If you watched this video and think that placeable junk items is something Bethesda should implement into CAMP building, I created a post in the Bethesda discord (discord.gg/bethesdastudios), in the #76-suggestions channel. Please go react to the message and share your thoughts! We got them to overturn their blueprint patch by making some noise! Let's make sure they hear us on this topic as well!
(but also don't hold your breath!)
Oh hell yes, I'm on it.
Done x
Oh hell yeah! As an avid camp builder and rebuilder, I’m all for this!!! Count me in! Lol!
I couldn't find it on Discord.
@@mehtarelingolien neither :(
Bethesda: "You can build your own CAMP!" _Cannot place item: Intersects with an existing object_ "No, no, not like that! No fun allowed!"
Haha that’s what their errors actually say. “Cannot place item. No fun allowed”
This object is floating.
Item cannot be removed ffs
Outside camp boundary 😂 when you drop merge stuff
The f'n error messages should just say "Todd Howard does not approve of this"
I've sent a suggestion to Bethesda before asking them to make a display case that is just a sticky dot that you can put on any surface. That way you could place junk anywhere in your CAMP without other players being able to steal it.
they could design these as a tablecloth or a deco-tablett on that we can place such things
@@seekhell5467 They would rather sell ready-made tables for atoms -_-
@@ashychild like the thanksgiving one they already sell ? yeah
Exceptional idea.
I bet they sent your suggestion to the junk email box. They don't want to hear from people with good ideas since they like to pull all their ideas out of the bad ideas hat.
They need to just have a junk category in the building menu that literally has every single piece of junk in the game. Maybe we can learn the plans to junk items when scrapping like weapon mods. Or just have all of them automatically unlocked for everyone and make them require the actual piece you wanna place. Idk, there’s lots they can do with this game but they always do the bare minimum to keep ppl happy so they can keep their atomic shop going.
That would be the obvious solution... Which is why we're never going to have it.
Or just have reskins for the display cases, so you could have a display case that looks like a kitchen table, or a bar, or a set of shelves. Surely that wouldn't take much effort.
Great ideias!
In fallout 4 I'd spend to long setting up the junk items around camp and even though half of them were knocked over by the settlers when I came back, I was still happier than not being able to put down any junk. Even adding junk plans would be pretty cool and give people something to grind workshops for... They're already created, I can't see it being to hard to make them placeable items
yeah, exactly. It's easy to see how popular fallout 4 junk mods are, im not sure how they don't know how much we want it
Beside a mod made it possible for make items static and have no physics, so no matter how the item couldnt be knocked out. If modders can do this bethesda should be able too...
Same
Yup. I remember doing this in fallout 4 too.. it’s just like how RDR2 NEVER added the undead nightmare expansion.. even though they hinted at it MULTIPLE times after months and eventually a couple years of 99% of players posting about wanting it and they knew that because it was everyone’s FAVORITE PART of RD1.. for cryin out loud it was one of THEE TOP SELLING EXPANSIONS EVER.. but they just led us on and then gave us a big old F U when they put that little Halloween BS with the NOT ZOMBIE zombies in a damn mini game for 3 damn days and acted like they did something so great.. these developers REALLY don’t give two shits about what the gamers want anymore. Like AT ALL they just want you to spend more money in their dumb shops that usually dont even have good stuff in them anyway.. they truly hate us! And to add insult to injury they want to milk us for EXTRA money after putting BARE MINIMUM effort into these games. Cookie cutter bs again and again. When will we learn to stop giving them our money when they just continue to flip us the bird over and over..
Don't know if you've played in awhile - but they're releasing junk as placeable items as apart of the scoreboard. As an example taken from this video, there is now a placeable type writer both new and old.
For what it's worth, I'm truly sorry. Those looked amazing, and it was heartbreaking to see your hard work undone by such user-unfriendly game design. How hard can it be for them to understand that players want their characters to exist in the game world naturally - which means, especially after the horror of an atomic apocalypse, that people may not care if their books and kitchen appliances are perfectly straight anymore.
