SUCH A BRILLIANT DRAMA! This is one of the rarest Cdramas I would truly recommend because of its perfect casting, storyline, music, locations, well written script and phenomenal production! I actually thought I would give up on the first episodes but I was blown away when it got me hooked by its engaging storyline. To my surprise, I never even missed one episode and even learned about historical wars until the end. It was truly well-written. They broke the common boring Cdrama storylines and took their acting to another level. I truly applaud the creators of this drama for bringing us two very smart leads. They all deserve a round of applause 👏👏👏

I hope he will be given more works in the near future because it is satisfying to watch him act, cause he delivers- he makes the job done more than it requires. he is probably the best actor during his era (now). This drama did not disappoint at all! Republican Era dramas have always been one of my fav genres but this drama is just on another level. I love how in sync Wanqing and Xuanlin are. Yeah they're lovers but they make a great team as well. I'm glad we got to see them happy together even though the war is still going on. The bond that the Tan Army has is so special...they are a family above anything else. I cried so bad watching them give their all in that battle. I really can't accept Tan Si dying 😭 he was the best friend and brother to Xuanlin.

Did not expect this drama to be as good as it was. ❤ A lot of lovable characters and then there are the not so lovable ones, which means the actors did their job well. Loved Chen Xing Xu from Goodbye My Princess in which he portrayed his character Li Cheng Yin/Gu Xiao Wu so compellingly and absolutely adored him here as Commander Tan Xuan Lin. Looking forward to where his career takes him. He is definitely an actor I am rooting for. This is also my first drama seeing the female lead. I will also be on the look out for her future drama. Lin Yanjun was an absolute dream as Xu Guang Yao. Hope to see him as a main lead in future dramas.
