Only in the middle of the episode, but wanted to comment that the supermarket scene where they eat together is so good. Sadness and hopelessness mixed with immense platonic love. Both of them having to meet with the fact that in that very moment happiness is so far away from them is simply heart breaking.
I never thought that I could be emotional from this episode. My dad also died from pancreatic cancer; years later, my mom succumbed to cancer. I was there during their last days and remembering the emotional roller coaster makes my heart hurt.
You never know how fast things can escalate in life. We never understand what 'Live in the moment' really means unless something unfortunate happens. Aristotle's meaning of Happiness is so true!! This episode really hits !!
You put your emphasis on “experiencing-as-much-as-possible”, that's all right, of course... but what do you have in your hands when you die? What is it that you take with you from this life? What is it that fades away?
The first episode broke my heart, I cried so much. I lost my best friend to a heart attack when we were both thirty, I truly understand her feeling devastated after losing her best friend.
I feel her pain of losing her best friend 💔😭 But no pain can compare to losing a child; nothing can make a grieving mother happy again. You can replace a partner or a friend, and losing parents is horrible but understand that parents are supposed to go before children; we can grieve, times can heal, and life moves on. But when you lose your child, your life stops at that moment with an empty hole in your heart, and a dash of a grieving mother is like looking at the moon without the stars. The pain and the tears will never end; it was getting worsened by each day for the rest of your life; you have no shame in crying; you cry at any time and place without reason; you can’t replace a lost child because every child has their unit special place in a mother’s heart.💔💔😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Great story without the overly dramatic scenes/events, villains or characters. It’s showing the simplicity of village life & the people. Slow & yet meaningful. Amazing casts & characters too. Just felt that Hong Dou could’ve shown more emotions & expressions especially being the expert in the service industry. She’s portrayed as kind & friendly but she delivers it with flat face/smile. Overall, very heartwarming to watch.
Thats probably the point of her character, she does her job as a means to reach milestones and happiness in her life, but does not have the passion for it. The way she still has expired food in her refrigerator and don't even realize it, shows you that she lives meaningless day by day eventhough she pursues happiness.
Watching for the second time. It makes feel the want of that village life. Escaping from crowded world. Goto a place where no one knows and care you. What a freedom 🥺
I’m used to watching wu qian(Janice wu) as the main lead. She has such a big heart to throw her self down and take the support lead for my Mulan Queen. Hopefully she gets more recognition and stars with star actors. Would love her and Xu Kai to team up.
I’m on episode 8 and very much in love with every aspect of this show. Showing realistic issues of family and life and what is truly important. Great character development and story line.💕
My best friend and later sister in law (I married her brother) died of pancreatic cancer aged 47. I went with her to a lot of the appointments. The emotions portrayed here are very realistic and moving.
i cry half of this episode, I feel her, I lost my best friends too, two of them in different time, and its difficult to me. One of them (the one I spent all my youth with), died two years ago. in a year since she left, I often dreams of her and feel that she's alive, in my dreams I always surprise to see her, I always ask anyone in my dreams that she's alive, right? and slowly i accept the reality that she' gone.
Same. I was prepared for it (seen the preview) and yet I cried like a baby. It's so sad and emotional. I can't believe I was so attached to a character I don't even know that well. LYF's acting is phenomenal. 👏
I already finished watching the whole 40 episodes and I'm here to watch it all over again😊😊😊.. This series is I think one of a kind..so calming and relaxing.. The setting (Yunnan) is such a beautiful place, the characters are all amazing esp Li Xian and Liu Yifei.. These two have an awesome chemistry, they really look good together.. To the writers, directors and all other crew members, you guys did an excellent job👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
What a deep first episode to begin this series. The writer and director must have pit a lot of thought into this. Laudable. Though not sure i want to experience all of this emotions right now, but would definitely return to watch the full series!
PS: I want to live a beautiful and colourful life! What a reminder to keep at it!! Work is not all there is. Especially when the work is not even glorious.
Came back to say I just finished the 40 episode series this weekend. Didn't wait like I said cos the end of this first episode fueled optimism in the lead character. It wasn't a sad movie. It was a masterpiece. I totally enjoyed it. It depicted rest and living. Thank you ❤
On episode 2 and it's AMAZING so far. By far one of the best chinese dramas ever. Love the female lead Liu Yifei. She is so good in this. Very beautiful and natural beauty. Someone I would love to meet and just chat and have dim sum with in another world another reality. The cinematics, music, pace reminds me a lot of older animes... Love some of the quirky characters I am introduced to and can't wait to know them more. Love all those small details. Love the pacing so far. I hope it ends up as good as it started. So far AMAZING job by team.
I stopped at episode 21... Part of me just does not want to finish it and hope to come back to this world in 5 years and finish it then. I feel I am not ready to finish this yet.

這是一部難得的好戲，述說著每個人一生經歷的各個階段，童年的天真無憂， 年輕的迷茫衝動，中年的成熟與擔負責任的勇氣，不同老年的晚境，這是一部只要有 【心】的朋友，一定喜歡和感歎的一部值得看的戲。希望將來有更多這類好的戲劇。
今天已经播放到24集了，网上就能看到
都演的很自然，没有刻意去煽情，节奏也很紧凑，颜值都很自然，特别刘亦菲的脸和身材看着很舒服，穿着也很简单，很生活化，没有十级美颜磨皮，工薪阶层人设也没有大浓妆，香车，豪宅 名牌的装备，也没有富二代备胎追的狗血标配，比较接地气，至少第一集看起了不错👍

本来这部剧是带着轻松的心情去看的，可每当看到这里看得我眼泪不停的流，我最爱的妈妈也是去年查出胰头部位胰腺癌晚期，最后的日子里一直陪伴在她身边日夜照顾着她，仅仅三个月后就永远离开了我们。我好想我妈妈心中一直难以放下。

Same. I was prepared for it (seen the preview) and yet I cried like a baby. It's so sad and emotional. I can't believe I was so attached to a character I don't even know that well. LYF's acting is phenomenal. 👏
I already finished watching the whole 40 episodes and I'm here to watch it all over again😊😊😊.. This series is I think one of a kind..so calming and relaxing.. The setting (Yunnan) is such a beautiful place, the characters are all amazing esp Li Xian and Liu Yifei.. These two have an awesome chemistry, they really look good together.. To the writers, directors and all other crew members, you guys did an excellent job👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️

What a deep first episode to begin this series. The writer and director must have pit a lot of thought into this. Laudable. Though not sure i want to experience all of this emotions right now, but would definitely return to watch the full series!

Came back to say I just finished the 40 episode series this weekend. Didn't wait like I said cos the end of this first episode fueled optimism in the lead character. It wasn't a sad movie. It was a masterpiece. I totally enjoyed it. It depicted rest and living. Thank you ❤

On episode 2 and it's AMAZING so far. By far one of the best chinese dramas ever.
Love the female lead Liu Yifei. She is so good in this. Very beautiful and natural beauty. Someone I would love to meet and just chat and have dim sum with in another world another reality.
The cinematics, music, pace reminds me a lot of older animes...
Love some of the quirky characters I am introduced to and can't wait to know them more. Love all those small details.
