc, you will probably be able to redeem Solas or kill him and probably the inquisitor will be in the new game but with not as a protagonist
Teacher, friend, lover, betrayer, mortal enemy...solas is all these things and he truly does make you feel dead inside and for lack of a better phrase a “lost elf”
Gosh I love this. I always thought that the way Solas speaks is very melodic. He is always so calm and his words sound so well chosen. I could listen to his stories about the fade forever. It feels like listening to a poem, really. And this melody underlines his way of speaking, it's elegant, sounds sad and longing and I love it. This melody is Solas. Enough said.
Patrick Weekes, the man who wrote Solas's character, would listen to "Hallelujah" often when writing his scenes, so Solas speaks in Iambic Pentameter (a heartbeat rhythm) from time-to-time. You gain approval when replying in the same way. This just adds to the overall sadness of Solas's character...
I completely agree. I just finished my second play through and romanced Solas at was such a different experience from my first one where he and my character were just friends. It added so much depth.
Seriously. Friendship is so good but the romance just pushes it that bit further. There have been romances with characters who heavily impact the story (Morrigan and Anders) and they're so freaking impactful but they have nothing on Solavellan like ...jesus

Newovar inquisition was my first dragon age game and then I played origins. initially I didn't like inquisition and didn't play it till a year later, but boy.... What a fucken ride.
Just want to say, the idea of playing as a new character trained by the Inquisitor in DA4 would be amazing. Especially interesting if they make disbanding the Inquisition canon. Gives the Inquisitor a certain 'Big Boss' feel.
The dlc has if not the best ending to any game ever created and i mean in the combat and finale scene. This was biowares final atonement for being truly original.😭
I didn't have the chance of playing Dragon Age, but this music have a great importance to me. I'm playing d&d with a group of friend for more than a year now on the same campaign. I love these people, and DMing them is the joy of my week. Despite lockdown and every thing life could throw at us, we still managed to meet (online lately) and play for a few hours. I have this spotify playlist from a random user that is superb for role playing, and it must be magic, because the tracks it gives me always sync perfectly with the situation. And when one of druid finally meets her mother, or when the barbarian makes peace with his anger, or when after 3 days of fighting the party finally wakes up at sea knowing they did the right thing and survived, it's always this song. When I hear it, I see in my head the landscapes and cities my friends and I created, the parties we did in make believe fantasy pubs, and the beautiful stories we share. We created a world all for ourselves, and it brings us closer in the real one. I feel grateful for this beautiful piece, and for the moments I shared with my friend while it was playing. So thank you, Trevor Morris.
In the End, Solas isn't a bad guy, he's just doing what is best for his people. Initially, he thought everyone was fake that everything was just an illusion we had no emotion or anything. Through your Friendship, he realizes that all of you are indeed alive, but he isn't deterred, he will regret the loss but he will do what he feels is needed, and he'll allow the survivors to join and his new elven society
I always play the same Lavellan (I saved his sliders lol) and make the same choices and always become friends with Solas, so I know what happens, but this part of the game always breaks my heart, and I always promise Solas that I'm going to save him from himself. This piece is such a perfect fit to that, and I half wonder if the music influenced that decision in my very first play through. This score is absolutely beautiful. "I would treasure the chance to be wrong once again, my friend."
Albert Ho Jowan can either be executed, sent back to the Circle or set free. If he’s set free then a new Chanter’s board quest will unlock and you can find him, you can then either let him go or kill him, his story is concluded afterwards. If you didn’t kill Anders, Varric explains to the Inquisitor that Anders stayed with the mage refugees for a while but had to leave due to the other mages blaming him for them being refugees and hating him for it, his current whereabouts are unknown.
Listening to this song I can only envision a dream sequence of Lavellan wandering around in a dream like forrest area unsure of where she is until she finds solas walking in a particular direction. She follows periodically calls out to him only for him to turn around once, and for her to reach out with her left arm (in the dream she still has her arm.) only for him to turn his back to her after giving her a sad look of longing and turning into a wolf as he walks away and her arm dissipates as he does. Then she falls to her knees.
Step 1: Female elf because max romance options. Step 2: I'd be interested in hearing your opinions of elven culture. Step 3: You think I'm graceful? NO. I'm declaring it. Step 4: Solasmance once again.
DIPTANGSHU MISHRA literally had to play as anything but a female elf to avoid this happening and force myself to romance other characters (Dorian, Cass and Cullen) but I’m still going to make a new female Lavellan and romance Solas again, because apparently I love pain!