I remember when they first announced the (at the time seemingly great) news that we would soon be able to place junk items in our camp. Some poor fellow got cheered on Reddit by a community manager after they suggested that they wanted to collect piles of pre-war money and dump them in a bathtub. It was a fun idea. We had no idea that the reality would be sticking only four perfectly-placed items in a glass case, like we're Howard Hughes or something. I feel sorry for that fellow because their idea was great. Even now I think they were sold a line of hooey.
It would be cool if there was a way to tag junk items as floor decor that would then be put in your stored section of your camp. When needed they can be placed anywhere.
I don't understand why they can't just add in game junk items to the floor decor category in the build menu. I don't code but surely it doesn't take much to modify the existing item files!?
@@mikeycampbell6869 that would pretty great too. They've done stuff like the filing cabinet. Hopefully they get around to doing a junk pack also.
@@mikeycampbell6869 honestly they should contact the mod makers of fallout 4 that made decor mods for stuff like this
@@pixelman6193 I don't think the Fallout devs need help from mod makers. If they wanted to do this stuff they would but for some reason they have their reasons not to do it. I would say their focus with Fallout 76 is to get as many people possible paying for Fallout 1st memberships.
I would love that
Damn man. Seeing all that stuff...it breaks my heart. At least they gave us a wooden Thanksgiving cabinet that one time. Seriously this is the stuff they should be working on. Base building is 90% of what I do. Playing the game takes up about 10%.
This video broke my heart, even though you warned me. Your implementations looked so dang cool. I came to FO76 after getting a little too obsessed with my Fallout4 settlements, where we CAN place junk in the world. I think a “junk mat” would be a perfect solution-an invisible case with placement slots.
Your point about scavenging is also spot on. That’s why I play these games-to explore and indulge my inner scavver. I think that’s true for a lot of us, and we don’t get enough live.
Also, I subscribed because even though this didn’t work-and I solute your dedication to process- you’re funny as hell. Thanks for making me smile.
This video was an absolute roller coaster of emotion bro… but incredible work man, I appreciate all the hard work people like yourself put in to this game.
Thank you! 😌
Mate that would have been a game changer! You made me so happy learning this then shattered it all at the end cheers…… Hopefully one day Bethesda might actually listen to us & give us what we want. We can all hope & dream..
Haha you are not alone in your pain!
^^^this dude's camps KICK ASS^^^
Players: placeable junk plz.
Bethesda: skelscream pa?
Players: let us be able to place junk items!
Bethesda: anubis outfit?
ah yes my roleplay character story in fallen earth, bare-handed wolf hunting redneck anubis worshipper riding a chopper
this is pretty incredible. I hope you or someone else can figure out how to make that permanent because thats a revolution in camp design.
That’s my hopes! Thank you!
@@misterchurch666 I'm in the lab with you friend. There has to be a way.
No it’s not incredible! It’s tragic! that you have to go through all this trouble just to put some junk items on a table. They should fucking fix the game already!
I don't play fallout but honestly I love watching your videos because we have the same nihilistic sense of humour and it's comforting
haha thank you! its nice to hear you enjoy my content when you don't even play the game!
I just got into glitch builds and your series are a God send. Thanks for always going back over to describe every glitch you use, even if it's an old one.
Really love the desk, I'm all about a home office. The garage-ish space came out really awesome too! This is exactly how I thought junk should be placed. Way back in the beta days, I started a coffee cup collection thinking I could place them on a camp shelf. NOPE. Why does the junk item say "souvenir coffee cup" if I can't display it?
Exactly! Thank you :)
I made a pitch for display plates half a year ago that would act as single item display cases. I tried something similar to what you're showing with the power armor display so I could have a T51 stood tall in my garage, only to cry after the entity reset when I leave the server. It's heart breaking that we haven't gotten this yet
I know :( they actually had those power armor displays in the PTS so we could set them around wherever we wanted and removed them instead of fixing them xD
Man is about to be ecstatic that the toaster and typewriter are items now lol
This is the closest I've seen anyone get to having placeable junk. I've got time to kill so im going to get my booty on the PS4 and test out some ideas on how to keep the displays visible. Ill defo keep in touch. Good job 👍
Sweet dude!
