"They didn't pay me,but sent me this $750 lift for free" lol
Had mine for 2 years, possibly the best stand out there. When you learn how to use it correctly it will serve you better
I have had a standard Abba stand for several bikes and when the adapter didn't fit on one side they just sent out another with no hesitation... awesome product, top class customer support, fantastic company.
you should have emailed them about the fitment issue, they might have sent you another stand with a bike attached to it! lol
Excellent job. I service shocks and forks where the wheels need to be off of the ground to get them off of the bike. Looks like a perfect solution. Also, as a side note, over tightening is the bane of my existence as a shock tech.
Hi Chase, I used a big C style bolt in stead of the straps. you can bolt it tighter or looser in order to level the bike perfectly. Once you have it right, weld the nut shut and write the bike name on it. Do this for every bike and you'll have a set of solid clamps to keep every bike 100% horizontal
Yeah i can guarantee if i broke that piece they would not replace it free of charge.
BenMoto exactly.
They are soooooo nice. They would do this to everyyyyyonnee.... right?
Aliens watch us silly humans fumbling and bumbling through life, the same way we watch Chase fumbling and bumbling anything that requires a wrench lol
Thanks abba for bringing Chase and his bikes to new heights!
Also would like to add that with the "color" coordinating components during assembly... ABBA was far cooler than you originally thought... I am colorblind. They used colors that a colorblind person can easily work with and distinguish between... VERY RARE, most companies don't even have colorblind people on their radar let alone be in consideration of....
They literally just gained another customer because of it and I thank YOU for having the vid to show it.
Some people are just not meant to wrench
I have the Abba superbike stand which comes with the same strap, it's rated at 650kg. It isn't 'not strong enough' you're just incapable of using a basic piece of equipment.
I met these guys at the Carole Nash Motorcycle show, this last weekend,so so helpful, they know there product inside out, I have a BMW GSA triple black and approached them asking if it would pick up my beast, no problem sir, the guy showed me an example of one in their brochure, he then spun round and leapt on the demo stand at full height clambering all over the bike. Very impressed with the stand, as soon as the bank manager (wife) allows the funds I’ll be on the phone. Great video too.
There'll be a bobbin in the Tech kit that replaces the paddock stand bobbin on the left side of the swingarm. This is what the strap wraps around to keep the bike horizontal. Also, wrap the strap around twice. Also, the rear can be raised if you don't use the strap and the front can be raised if you strap the bobbin to the leg of the stand instead of the red bar. It's a great stand but just looks too time consuming to set up.
and a British brand too! I have heard of these stands , my mate has one. Obviously well worth the money!
Matt Rowe these are built a few miles from my house. I’ve got one for my Ducati, never touching a paddock stand again!
Where's that then dude?
Matt Rowe South Woodham Ferrers, Essex
i was looking at getting one before this video came out, btw you dont get all the fittings for every bike when you buy it you only get one. They must really like chase
Of course he got everything, it's a sponsored video.
I remember suggesting in WBR discord a while ago that you should review this lift but don't know if that comment or someone else's was the one that prompted you to do it. Regardless, this review makes it easier to justify saving for one of these for my garage and with riding season here again I could certainly use one now. Thank you!
I bought one of these lifts for my Honda ST1300 three years ago.....its absolutely awesome and my ST1300 ways a ton. I can wheel the whole bike around my garage at chest height all winter and sit down comfortably to work on it at chest height. The caster wheels can also be locked. But my advise is to go on line and watch the video about how to fasten the rated safety strap which they supply with the whole kit. The whole motorbike can then be easily and safely lifted all at once or if you want it in a wheelie position. It works perfectly and has an additional failsafe slide fastener so that its 100% safe. I wouldnt risk improvising on safety like this guy did and risking it with any old piece of strap you can find. Use the rated one supplied with the extra safety mechanism and be safe.
Finally an American channel that tries and abba stand. I've got the standard one with the front wheel lift and it's brilliant.