Bioware did an amazing job creating Solas, that's for sure. Such a strong and meaningful character. I personally never romanced him (or just not yet) because even with a F!Lavellan Inquisitor I tend to run into the arms of my Iron Bull... But at my first playthrough he was my best friend and the end of Trespasser made me miserable for days. Then I finished the game with a character that despised him and I was so upset even then. Hell, even now, just thinking about it makes me sad and furious at the same time. That's what I like about DA games, they always make me feel real emotions. Which is why I'll always prefer RPGs.
I feel like this song is the theme of the elves as a whole. They used to be on top of the world, then they lost everything (twice), and are now scattered and *lost* in a world that has since turned against them. They lost their culture and history, and they are now lost and wandering as they try to rebuild it.
I: "Let me help you, Solas." S: "I cannot do that to you, vhenan." I: "But you would do it to yourself? I cannot bear to think of you alone." S: "I walk the din'anshiral. There is only death on this journey. I would not have you see what I become." 😭😭😭😭😭 definitely among the best DLCs I've ever played. And this theme takes its place as one of the best themes I've ever heard.
Listening to this theme for probably the 6000th time and still getting sucker punched in the feels. Thank you Trevor Morris for inflicting +500 emotional damage to my heart.
I know this is Solas' theme and it played to great effect during the end of Trespasser, but this theme reminds me more of Dorian's exchange with Inquisitor when he finds out about the hand slowly killing him, absolutely heartbreaking.
This is an absolutely brilliant and beautiful piece of music, I adore it to bits 😍 To me, this is pretty much the theme for my elven inquisitor after the events of the game, trespasser dlc included. When you think about it, the elf inquisitor's story is very sad, especially if Solas is romanced. For example, what made my Inquisitor so sad in the end: 1. Her clan died, including all her friends and possible family. She had planned in the beginning to return home once this whole Inquisition business is over and done with, but now there is no home, no friends, no family anymore. 2. She finds out how little knowledge her and the rest of the dalish actually have of their culture and much of that is actually, false. Needless to say her faith was shaken. 3. the man she loved walked away from her without explaining much as to why he needed to go, even after he promised her that once they dealt with Corypheus, he'd explain himself. Then a whole two years goes by ( two years of confusion and heartbreak, I must add. When she fell in love with him, she hoped that she could stay and travel with him after everything is done, now that she isn't going back to Free Marches after all, that he'd show/teach her more of the fade and spirits, but then he is just gone. Without even properly saying goodbye.) until she finally reunites with him, only to find out that he is not the man she thought he was, but he is actually a god. And not just any god, he is the one she has been told ber whole life to stay away from, the one not to trust. 4. Said elven god who broke her heart just told her that he is going to kill everyone in order to bring back the old world of the elves. As a dalish ( and one very interested in history, lore, magic, spirits and the like) Lavellan kind of does emphatize with him, but knows she can't let him go on with his plans. After all, she is the Inquisitor, people look up to her for guidance and protection. Just as Solas needs to destroy Thedas for the good of his people, Lavellan has to stop him for the exact same reason. She tells him that she attemps to redeem him, show him a better way than killing everyone, but deep down she is not at all certain she can do it. She just hopes she can find some way, anything, than killing him, because even after everything she has learned of him, she still cares. So yeah.. Lady Inquisitor Lavellan is indeed one lost, sad elf in the end :,(

But, as another godly asshole once said *"all dreams end when the dreamer wakes"* I am the dawn that wakes the dreamer, and my blade is as bell to banish all ill-tempered dreams.
“What is the old Dalish curse? May the Dread Wolf take you.” “And so he did.” 🥺😢😭 Sorry, but I’m not sorry, I want to help Solas return the world to what it was before and grant the Elven people their immortality and magic back. Thedas was originally their continent (at least the surface). I’m worried about the other old gods getting released & curious to see how things are when spirits & the living walk the same plane of existence.
Also, the "And now you know" line, the voice acting there is so extremely perfect. I've been put into eternal sorrow untill I can reunite my Lavellan with him 😭.
Do you remember that one hyping theme when you traveled to skyhold? You become so emotionaly invested in this world and in its characters! Start to understand their motivations! What keeps them going... And then after 200 hours of living in this world the story ends with one of the saddest videogame betrayals ever.

