- The new Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries DLC "Solaris Showdown" has arrived. Let's take a look at all the gameplay aspects, story, new Mechs and weapon systems together. In this playthrough we will start a new career as a Mechwarrior thrown int o a conflict against our will.

Fresh off a successful mission on the notorious Mercenary Star, Mason and crew journey to the Hardcore system where they collide with 'Mech pilot Duncan Fisher embarking on a quest to secure a spot in the FedCom Unification Tournament. Forming an unlikely alliance, Mason and Fisher traverse the shadows of Solaris, engage in harrowing 'Mech duels, and race against the clock to save the day - a true Solaris Showdown.
Join Duncan Fisher in a race against time to thwart the overthrow of the Solaris Council, discover the new Loader King 'Mech, select new weapons and equipment tailored for close-quarter engagements, and help save the very future of Solaris.
The gameplay of Mechwarrior 5 is split in two different parts. On the one hand you will have to manage your resources, hire new crew members, outfit your Mechs and travel through the Inner Sphere star map. But the action starts as soon as you get into the cockpit of your Battlemech yourself to fulfill contracts on the battlefield to earn more C-Bills and progress the story. I will review the weapon systems, battlemechs, show you how to build the loadouts and train your pilots and take a look at all the different mission types and upgrades of the MW5 Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC.

Hey Bara, love the Mech action back.
Remember, the only way to get your Lance mates to fight properly is with the "Move To" command, with this order they follow their combat doctern and stay within a few hundred meters of the spot.
With the "Follow me" command, they are constantly trying to get into formation first then fight.
With the way you studder step, turn and find good angles, the Lance mates never get setup to fight, unless you maintain course and speed.

I vote star over, however... this may be the perfect opportunity to play your Bara Mechs that they give you for one video. SO give us one more play video with this group but use your given mechs that you usually put into storage, it's been a while since they have been given some love.
Coyote said that he wanted the aerospace fighter missions to be "nearly" impossible. He wasn't kidding!
Personally, I would love to see a Dark Age (Word of Blake uprising) campaign since so few games cover it.
But if you don't it's okay since your Rogue Tech is set in that era...

I feel like one last start-over for the final run of MW5 before Clan Invasion would be perfect. Maybe spice things up by tweaking some of the YAML settings to make the combat even harder?
My vote is to start over, about 10 years before the clan invasion, so you can build up a roster of mechs using only IS/Lostech and then face the clans once they arrive in high-tier missions. That should provide the usual early-game challenge as well as a difficulty spike when you first have to face clan mechs with IS tech in 80+ diff missions.
If you want to make progression even more tricky, use YAML salvage type 1, where you can salvage whole mechs like in vanilla, but then enable the option that forces destroyed torsos to be FUBAR. Since most mechs end up getting cored by the AI, you will have to be more deliberate in battles if you want to salvage a mech for your own use, especially early on.
A different fun challenge could be starting extremely late (e.g. Dark Age) with just one mech and pilot, surviving via arena missions until you've grown strong enough to start merc work.
That's a twist on my current playthorugh, I started in 3045 so not a lot of time at all to grow your lance before the clans come calling.
New start in the Dark Age! All of the goodies unlocked + super heavies! Also set the dropship upgrades to be cash only and not require cantina points (if you don't progress takes way too long).

I would like to see a fresh start. But as a challenge do the DLC story lines as they come up. I don't know if you can do them all in one time line. But it could be fun if you could.
New series is fine, but I would like to give this one a few episodes for a proper finish as it was cut short due to Solaris Showdown coming out, so let's say we end this series on episode 50?
As you always stress, how much you are enjoying the early game, you should start from scratch again. I´ll be happily watching !

You really need to start over so you too can experience starting a new game (I did the story line) and experience chasing down the crazy build Tier 5 Mongoose GunSlingers (Stealth armor, etc) during Solaris randoms on industrial worlds rockin a Tier 1 Jenner while under Reputation 3 :)

I did a new series on my run in it since i do like the fresh start challange. Love your series and got me hooked on goblin stone.

That tank swarm was very unfortunate because the mission itself is pretty hard.