Wow this looks amazing! I really hope you can find a way to keep this persistent when the camp reloads. I really wish Bethesda would listen and give us the ability to place junk in our camps. A new display case like you suggested would work perfectly and would add so much lore friendly realism to our builds. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this and for sharing it with the community.
Take care,
GreedyNewt
Thanks Greedy! I hope they listen to the community but we gotta keep pestering them for that to happen!
Absolutely fantastic tutorial, even better commentary. Seriously though, there are amazing junk items that we could be grinding for, couldn't have said it better.
Thank you so much! 😅
the problem is that a displlay dosent store the position of an item, nor does the game, the diplay has so called nodes and the game only tells the display on what node wich item has to spawn or better wich item dummy has to spawn an wich node
however your idea of a flat invisible diplay case is something that needs to be forwarded to the developers because as you correclty said this is something easy to implement without any additional server load, it would only be a reskin, and we know how much beth loves reskins
Dude your cutting humor is just my cup of tea! Subbed! And Bethesda should be ashamed of themselves for many of their decisions with FO76. This is probably the #1 on that list.
Even though it didn't work out it was still great to see what's possible if Bethesda got there heads out of their asses. You're still a genius Church. I'm going to tell everyone I know to fwd this video to Bethesda. Hopefully people will share this and maybe something will get done. 🤞
Thank you so much! I hope we will be heard eventually
I totally agree on this man, I really hope they bring in being able to just place all of this junk around your camp would honestly add more life to the place you call home (side note as well, not only be able too place it down but once you do, it should leave the storage box or scrap box as well so it won't count to weight to your storage box, especially for players like me that don't have fallout 1st)
Please just never change, you’re hilarious. I always laugh at least ten or so times whenever I watch your videos
You never explained how you stacked the display cases! Cause I see your using a blueprint! When I put display on top of other it does not let me! Please explain thank you 😊
N0oo 😭😭😭 my ADHD cannot wait that long lol
I so agree with you 😅
@@zanyana5268 bicycle!
Bethesda instructions unclear: Now in the atom shop a colonial museum building set!
We are supposed to spend money in the Atomic Shop. The Junk items would be a nice addition. I can see your frustration. Fallout 76 is just full of Players feeling the same way. Good video, I watched it all.
Thank you for taking the time to make this ♥️
oh man thats such a stark difference at the end there.
i actually went around on a few channels a couple years ago talking about invisible mat display items because it seems like such a simple answer to the lack of junk problem.
ive been hoarding my vault tec supply crates for if someone works out how to display junk because they would look so good in a vault.
The main reason why they don't let us place junk on tables like in fallout 4 is because of the lag aspect that a bunch of dynamic items in the game that a player could place would have , but, I don't see the reason why they wouldn't give us a new category in the build menu called "Junk items" that would let you place down a static non-moving version of that junk item just like a floor decoration.
They also wouldn’t be able to keep those items from server to server, plus other players could loot them. I get all that. But a redesign of the existing display cases would allow us to have infinite options for clutter without the other problems
@@misterchurch666 I have said this in other places in the past before but just giving us a "Junk" section in the menu that has static buildable items off all the junk items in the game would be the best solution for this problem, you just need that junk item in your inventory and then you can just place it down as a static building item anywhere in your camp.
Thank you!! Now I need to try it
This is awesome thank you for making a perfect guy I've always wondering how to do this now I know I appreciate everything you do for the public who plays Fallout 76
I truley wish the devs could see the before and after pics together.. it was absolutely horrible..