Trespasser was a great way to end Inquisition. Hard hitting and harmoniously epic.

in my personal opinion it hits even harder when Solas is the Inquisitor's BFF. because by this point Solas would have already broken up with Lavellan
I would normally agree with this sort of statement, but in all honesty... I just completed this for the first time yesterday. My Inquisitor is a Dalish mage, and she romanced Cullen, and I had intended that to be my canon story. But then I experienced this, and the score combined with the looming desperation and the fact that for whatever reason, the rest of the party doesn't also travel through the Eluvian; I still felt this scene was oddly romantic. Or "romanticized" is likely the better way to describe it. This interaction alone has made me restart a playthrough with the exact same Inquisitor simply to change the romance choice. I'm testing out if I'd rather have that be canon, and although I adore Cullen... It's difficult to feel like the game isn't pulling you in the direction of being with Solas.
He was my Inquisitor's BFF, and I really loved his character. All I can hope for is being able to show him differently.
To me, it feels like Solas isn’t trying to do the whole “end the world” bit just to bring back the life he once had, but to see which life is worth fighting for.
You (the player character) survived the planned explosion along with the main antagonist (Corypheus), and through the course of fighting to stop him, Solas began to doubt whether or not his plans are something that should be followed through, simply because of your actions.
He wants to save his people and stop the Evanuris from being in power again, but at the same time, he doesn’t want to kill innocent people and lose his best friend, or lover, in the process.
It hits so hard even in the friend route, because it shows how deeply they cared for each other, as friends do, not shown in media often enough
If they never finish this series there will be hell to pay.
It was when they threatened to reboot it, I nearly died.
A year later. Still getting dev tweets about writing stuff. So... its not confirmed officially, but its still happening. (Hopefully before we die or TES 6. Whichever comes first.)

I love the implications of the title of this piece. It plays while we're looking for "our lost elf", while he has lost himself in that mad plan of his. And he's been lost for thousands of years. Damn fitting.
Very few themes manage to portray a character so well as Lost Elf does. It's ancient, tragic, brutal and mysterious, just like him. It breaks your heart, what a masterpiece.

I was so disappointed by the ending of the main questline. But this DLC saved the game for me. One of those rare times a DLC actually was worth all of its money, if not more. Chapeau to Trevor Morris. Amazing soundtrack worthy of my favorite game trilogy. I hope DA4´s composer will be just as good as him and Inon Zur.
i think it was really shitty of them to make it a DLC, though, since it's basically the true ending that'll affect the next games. that should've been a part of the full game, not a DLC. but yeah, it was def amazing to play, regardless of that

they knew we would pay for the ending because the story doesn't end at inquisiton. They knew we'd want to play the true ending so they seperated it as an added IP so they can make extra money on the side. That's EA for you.
The Lost Elf theme is a melody that directly summarizes the relationship between Solas and Lavellan in Trespasser. It starts with a paced piano that runs like the ticking of a clock, a reminder that time is running out. The strings gradually increase. Solas is represented by the cello and Lavellan by the violin. (Throughout the entire song, they’re having a desperate back-and-forth conversation that can be heard both in the forefront and background of the melody-if you listen with headphones it’s even more noticeable). The violin enters at 0:16 with a pleading accompaniment to how quickly their time is ticking; i.e. the piano. It’s the first real addition of emotion to the song. The first “chorus” at 0:36 features the dramatic cries of the cello-of Solas-telling his story. In the background you can hear the faint violin trailing above it all like Lavellan’s voice of reason.
When the chorus fades, we fall back to the piano. Tick tock.
The second wave of music, announced almost by a war drum at 1:22, features deep, haunting bass and cello, likely reflecting Solas’s plans and his determination to see them through. Lavellan’s reply clashes with this tune in an almost eerie mash of strings, reaching it’s height at 1:46 in raw emotion that swells and dips…
Only to fall back to the ticking clock at 2:09.
Violin solo. A gentle sound, beautiful and miserable and pleading. Lavellan’s urging is answered by the climax of the song at 2:37. Strong, harrowing strings accompany Solas and the Inquisitor in a final conversation (can you hear the instruments talking?) that is eventually swallowed by the heartbroken melody when the chorus hits its peak at 3:00. Now they are both singing along. The sadness has engulfed both parties and there is no conversation anymore, no rebuttal, only gut-wrenching music as they are forced apart by goal and duty. And after the climax fades, again comes the ticking of the clock at 3:25, along with a weepy cello and violin accompaniment that ends the song with a final tear as Solas leaves through the eluvian.
So what does it represent if your not a female elf?

