  • Last spring we were frantically running around ‪@FunnyGuyFarm‬ trying to get things finished up for our home remodel permit inspection but it was the kids spring break and we desperately wanted to get away. As soon as we passed the inspection we packed the car and hit the road. We love road tripping together as a family and have been taking these kinds of trips for quite some time. We are firm believers in hitting the trail and bringing our kids and dog in tow.
We loaded up the van and headed for the east side of the Sierras. Our farm is located in the foothills so it’s not a huge trip to drive. Our first night we stayed at a hotspring spot that’s pretty well known. It has the coolest pools and geological features. You can see the source bubbling out of the ground and traveling around to all the different pools. The kids loved it. After soaking until our fingers were pruned we packed up and headed to the burger spot. We got our favorites, chicken nuggets, onion rings, and burgers. Yummm.
Next stop was heading further south to our next camping spot. It was higher in elevation and had an amazing view. The girls were chilly so we loaded them up with hand warmers ‪@OutdoorBoys‬ style. We all slept great and actually slept in until about 10:30 am. We hung here and had coffee, bacon and more coffee and more bacon. Then we packed up camp and headed to a close by hotspring.
After the hot springs we headed to our next camping spot. We’ve been here before for many years and it’s always a great spot. You can camp inside of these beautiful rock features and it’s really safe and fun and the kids and dog love it. I wish we could’ve stayed longer than one night!
The next day we packed up everything and started to make our way back home. It was a great short trip, only a few nights but packed with tons of great memories. And on the way home we saw my guy Mr Smokey bear so we had to stop and get a picture!!
I hope you enjoyed our little adventure!!!
