Love this guy!!!! Even better with single grain alcohol or high-proof in general. I laughed so hard at his facial expressions. By far my favorite bourbon and scotch reviewer. Keep up the great work
When nosing keep your mouth open and this prevents an overdose of alcohol. I love this Rye whisky and am approaching the bottom of my bottle and will definitely be getting another. Wonderful.
My understanding is that this rye is coming from MGP in Indiana. It tastes very similar to Bulleit 95, Templeton, etc... with more bite and kick. It's a 2 year old unfortunately but its still pretty good. I wish Willet was releasing MGPs rye again at 4 years with not chill filtering again, It was my favorite of the MGP bottlings.
After this review i decided to avoid buying this bottle. I bought it almost accidentallyt and it becomes one of my favorites. Mr. Horst is still one of my favorite reviewer. Here you can see how people's preferences differ. I'm happy and can't wait to open the next bottle of 1776 straight rye I got from my brother. I drank the first one too quickly...
Entertaining and educational as always. Given how widely individual tastes and preferences vary, do you put much stock in awards and ratings when it comes to whisky?
irgendwie ist die hauptnote plaste/klebstoff, sowohl in der nase als auch im mund... danahc wird es schön minzig. vllt muss der erstmal ein paar tage stehen
Horst. I do like your reviews, but... you need to let your whisky sit for a few minutes before you taste. A few drops of water makes a big difference in taste and you put WAAYYYY too much in your mouth and swish. Sip it man just sip😎🤠
Been a while since I've watched a Horst tasting. He never disappoints. His critiques are pointed, yet so polite.

Any chance of tasting's of Whistle Pig rye, Lot 40, Masterson's rye or my personal favorite Millstone 100 rye from Holland.
Cheers
The reptile on the back of the bottle is a SNAKE, not a snail.

"at the world spirits competition over eighty gold medals were sold..." nice Freudian slip there 👍 😎
Old Pepper is the single barrel strength offering, the "1777".
🔥 in a bottle, boys!
Rye doesn't get any hotter at 95%!!
Could you do a review of Lot 40 rye from Canada, seems to be one of the few good Canadian Whiskies available outside of Canada.
Cheers
He did a review on it!

Love the Label
In Holland the cheapest price is about 43 euro.
Have you tried Lock Stock and Barrel Rye? It has a 13 year age statement. I just noticed it at my local shop.
Did you notice the price?
It is $107.00
I don't think they are available over here.

I didn't know this trend still existed.