When you added all the "junk" on all the mini builds.. they were literally alive, felt lived in.. exactly how it should be, especially in a apocalyptic world. Imagine all the junk we would accumulate. every single scrap precious. ( I will calm down now lol)
Keep up the good work, didn't think I would ever do an kind of merging etc.. but today I made the hanging bed you did. Wish you were on PC to see the hash of the camp build I did haha but the bed looks good :P
Love the shows you do with TNG.. you're both bonkers
seriously nice vid man. really wish there was a way to place clutter. it would heavily alter camp building on 7- and allow us builders to tell interesting and compelling stories.
personally when I do my builds on F/O 4 I clutter EVERYTHING. I mean it's the post apocalyptic world. who doesn't collect random bits o crap?
seriously that is a great idea you hit on and really appreciate all yer hard work to give us content. keep it up
Thank you so much! :)
It looks so much better with the junk items , to bad we don't the option to put any junk item in our camps like in FO4 , there you could drop a item and then in the build menu you could move/place it anywhere in your camp, it was that simple. *GREAT* vid as always mate👌
Thank you so much! And yeah! The issue there is the junk wouldn’t persist from world to world. With display cases they already have the mechanics to give us what we want, they just need to implement a few tweaks to their design
@@misterchurch666 Indeed
LOL, i was watching the video (nice technique btw) and had a laught at 5:46. That's literally the video I'm putting out today, queen at 7 seconds.
Thanks for sharing this method, definitely gonna try to make a better camp at some point
You had my curiosity but now you have my attention…
Oh Mr Church you are such a tease!! I could feel a tingle throughout the video & then BANG gone...Lol. Some great ideas 💡 I wish we can just place what we want where we want....Great Video thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you! At least you got a tingle out of the ordeal!
Great idea mate, love it
Thanks for sharing
this is impossible! lol I have a cow refrigerator magnet that I have always wanted to place somewhere!!!
Thank you for this tutorial video, it's great and it makes you feel great.
Alas, it does not stay, after a disconnection, change of server, etc... the elements return to their original position (in the showcase).
We can't wait for Bethesda to offer us, one day, items allowing us to showcase these objects.
Maybe one day... also still waiting to be able to display my jumbo mr. fuzzy & large junk objects. Can we at the very least get a large item display. I hope we get a better feature for displaying junk in the future
Yeah, I wanted to put a giddy up buttercup in that bedroom but it’s too big for the cases!
The fact that this is not possible to do without these tricks says enough about the creators.
Amazing stuff as always
Thank you!
Omg you're hilarious ❤ and a truth speaker! I am also miffed as to whyyyy we can't place junk outside of display cabinets, frustrating af. Sorry I can't offer any suggestions, I'm far too noob.
The items have freeze and delete transformation settings on them to lock them in place once the player places them these reset once the player spawns in annoyingly, the snapping points for the junk items have these transformations in the display cabinets. A way around this would be to try and hide an open display like kitchen display cabinet into a wall and possibly drop merge it into the foundations potentially?
I came here for the build tips, I subbed bc of the hilarious sarcastic and defeatist undertone 😂
It looked great. Aside from the loading issue, what's to stop a random player coming in your camp and taking it all as actual junk
Awesome mate!!!
Thank you for increasing my depression with camp building. ( I didn't think I could feel more disappointment, so well done.) However, I cannot give you full credit as you are simply the messenger. So congratulations to Bethesda for dashing my dreams once again.
1 million likes on this entire video! Thank you for saying everything that does come out of my mouth when I'm building. And yes by the end of building I am also screaming like a pterodactyl!
Welcome to C.A.M.P FUCK where Mister Church breaks your heart! 😭

PREHISTORIC PRATTLING?!?! You were definitly homeschooled. Your vernacular gave it away.
What can I say. I’m a sesquipedalian
@@misterchurch666 Sheep-squape-dalian... dumb joke, ignore.
When does he show me how to place it
Fully agree man. I was so disappointed the first day of beta when I couldnt place junk or haul signs back to my camp.
I see camps with junk items meged in. How do the others get them to stay?
I have never smashed the subscribe button faster!! Damn this has me dying laughing!!!
I love your humor and sarcasm dude
Any idea what would occur if you kept the display cases destroyed when loading/deactivating etc.
I realize how impractical that might be in most instances, though I am curious if anyone should know expected behavior.
