So from my point of view ranked was something i looked forward to heavily to improve the skill level of my lobbies. When it was solo queue i was disappointed cause i wanted to queue with my friends. Now that been changed to be "always ranked" im enjoying it more cause i get the "number go up" dopamine hit and get to queue with my friends at the same time.
They had ranked closed off so they can track matchmaking quality in a contained data parameter . It wasnt their plan to keep it like that the whole time. Same for the min. Ranked games to get ranked and the weekly rank check. It was all to reduce noise in the data. They did the same slow roll out of availability with unranked for the same reason

I agree that ranked is too soon. I wiwh they worked on the sandboxy casual side of things first
