    Thank you, after watching your video I feel that I can change my washers by myself. After asking 2 grown men in my house to change them for me!! Thanks again, much appreciated.

    The tap mechanism (with washers fitted) was only £3 down the local DIY, so it was easier to replace the whole thing.

    Hi job done many thanks thanks but was just wondering if I can change the taps to something more modern 👍

    • @yourplumbingpal1225
      @yourplumbingpal1225  4 роки тому +2

      Hi there , yes you could change them for a raised mixer tap which is actually an older Victorian style though in the context may look more modern , if that makes any sense . The only other option would be maybe two single taps of whatever type or style you like as there are two holes . I would maybe do a search for " modern deck mixer tap " and see what happens . You could also just buy a tap top kit with different heads and replace the tops and gear . I am not sure any of these options would be truly modern from most peoples point of view as the majority of modern styles are single tap hole . A single tap hole mixer tap would not fit through the existing hole ( either of them) even if you did want to use a chrome blanking plate on the other hole , which I think would look pretty rubbish . Sorry cant be more help but think that is about all the options Joseph

      Is the bottom of the deck permanently fixed to the sink? I have a leaky left hot water tap but was going to replace with brand new taps but I can't figure out how to remove the whole unit? I have a Phillips 😊

    Try using easy tapsplitter when headnut is stuck fast, much easier.

    Interesting that you show pump pliers as one of the tools needed, and then don’t use them. But great video anyway!

    Could wear a thick glove when holding the brass body? If the screwdriver slips this might help protect...

    Hi, how can I check if I have a combi boiler? And how to turn the water off? I have the exact same tap as the one in your video.

    • @yourplumbingpal1225
      @yourplumbingpal1225  4 роки тому

      Sorry just saw this. If your boiler has 5 or more pipes below it it is usully combi , one of those pipes will have a valve on it usually a small one which if turned off will switch off the hot water, though you will need the hot and cold off. In most properties if you turn odd the cold water off and you have a combi it will switch off both the hot and cold as the cold pipe also feeds the hot water boiler. Another way to tell is if you have cupboard with a big round cylinder in it then you do not have a combi, not sure if that helps , these are just general rules of thumb if i can be any further help just ask .

      @@smokie33 yes you can , if you have one. It depends on the age of the building and any additional works carried out, but yes if it is there.

    Dreadful quality video. Far too dark and lacking in contrast.