I tried that, no good
Yeah, I like to get my junk out.
Yeah me too!
Man this would have been so cool if it stayed like that. Definitely really good for photo mode or video sets, though!
Is the drop merge difficult to do. I tried pulling up and back and it shot the foundation well out in front of me. The immersive look it gives is well worth the frustration to try again. Love ur videos dude. Ur commentary is hilarious
Thank you! The foundation merge can be tricky, the ground has to be just right and you have to be pulling it up the hill rather than down the hill xD
I know this video is old, but cant you just regular merge the display case, and just leave the display case as broken? Or does it hide the items when its broken?
it all just disappears unfortunately
Did they patch the merge method? I cannot get any way of doing it.
how do you place the Ring of Fire pit camp otem
It's absolutly f_cking crazy!
I liked build system in Fallout 4 when you can placed and moving small objects (bottles, dishes, cups, mugs and etc).
But we can't do this in Fallout 76. Better solution will be adding this objects by plans from venders.
Or just giving us more versatile display cases that were mats or carpets instead of boxes 😊 no extra plans needed, just one redesigned display case
Look at these beautiful shelves. I bet you want to put stuff on them! - Methesda
1000% agree. Awesome video rant. Thank you!
Reminds me of the old past max build limit camp glitch. When I found that out I stayed up all night making a dream camp
I don’t build interesting camps but I really enjoy watching you build these unique camps.
Thank you!
Good times . Yes it would be great , I'm currently in to as realistic camp homes. This is what's missing. Thx for the video
but how you put the displlay on top of teh other???
Most entertaining and best build channel for F76 builds. Fucking love your content :)
Thank you! 😌
Mister Church, what’s the pretty, red floor with geometric white lines?
how did you get the typewriter?
Yesterday I saw a level 1000 account on Xbox and his camp had junk items placed around everywhere, I wonder how he did it wasn't like this as well, he placed them in different locations and they were not aligned, it felt really natural
I can't get this to work at all. The items in the display case just drop with the display case and don't pop out the top.
What outfit and armour is that you have?
Just got back into the game about 4 months ago after playing only about 4 hours when it launched and love the building aspect. Been watching your videos to get tips and tricks. Plus your humor in the videos keeps my attention lol. But I think if the developers gave us an option to place junk like a separate tab just for junk and put a limit on it say like 50 like the lights have then it shouldn't be that big of an issue with rendering and textures loading in. I'm sure servers would crash and burn if we could place all of our junk out. But I mean im not sure how many display cases you can build, but if you could build say 20 that means 80 junk items are gonna load along with the camp. So couldn't we just have a free placement option available? And then limit the items. 50 junk items would help out alot! But that's just my opinion and thoughts.
Yeah something like this would probably work too! It’s probably easiest for them to just retexture a display case since they already have all the code for it - just give us one that’s a placemat that is only visible in build mode or something 🤷🏼♂️
@@misterchurch666 very true. And I'm sure it's possible seeing how we can display them in a box. They can easily remove the box. But who knows. Lol. I mean if we can't get more content other than the little events at least give us this one small thing.
The ending of the video is truly heartbreaking. I've always wanted to litter my camp's with bottles of Nuka Cola quantum. Maybe a couple of Nukashine as well. I guess the struggle continues.
Question on this as I haven't tried it, still won't make things look scrappy but could be viable on desks and cabinets. Merge a display case into a cabinet or desk, then burn the piss out of the display case. Will that cause the items in the display case to also burn? Or will it leave them behind? As I said I haven't tried it nor have I just burned the piss out of display cases.
The items disappear when the case is burned unfortunately
@@misterchurch666 Doesn't surprise me. The only display cases I find viable, and only for kitchens, is the thanksgiving display cases. At least we can put food items on them and it looks like they somewhat belong in the kitchen setting.
@@sirmang9032 I agree, at least that one is usable a little bit lol
Wow! I feel so bad for all ur hard work. I totally feel your pain. I have spent soooo many hours, days, weeks,….( you get the picture) on a camp project just to realize halfway through the build, that no matter how many ways I try to trick the game into allowing me to build something awesome, that it’s just not possible 😖.