Gosh I love this. I always thought that the way Solas speaks is very melodic. He is always so calm and his words sound so well chosen. I could listen to his stories about the fade forever. It feels like listening to a poem, really.
And this melody underlines his way of speaking, it's elegant, sounds sad and longing and I love it. This melody is Solas. Enough said.

Patrick Weekes, the man who wrote Solas's character, would listen to "Hallelujah" often when writing his scenes, so Solas speaks in Iambic Pentameter (a heartbeat rhythm) from time-to-time. You gain approval when replying in the same way. This just adds to the overall sadness of Solas's character...
The romance with solas seriously changes the entire story to be so much better its insane

I completely agree. I just finished my second play through and romanced Solas at was such a different experience from my first one where he and my character were just friends. It added so much depth.
Seriously. Friendship is so good but the romance just pushes it that bit further. There have been romances with characters who heavily impact the story (Morrigan and Anders) and they're so freaking impactful but they have nothing on Solavellan like ...jesus

Newovar inquisition was my first dragon age game and then I played origins. initially I didn't like inquisition and didn't play it till a year later, but boy.... What a fucken ride.
Just want to say, the idea of playing as a new character trained by the Inquisitor in DA4 would be amazing. Especially interesting if they make disbanding the Inquisition canon. Gives the Inquisitor a certain 'Big Boss' feel.

I didn't have the chance of playing Dragon Age, but this music have a great importance to me.
I'm playing d&d with a group of friend for more than a year now on the same campaign. I love these people, and DMing them is the joy of my week. Despite lockdown and every thing life could throw at us, we still managed to meet (online lately) and play for a few hours.
I have this spotify playlist from a random user that is superb for role playing, and it must be magic, because the tracks it gives me always sync perfectly with the situation.
And when one of druid finally meets her mother, or when the barbarian makes peace with his anger, or when after 3 days of fighting the party finally wakes up at sea knowing they did the right thing and survived, it's always this song.
When I hear it, I see in my head the landscapes and cities my friends and I created, the parties we did in make believe fantasy pubs, and the beautiful stories we share. We created a world all for ourselves, and it brings us closer in the real one.
I feel grateful for this beautiful piece, and for the moments I shared with my friend while it was playing. So thank you, Trevor Morris.

Bizarre Nimmeril Solas and the Inquisitor could never kill each other there love is to great.
In the End, Solas isn't a bad guy, he's just doing what is best for his people. Initially, he thought everyone was fake that everything was just an illusion we had no emotion or anything. Through your Friendship, he realizes that all of you are indeed alive, but he isn't deterred, he will regret the loss but he will do what he feels is needed, and he'll allow the survivors to join and his new elven society

I always play the same Lavellan (I saved his sliders lol) and make the same choices and always become friends with Solas, so I know what happens, but this part of the game always breaks my heart, and I always promise Solas that I'm going to save him from himself.
This piece is such a perfect fit to that, and I half wonder if the music influenced that decision in my very first play through. This score is absolutely beautiful.

Albert Ho Jowan can either be executed, sent back to the Circle or set free. If he’s set free then a new Chanter’s board quest will unlock and you can find him, you can then either let him go or kill him, his story is concluded afterwards. If you didn’t kill Anders, Varric explains to the Inquisitor that Anders stayed with the mage refugees for a while but had to leave due to the other mages blaming him for them being refugees and hating him for it, his current whereabouts are unknown.

