Thank you! Great video on something we can all do, but forget because of the timeframe of not doing it all the time. I wasn't aware of the red washer for the hot. Funny my hot side washer always fails....Now I know, thanks to you....
I have the exact same faucet in my laundry room. It’s been dripping awhile. My husband is NOT Handy at all so this job is up,to me. That’s for showing me how.
Drips don't show up on are most sensitive meters. I work for the water company. A 1000 gallons is 10 bucks. Streams may not show up on the red sensitive meter. But yeah a dripping faucet is nerve wracking. Newer stems don't have replaceable washers. So finding new stems can be difficult. Replacing the whole faucet is a pain due to lack of room.
Hi. I can't budge the stem to loosen it. I'm afraid i may strip it. Pretty sure its a Gerber stem on the utility tub. Can I hit it with some heat, not too much, to work it loose. I WD-40 and Liquid wrenched the heck out of it. No noticeable corrosion. Just real tight. Thanks for this video.
Heating may work. I have successfully done so with other stuck nuts, alternating with WD40 quenching, but I've never done it on a faucet. There my be plastic washers on some of those seals, so be careful!
@@ItsFixable Thanks for your prompt response. I planned on replacing the whole stem and probably seat. I'll have to be careful not to melt the sink! lol Thank you again for your help.
@@ItsFixable Two bouts of heat and twisting with a vise grips got it off. I think the seat looks ok. I don’t want to press my luck. Lol Thank you for your help.
I tried fixing my leaky faucet by following along with your video but all procedures fell apart when I realized I didn’t have an old tin can that used to hold Christmas cookies. I went to ACE to see if they had one and they said they didn’t. Now I’m stuck. :-(
Very helpful bu it drives me crazy when someone uses an adjustable/ crescent wrench in the wrong orientation. Sorry, but I'm a little anal when it comes to proper tool use.😢
This is perfect. I have the same faucet model in the laundry room and it's been dripping for quite a while. Thanks for the upload 🙏🙏🙏
I'm glad it's of help!
Thanks for the timely walk-thru; very helpful video and much appreciated! 👍🙂
Glad it was helpful!
I have the exact same faucet and it's leaking on the hot water side. Great video!

You young kids don't know what tin is, do you?! ;-)
@@ItsFixable yep, I’m old enough to know.
Thank u

No grease or tape on the threads?
No sealant. The O rings seal the stem in it's collar, and the flat washer seals the whole collar to the faucet body.

Sometimes it's the only way it fits. Too, what makes it worse, I'm left handed.
Some close-ups would have been better for those of us who have never done this before.
What make is your faucet?
It's in the video description.
This is nonsense…..
