It's great this new teaching format because one needs to learn how to fish, how to target different species, the gear required and the cost involved. Then you add in the most important factor - Bait. Then you have practicals, hopefully you put what you learn into practice and are successful. NOW JUST RINSE AND REPEAT.....BUT ALWAYS KEEP LEARNING. THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO CATCH FISH. BE HUMBLE AND WILLING TO LEARN AND YOU WILL BE A BOSS ANGLER IN NO TIME. ALSO REMEMBER TO TEACH AND HELP OTHERS AS WELL.
Love it. I always appreciate a mix of education/action to complement it. What I'd really like to see is an in depth explanation of your technique for live lining/chunking for yellows. You seem to kill it and would love to see a video explaining everything from catching bait, rigging, tackle, strategy, you name it!
Great video. Love the format. Fishing the Jersey shore for more than 50 years and I am still learning so whatever you can share Chris, we'll eat it up. Tight lines, bro.
The format is excellent. As someone new to inshore fishing, the information on tackle, presentation and how to target the species is greatly appreciated. Owe you guys a cold one some day!
Great video! I really enjoy watching shows/ videos that include where, why, how people run their spreads, etc... It doesn’t need to every video but it would be great to see more tutorials. Thanks for the information.
Awesome!! We need this for yellow fin and blue fin brotha. I know can’t give us numbers, but tips and tricks on how your so successful consistently. How you do your spread, what to look for. What to look when your out there. Anything wanna give us on tuna. Thank capt!!
Chris, you and your crew are absolutely amazing. Your respect for the waters off the Jersey coast is just second to none. I have learned so much by watching your videos including this tutorial. I'm up in north west Jersey right about 2 miles from the Delaware river. Please don't change a thing i look forward to seeing your videos whenever you get a chance to make them!! 👍🤪
I think September and October are the best simply because a lot of guys who are down the shore for the summer go home and all that’s left is us die hards. I run out of GE and notice that it picks up inshore after Labor Day.
Wow is Brian from Roxborough that’s my back yard Wissahickon creek great trout bite. Love the videos on different ways on catching fish. We want last weekend out of belmar my 12 year old son got his first yellowfin he was 2 for 2
We come out of Chestnut Neck but do most of our fishing in the inlet and back channels. Maybe we can buy you a drink at Back Bay Ale house this summer!
Great video, Capt Chris! Looks like everyone had a great time! Have you given any thought to doing a video about your boat? I’m sure there are a lot us out there that would enjoy it! Stay safe on the Mighty Atlantic!
Love your videos, learned a lot over the years. Hope to see you at Hudson Canyon! We run out of Fire Island inlet in Long Island NY and do a lot of tuna fishing. John on the 33 Grady!
Wissahickon Creek? Where are you originally from? I'm Bucks County next door. I didn't realize that you can catch these so close to land. Twenty miles out? Hmm. Oh, how's the repairs on your boat going? Is it fixed? Your channel is so much fun.
Hey Bob. I am originally from Voorhees, NJ. My brother in law is from Roxborough/Manayunk PA area. Yea you can get them that close And no progress on the 43 yet. Waiting on the repairs.
Head out to the boat show at the 28m like all the shoobies do, last October we were overnight ing little yellowfin I landed a nice gaffer bull 39lbs out at the trunk
Hey Chris! Nice vid. When do the mahi usually show up in NJ? I fish up in ny out of Shinnecock. This year the mahi have been small and so have the bluefin. The yellows have been giant though. Last week I hooked and lost what we estimated to be a 115 lb yellowfin. Hope you get the same luck but you actually land the thing. Lol
Another great vid. Quick one for ya- you had a Phoenix before- I’m looking at a 38 Phoenix down in cape May with twin Detroit 671TA’s. Any thoughts on it before I sea trial?
hey man shoot me an email with your cell phone number. chrischotti@gmail.com Pretty sure the 38 was the same vintage as my 34. When i went to sell mine we had major water intrusion issues into the hull and stringers. In addition, the 671s were great motors, but from all my research only in the right application. Phoenix made a great hull. Fit n finish not great. Rides very well. But very concerned about the water intrusion issues on mine.
Great format. Had questions about positioning. Are you using motors or anchoring up.? It doesnt seem like a drift would be optimal unless slow pitching up the column with the drift. What do you think?
on the big boat i figure out which way we'll drift then go upcurrent or upwind then drift by the buoy/structure. I try and stay a casting distance away and try to chum them closer. then once we hook one they'll usually come right to the boat. Out in the canyons sometimes they literally swim right up to the boat
Thank you for clarification on the size/bag limit. If you're in NJ and you post your catch on some facebook groups, you get a lot of negativity because they think you've violated the regs (which they obviously don't know about up here)
What’s your lite tuna set up? Rod, reel and line (mono or brraid?). Great videos very down to earth and you explain the basics witch we forget all the time!!!
Great video man but I have a question I'm 14 I've been fishing my hole life from jersey and I want to go into the fishing business and I have so many questions about the fishing out there 10 20 miles out can you do a video on like the basics of tuna fishing in what gear to use and what kind of line you recommend
Hey Capt I know there was yellowfin at inshore as the triple wrecks down south, were they also up north a bit in the mud hole/ gloryhole? Also I checked out the 38 ocean we spoke about getting survey done fingers crossed!! Thanks!
I like the format! I may borrow it for virtual teaching. Thanks for all the mahi tips. I'll be putting g the advice to use. Landed our first ever Mahi on the Brynnie-B II this summer. Looking g forward to many more!

Thanks for watching!
Love this idea! No fishing channels I follow are doing these (especially not any local NJ channels that are relevant to where I fish). Thanks Chris!
THanks so much for the kind words!

Cool video format. Check out the Tsunami split tail minnows as the search bait. If we hook up on it we'll throw the chunks and work the pot.
ok great thanks for the tip Jared!!