Listening to this song I can only envision a dream sequence of Lavellan wandering around in a dream like forrest area unsure of where she is until she finds solas walking in a particular direction. She follows periodically calls out to him only for him to turn around once, and for her to reach out with her left arm (in the dream she still has her arm.) only for him to turn his back to her after giving her a sad look of longing and turning into a wolf as he walks away and her arm dissipates as he does. Then she falls to her knees.

i haven't played this game yet and I just randomly stumbled upon this piece of music. and it's just incredible, Trevor Morris at his finest
Bioware did an amazing job creating Solas, that's for sure. Such a strong and meaningful character. I personally never romanced him (or just not yet) because even with a F!Lavellan Inquisitor I tend to run into the arms of my Iron Bull... But at my first playthrough he was my best friend and the end of Trespasser made me miserable for days. Then I finished the game with a character that despised him and I was so upset even then. Hell, even now, just thinking about it makes me sad and furious at the same time. That's what I like about DA games, they always make me feel real emotions. Which is why I'll always prefer RPGs.
I feel like this song is the theme of the elves as a whole. They used to be on top of the world, then they lost everything (twice), and are now scattered and *lost* in a world that has since turned against them. They lost their culture and history, and they are now lost and wandering as they try to rebuild it.

I know this is Solas' theme and it played to great effect during the end of Trespasser, but this theme reminds me more of Dorian's exchange with Inquisitor when he finds out about the hand slowly killing him, absolutely heartbreaking.
I would love the sheet music for this, the entire score really.

This is an absolutely brilliant and beautiful piece of music, I adore it to bits 😍 To me, this is pretty much the theme for my elven inquisitor after the events of the game, trespasser dlc included. When you think about it, the elf inquisitor's story is very sad, especially if Solas is romanced. For example, what made my Inquisitor so sad in the end:
1. Her clan died, including all her friends and possible family. She had planned in the beginning to return home once this whole Inquisition business is over and done with, but now there is no home, no friends, no family anymore.
2. She finds out how little knowledge her and the rest of the dalish actually have of their culture and much of that is actually, false. Needless to say her faith was shaken.
3. the man she loved walked away from her without explaining much as to why he needed to go, even after he promised her that once they dealt with Corypheus, he'd explain himself. Then a whole two years goes by ( two years of confusion and heartbreak, I must add. When she fell in love with him, she hoped that she could stay and travel with him after everything is done, now that she isn't going back to Free Marches after all, that he'd show/teach her more of the fade and spirits, but then he is just gone. Without even properly saying goodbye.) until she finally reunites with him, only to find out that he is not the man she thought he was, but he is actually a god. And not just any god, he is the one she has been told ber whole life to stay away from, the one not to trust.
4. Said elven god who broke her heart just told her that he is going to kill everyone in order to bring back the old world of the elves. As a dalish ( and one very interested in history, lore, magic, spirits and the like) Lavellan kind of does emphatize with him, but knows she can't let him go on with his plans. After all, she is the Inquisitor, people look up to her for guidance and protection. Just as Solas needs to destroy Thedas for the good of his people, Lavellan has to stop him for the exact same reason. She tells him that she attemps to redeem him, show him a better way than killing everyone, but deep down she is not at all certain she can do it. She just hopes she can find some way, anything, than killing him, because even after everything she has learned of him, she still cares.
So yeah.. Lady Inquisitor Lavellan is indeed one lost, sad elf in the end :,(

May the Dread Wolf take you.” “And so he did.” 🥺😢😭 Sorry, but I’m not sorry, I want to help Solas return the world to what it was before and grant the Elven people their immortality and magic back. Thedas was originally their continent (at least the surface). I’m worried about the other old gods getting released & curious to see how things are when spirits & the living walk the same plane of existence.
Also, the "And now you know" line, the voice acting there is so extremely perfect. I've been put into eternal sorrow untill I can reunite my Lavellan with him 😭.

Do you remember that one hyping theme when you traveled to skyhold? You become so emotionaly invested in this world and in its characters! Start to understand their motivations! What keeps them going... And then after 200 hours of living in this world the story ends with one of the saddest videogame betrayals ever.