Can you convince them to send one my way? 🧐
Lemme tell you something: I've watched heaps of guys doing motorcycle reviews, but you're the only one that doesn't sound like an idiot. I've been watching your videos over the years, and every time I watch someone else’s, my head automatically says ''nah, Chase is more self confident, use better words and knows what he's doing''. Keep it up, you do a great job man.
I’m going to have to get me one of these! I just recently got back on 2wheels after more than 25 years off. I am a huge fan of yours and your first fit series and new equipment videos such as this! You know I always try to leave you encouraging comments and positive thoughts on all your videos, and this one is no exception! Thank you for being such a great person to whom all of us riders can look up too and aspire to emulate your example. God bless you in all your endeavors. Much love to you and the beautiful MRS C2W! Love ya brother. #outrocrew
Almost 30 for me with the exception of having a maxiscooter for 2 yrs back in 08. But it was a CVT so no clutch practice and having sport bikes I have to get used to the top heavy issue. I'm 5'5" and 140lbs and 56 now so it's a bit more challenging but getting there.
Good to see you heard me and bought a stand to lift the whole bike :D
Make it a trend! Unbox some rocks every Wrecked Bike Rebuild episode O.O
Thanks Chase, good to see the process from unboxed to suspended motorcycle, warts and all. You did well.
Chase have I ever told you I love you? "Now the bike is horizontal" ITS VERTICAL YOU GOOF!
YummiR6 what RU talking about. The bike stayed horizontal the entire time.
This is crazy, but Chase is actually right. . . The position of the bike stayed horizontal. If it were vertical, that would mean the bike rotated. Vertical and horizontal in this instance are directions, not locations on an axis.
it was actually upside down all along were just fooled by illusion of normality
whens the next adventure vlogs coming out Yummi and Chase??
YummiR6 nope that’s horizontal.
i have one these for my VFR and i wish I got the Eazyrizer instead. Check them out I think its a better option. The old style handpump jack takes too long for me and being an older guy i like the idea of using a hand drill much better
Quality products from ABBA , Nice to know the group are doing good things after not singing anymore.
I’ve just bought one and I like the way you fitted the strap. This will help me when I want to drop the rear shock out. Great piece of kit great vid 👍
I ordered 1 yesterday, so glad I didn’t watch your video 1st 😂😂 I watched the ABBA stand videos on assembly and use
Not to take anything away from the company. You got a product from a company free of charge to review and customer service was great. Either your naive or you think your viewers are. You can't consider yourself like viewers who don't have a channel to hurt product sales.
Offfffff course they're bending over backwards for you. SMH
Cool lift though.
i totally agree and was going to write the same before i saw your comment. ^^
Watch the video dude. He bought it, it wasn't given to him, they only gave him the set for all bikes.
No the stand was given to him aswell he didnt pay (3:27).
Which, dont get me wrong, is fine its promotion thats how it works.
James Cattanach You might want to watch the video again. Even if he did pay for it, he's reviewing on his channel with tons of views. He'd still get great customer service. They cant afford to look bad as a growing business.
Srbog1 Yeah, I totally misheard that the first time round, I do, however, think that he got above and beyond customer service
you FINALLY got the skylift xD I remember i tagged you in a post on instagram but don't think you ever saw it.
Abba stands are awesome, but you did make it look hard work :-)
This guy seems like a complete mechanical dope.
Exactly. When a guy like this starts to recommend a tool because he got it for free, I'm not convinced. Especially if most of the usage is sketchy as anything.
I dunno, it's how I would go on with it as well, it's more a reality check for us mere mortals!
I've been thinking about making something similar but using a off-road high lift jack, sometimes called a farm jack....instead of the hydraulic ram
Sweet lift. Glad it didn't drop that gorgeous bike haha. You've grown a lot man. Glad to see how far you've come!
literally breath taking.
But.. what does Brain think of it?
