Can anybody shed light on what "Sound or visuals were significantly edited or digitally generated" means in this case? I'm just curious to know the role the AI would play in the event of something like this. Instrumentation? Arrangement? Both? I want to be able to discern the craftsmanship (besides the existence of the originals) from the role of the AI. I can see artifacting in the text on the side of the album art. I'll say though, if AI can flip music this convincingly already, we are in for a wild ride hahahah

This is legitimately amazing. Everything is expertly crafted, even the graphics here. Each track is perfectly arranged in the city pop/jazz fusion style. Hits every note and scratches every itch for me. Love the genre, love the game, and love its soundtrack, so needless to say you've made something special! For me and a lot of others! Reminds me of the Rockman X Arranged album from Alph-Lyla, released around the same time this hypothetically would've been back in the day. Thanks for making this!
For those who end up here looking for the DNA of older game BGMS: - TSquare is the big one, like @AuroraSilverFox says - Casiopea is usually seen as its "rival", with a shorter discography but just as good - Yellow Magic Orchestra, start from "Rydeen" You'll hear echoes of Mario, Street Fighter, Castlevania, Final Fantasy, and so much more, when really, it's the echoes of Japanese Jazz Fusion we've been acquainted with most of our gaming lives
yup, the realization that retro video game music is literally just retro japanese music is just insane realization. now, that i have artists in hte genre my dad always asks me "are we listening to video game soundtracks again?" nope, just what they were inspired by.
Here in Kansas post winter storm. Wow this take on SMRPG hits different. I'm kinda smiling at how different but yet familiar this sounds in this style.
This compilation strikes me more intense than I imagined. For an exemplar of the city pop genre, I would refer to “Plastic Love” by chanteuse Mariya Takeuchi, but this medley progresses more like a rhapsody. It remains quite urban, though.

@@MachineMan64 yep. Even if you can’t tell from the audio crustiness and weirdness, these channels follow a similar format of listing a bunch of timestamps and tracks, but no other attribution like artist etc
Why is stuff like this becoming more common all of a sudden? This is the second time in the past couple weeks I've come across an entire album of city pop that's been generated by AI and made to *look like* the real deal. As a creative, this really upsets me-not only because it's misleading, but also because it piggybacks off of the talent and hard work of real musicians who have spent years perfecting their craft. If this were a genuine album created and performed by real people, I'd seriously consider throwing money at it! It's clear that you have an appreciation for the genre, but please consider pursuing it in other ways, because this isn't it.
Musicians aren't going to stop creating because a computer can mimic them. The same way the camera didn't stop people from painting. No one is making significant money from covering video game music anyway. Nothing is lost.
@@krowlyy OP was primarily talking about it being deliberately misleading. Following your analogy, this is like taking a photo and presenting it in a way that implies that it is your painting, only mentioning somewhere in the fine print that it's a photo. This has little to do with whether photos replaced paintings. Also, whether or not this is an issue is not just measured by the amount of money made.
As more intimidating as the original sunken ship theme is, this version sounds good too, I can see this being used in one of the Mario sports games developed by Square Enix.