First, Happy Birthday (belated). I hope it was fun.
Second, I would personally like to see a start over with all the mods if they are all caught up to the new DLC. I enjoy seeing all the goodies and like it when new loot is earned. I enjoyed this play-through with the antics of Duncan Fisher, definitely the hero we need, but I kind of miss the life of a mercenary on a crazy battlefield full of enemies with all manner of IS mechs, clan weapons and wacky pirate shenanigans.
if you start a new playthrough, you must go directly to the dark age, some mechs on the battlefield are just crazy!!
After that nail biting mission, as much as I enjoyed watching it, I definitely think it's time to restart sir.

Restart with a late start 3050+ I think is when all the tech is in game. There is few goodies you never see with the earlier starts. There is a mod to remove the time restrictions on the story missions so you can do them later if you want.
Man, I'm kind of leaning towards a new playthrough, but it is fun to play with all the big toys haha. Whatever one you pick I'll watch!

Also he should corect his Mods and use the Faction Correct Versions.
Its BS that he enganged and farmed Clan Mechs soo early and easy way before they should even appear.
ANd use the Revamped Weapon Mods instead they are fun and give everything more tactical Deepth.

It's fun watching you claw your way through the progression, but it's also fun to see some of these super-tough missions. Can you keep doing both?

Standing still in front of turrets will actually get you shot in the face.
Start over, and set the starting date to the dark age. Things get interesting there.
I think these missions require some sort of self repair armor (harjel, black carapace, etc). Otherwise they`re too risky.

Id Start a new one late in the timeline, it allows for more interesting starting unit variety along with more opportunities to salvage more advanced tech light mechs early game

I only won an interceptor. The fighter ones are so far unwinable. Those ravager and laser turrets to too much damage Before i can destroy them....

Well that was a tough return. You were really lucky to escape on that one with that combination of weather and mech/tank spawns. I would have thought building a few more turrets at the beginning would have helped take care of the drop ships and tank swarms.
Dunno yet about this series. There is enough here to continue but there have obviously been a few updates to the mods to work with the last update to the game. I think I'll leave it up to you.
I'd vote for you to start over but do a truly hardcore zero-to-hero run.
To genuinely have the feeling that you need to earn the mechs or progression.
Please start over with slow mech progression late in the timeline so you get the goodies for light mechs while they are valuable. I like the grind in the early games. Every hit counts.

The only flaw with that it by the time you get to the later DLC campaigns you should be able to field a variety of assault mechs which makes them easier
@@nphil93992 Actually they follow a fairly linear progression, except for dragons gambit, which starts off at 240 tonnage limit on the first mission, but does hit 400 before then end of the campaign (RoR campaign before it is 320-400 tonnage). For that one I would just use 3 mechs instead of 4 when necessary. I am currently doing a playthrough in this style on my channel, I am enjoying playing all the DLC content again in sequence. Would be cool to see Bara do the same.

Ich würde es schön finden wenn du neu startest und dich auch mal etwas länger im Bereich der Light und Medium Mechs aufhalten würdest. Es dauert bei den meisten durchläuften Leder immer nicht lang und du spielst nurnoch mit absolut überlegenen Heavy und Sturmklasse Mechs, und zu sehen wie du damit Schießbudenfiguren Zusammenschießt wird mit der Zeit langweilig. Ich will dich mal richtig schwitzen sehen 😅.
Start over in clanner time. Could be an interesting struggle in the beginning. Is your Mod list in Steam up-to-date? I have one that is still crashing my game and cannot figure out which it is...

Keep playing. Or star over as much towards the 32 century if possible. You wanted to rebuild those mechs. Even with sup up mechs you still nearly failed the mission.
New season please. With no OP units and weapons when you completely dominate the battlefield where even assault mechs are destroyed in 2-3 shots.
Start over with actual mrb import save to new game sell all weapons and mechs set money to 1 mil and get locust PB for start
If you start over please set it up so you can progress faster! 6 mech parts is annoying.
I think we have watched you enough times trying to get enough salvage for an urbanmech over the course of 3 episodes.
Also increase the amount of salvage.
Just make your progression faster. because early game is tedious and we actually want to see you try the fancy new gear and mech builds.
