Lester Holt - Spring Commencement 2015

A world-class broadcast journalist ‪#‎MadeAtSacState‬! NBC News anchor Lester Holt, who received an honorary doctorate Saturday during the Arts and Letters ceremony at Spring Commencement 2015, recalled that his studies at Sacramento State opened his eyes to the world of journalism. After honoring President Alexander Gonzalez, who was officiating at his final graduation ceremony as president, Holt celebrated the occasion, joking, “Do you mind if I say it: The doctor is in the house!” He encouraged this year’s graduates to be ready and willing to seize opportunities that life throws their way. “I’m so proud to be, and to have been, associated with this university,” he told the graduates. “But as much as CSUS helped me set my direction in life, I never expected to be back in these circumstances and receive such an honor.
