A handsome little chair and, as always, a very enjoyable vid. Thanks Dimitris! And I know what you mean; I've made and repaired a few chairs over the years and they always have unexpected difficulties. Oh well, that's how we learn, of course!
Thanks Mark. Indeed I believe chairs are a special category in furniture making! Really interesting!
Thanks, Dimitri! Good project, useful tips. I liked the alternatives to power tools.

Awesome . Thank you
Lovely job buddy, nice one :)
thank you
GooD)))))))
thank you
Great chair. Why did you screw the back rest in place instead of using dowels?
Thank you. Actually I shouldn't! I would use dowels instead next time! It was a last moments decision proved not that good!
excellent work! One question, how does the orange mini wood planer you use work? retains the edge? Thank you!
Yes it works great for a 5 euro plane. I have it for ages! I a haven't replaced the iron yet!
Good job, mate. 👍
Looks like it's built to last. 👌
Did you make this on the fly, no plans?
Thank you Bill. No plans, just the basic idea in my mind!
@@ScrapwoodCity sweet, I find it hard to draw up plans too, just easier to make it on the fly.
Sometimes I might do a quick sketch of something, only so I don't forget the idea I had.
Love your work mate. 👍
It seems that it is necesary twear a respirator mask to use a handsaw! (5:42). ;-)
Aside this joke I would like congratulate you for a nice video and your efforts to show several techniques to do the same task. I am also a fan of dowels and sometimes frustated by the need for great precision. I see that you drill freehand with no jig to ensure squareness and have no problem to get a fit, even with some holes drifting a bit. Do you have any tricks to get this?
I also see that you speed drying when painting with a heat gun. How much can you shorten drying? Any problem with cracks in the painting doing this way?
Thanks.
Thanks for the nice words. I have a jig for the dowels but I don't use it. I try to check that my drill bit is straight from 2 points of view. The heat gun really helps, I think it dries 3 times faster. No problem with cracks unless you really heat at one place for long time!
Οντως έγινε πάρα πολύ όμορφη και παρόλο που προτιμώ το χρώμα το ξύλου μου άρεσε αυτή η αντίθεση . Επίσης θα ήθελα να ρωτήσω επειδή την έβαψες με πλαστικό χρώμα δεν θα έπρεπε να την περάσεις βελατούρα πρώτα ή δεν χρειάζεται ;
What are the inserts you use to line up your dowel holes and where did you get them
Dowel center pins. Link in the description!

That red stuff near the sander at 2:55, that's paint, right?
Lol, it's actually red stain!
It´s great! But I miss the musical instruments you made.
Thank you. Hopefully I will make again!