As to a viable junk item placement, I think they could at least give us an atom shop - floor decor - junk item pack, with all the different cool junk items in the game (and a typewriter should definitely be the #1 priority lol) .Then we could at least place those items on surfaces in build mode . I don’t see why that couldn’t be possible, then Bethesda could get there pint of blood in selling us atoms 👹.
I know! If I worked for Bethesda and could choose atom shop items, they could double their profits overnight 😂
@@misterchurch666 So true, u have some crazy good ideas. They don’t seem to have the sharpest tools in charge of atom shop items that’s for sure. Anyway, thanks for the reply and I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your builds. ✌️
@@heylady9108 aw thank you! I appreciate that! I think they don’t even need a super bright person, just someone who has actually built a single camp 😂
Now we have the chessboard display in season 16 Wich is perfect for it
With the new update today ,maybe bugthesda screws up and your actually able to get this to work ?
I just found this video and haven't seen any progress towards the recommended feature but has anyone created a texture swap mod for the display cases? just a clear .png would do it I think. Sure it'd be a pain to have to tell people they need a mod so your camp looks the way you intended...but it would work I think.
I recently found a complete set of chess pieces for chess board of all the robots in fall out 76 and I would love to be able to set it up in my camp but so far I have been unable to find a way of doing it so if anyone out there has suggestions please let me know
Great find for showcasing, but I agree.. unless/until Bethesda gives us something like a display mat, we're gonna have to deal with basic setups.
I have an idea on how this could potentially work I will have a mess around with it all later when I get on, if I get anything to work I will relay the info here and how to do it. 😀
You just gave me a hope to c-c-come over to my pretty junky house... and then broke it with that reset postioning! It's so cruel! )))
Hmmm, what if display case is destroyed, will the junk still float?
ive seen camps with this tho, so how do they do it now? was the reset to display cases fixed?
I think someone at Bethesda saw this video, bc while they didn’t change anything with displays, they added a toaster, fan, and typewriter as floor decor items
ahhh so they saw it and then decided hey fuck it lets just charge them some Atoms for like only 5 items you can place lmao, but ngl i have seem people do some insane merges i thought it had junk items in it but i maybe was wrong i didnt know they had purchasable items like that now but still i do see some insane merges that makes me think hey thats a item that isnt supposed to be there (junk item i thought atleast) and im like damn can you do that somehow now? but yea i agree also w you bro lets go kill the SBQ in 5 seconds with 24 other people all geared to the teeth, shit still hasnt changed in a year lol no endgame content, i think its fosho time to play their competitors (Destiny, WoW, Lost Ark, POE, Runescape etc all MMORPGs they are trying to go up against with their dogshit engine and gameplay loop considering they dare name themselves a MMORPG genre lmao) like hey want new quests? Go here Press E and listen to a text dump lol Fallout players bro i swear they need to ask for change or not play its that simple, cause if they dont play Bethesda gets sad and emo andmight make worth while changes lmao @@misterchurch666
come to think of it is the reason this may work now cause of the Thanksgiving display case by chance? or is there magically some new method that lets people do this cause im almost 99% sure people are doing this now but i could b wrong could b@@misterchurch666
Hey man I feel you awsome video
omg mr church - i wish you made music too - id add you as a prophet of the church of bass.....thank you from your favourite yodelling yoddy
OK but how u getting the floor to do that?
I just started playing after trying to slog through the epically disasterous launch year, and I’m shocked we can’t place junk items. Shocked and, frankly, ticked off. I spent a bunch of money on a shelter with several plans to liven up the place only to find junk turns into a Fn paper bag. It’s been, what, five years? Bethesda is not an indie studio and this is not okay.
I just stumbled onto the chessboard, which is a display case that can display a single item that is centered on the board. I'm not yet sure, but that might give what you're looking for, especially if you merge the board down to hide it.
I actually have a video on it! ☺️
That's smart