That’s one big rock
You should get the basic Abba Superbike stand that gets the rear wheel off the ground, it’s better than a paddock stand as the suspension and swing arm are unloaded for servicing… it’s cheap and another useful item… can be used on your bike ramp as well 👍
Check the alignment of that rear on that Triumph. It sounded out of line to me. Hopefully you don't trust the alignment marks on the Swingarm. Use only two 6' straight edges clamped to either side of the rear wheel, and adjust into your chain is desired tension and then check that the front wheel is equidistant bergen the straight edges.
Best regards,
Eddie
You need to watch their video on lifting the bike. You use their strap and go from their spool to your spool and tighten. Works perfect.
Luv your set up, man!!
Congratulations on 800k Chase
New term learned today. Chase proofing my garage on the new house, lol!!!!
I don't know what it is, but it looks kinda sketchy lol
its an Abba Skylift incase you were wondering
Likewise, but I looked it up, and there are no straps involved on their website, and it looks quite a bit less sketchy without them.
Double Deal Its not. Its made in England. idiot
I think as abba makes a solid product. But personally I plan on eventually going with a bursig.. quicker set up. Exchange plates for free. I don't need my bike up that high. Etc. But I definitely see how abba would be a solid choice for a lot of people and excellent customer service
its a great stand. but as the bike sits on there now. you cant touch your rear sets or anything on the sides. possibly remove the fairing also.
I seen these in the motorbike show and they were amazing. The guy jacked the bike right up and got up on the bike to show how stable they are. I tried to buy 1 but at £400 here in the uk for a UK product. Too much money. If they want to send me 1 to try for free I'm sure I could make room in my garage for it! 😉
Came across this lift a while back, and it is maybe a thing i would get someday.
Just have to make sure i have the money for it, since there not so cheap. But since this lift does multiple things and can be used for several things. I can see it would be worth it
Perfect after watching your review I’m definitely getting one thanks
That's excellent customer service to prove they back up there products one hundred percent.
SithLord 69 lol
My Only "complaint" (though i'm not really complaining). I would put a locking mechanism on the blocking rod 17:30 just so it isn't knocked out before you lower it or that it isn't all the way through. It's just a small thiung, but it's the only improvement i can think of.
I'm going to buy one of them now thanks for sharing chase
i will nv use this lift for doing any complicated bike work...... it shaking when u move it, imagine trying to torque something down LOL... for deco maybe LOL
The red arm part seems sketchy as hell
Checks the price....leaves the video.
Jk I’m still here.
It is expensive there's no doubt. But as the old adage goes, you get what you pay for (most of the time)
TJ agreed. I’ll stick with a pit bull for now.
Definitely pricey ..probably figure out something alot cheaper!
Chase keep using the lift for WBR, the Abba one might be good for minor adjustments, my personal opinion is that the bike lifted on the Abba looks a little sketchy.
Daytona 500? That was my first bike in 1973. Was a 72 Daytona 500. Best handling bike I've ridden. Took to the end of the video to notice. Didn't look even close to the old model.
Another quality Chase product. Great Job!
Ah I meant to say, I watched the guys put the bike on the stand I think very closely, I recon you should have a bobbin on your swing arm that the strap is then attached to, secured with a secondary buckle , I only mention this as I would have thought wrapping the strap around the passenger footrest bracket could be dangerous. Work safe mate.
Both would be optimal but for general maintainance the ABBA skylift would be my choice.
Looks neat, but i would take a traditional lift. Its nice that they have amazing customer service. I wish more companies were like that and cared about their customers. It does seem quality and all but it doesn't seem as stable as a traditional lift for really wrenching on things. Also i wouldn't roll the bike around at the max height. You want the center of gravity as low as possible for stability.
It still looks like you have not strapped it correctly cause I thought you used a short strap at the back ( the one with two loops ) around your swing arm spool and to the lift . I might be wrong as never used but I wait to see your other films using it cause I do know it will go horizontal , front end up or back wheel up for taking them out . funny watching you brake it and being sent the full ram again . I think you should ask them to come and check it and maybe show you how to use it correctly lol
So, are you still using it in current year? Are you still happy with it? Can you still recommend it?
Looks cool, but needing that back strap to get the front wheel off the ground is sort of a deal breaker for me. I’d have that thing up on the lift all night and all I’d worry about is that strap breaking. Imagine the strap breaking at the height he had it at. I wonder if the stand would fall over after the front wheel swings down
I've got the ABBA superbike stand and it's super useful.
Personally I like the ABBA Superbike Pack 3 over the sky lift. Less bulk, still lifts my bike off the ground for wheel changes, and less height (aka fall over potential)
Ok if you don’t have a garage and a rough 30 year old asphalt driveway would you still pick this as your first way to lift your bike?
Looks like a great product, Chase did you check out their site and watch the video on it shows how to secure the rear strap with a second strap for safety
Hands down, I want only the Sky-Lift.
the skylift is awesome. but ill want that lift of wbr. my levitation needs are covered by used of a ceiling and rachet straps.
I do like the versatility of that stand but not having to maneuver around the arms bolted to the bike. Let’s give it some test runs and go from there.
I wish this would work for cruisers. I would buy one today
I have just subscribed solely for entertainment value!! Keep up the good work
Man you got So many bikes
I wud kind of be worried leaving the bike overnight my rear stand bent for no reason and all i did was lift it 1nce every 2 weeks
The scary music should have been Dancing Queen.lol
I'd still prefer the regular lift but I would still buy the Abba lift due to your review
You can take off the swingarm easier with the Abba than other lifts. I’m saving up for one
this stand is alot more stable than chase makes it look. go to lambchop reviews on the abba stand. he lifts the bike to the max and is super stable. and he shows you the 3 different ways the bike can be lifted. goes more in depth
Is this good for a Hayabusa? Looks ace!
Would you say this was better than using a ramp? I'm trying to decide whether to get the abba skylift or a proper hydraulic ramp. Obviously the abba let's you work on the front end
What if you need the entire bike lifted and need to work on the center/middle components? Seems like that bike lift is in the way of all of that.
How much you want for the Brozak helmet
It’s is a coincidence that sales of this lift plummeted as soon as this video went up?? 🤔
What's the white and red Yamaha off to the side . That's a real nice looking bike .
Companies should start putting a label on their products that says "Chase proof" when something is super simple to put together lol
How much are they? And where can I buy one in the USA?
@5.09 = immediate like. Loving your vids man. Keep it up!
the lift is still better as it gives you more access to a lot of things, especially the left side of the bike.
It looks awesome but are you sure is is that solid? At the minute 20:16 the attachment looks a bit unstable….
I like how high it goes up, im sold
I saw several comments about it being sturdy, and having to torque something. Take a look at their 'demonstration' video.. the guy climbs up on the stand, climbs over the bike and down the other side! Holy shit! Its sturdy! And no, I do not work for them :)
So much room for activities lmao
Just a couple of things with this video:
1. Horizontal = side to side
2. *Vertical* = up and down
You know I just subscribed not too long ago and I like your content but seriously bro you need to think a little bit when your talking about how good a company is. Of course they are going treat you perfect, they know you are talking to 100,000s of people. You are their investment in marketing. They will not handle regular customers like that. Hopefully your viewers know this though.
What happened to the adventure series? I was excited to see what happened after buying the new bikes
That's a cool lift, but I would rather have the platform lift for the tool space. I also feel like I would have to break everything loose before I use the aerial lift because I wouldn't be able to get leverage. Think back to how you tried to get the chain off on the ZX10.
What kind of table is that over your tool box?
21 minute video. 19 minutes fucking around with it. 30 seconds on operation. 1 minute "review". 30 second outro. Very useful.
Bad ass helmets. Where you get the helmet stands
